Just bought the Hp Elitedesk 800 g3 for 78.99 (Including tax) and I feel like I just scammed the seller.. It said it was an i5-6500 but it actually came with the i5-7500, which also bumped up the Integrated graphics from 530 to 630. The i5-7500 in enough in itself is like 50 - 80 bucks.
Great! It’s still a 4c/4t but under $80 for a pc that can do ok in gaming and good for general purpose is a bargain. Sometimes we spend $80-100 dinning out.
@@emmanuelrodriguez1043 Yeah! The i5-7500 is better than the i5-6500 so it should be less of a bottleneck for the RTX 3050. I currently have one pci slot for my wifi adapter, not sure the G2 can fit a wifi card, like the G3. I like the mod you did for the antenna
Cool! Thanks. I7-6700 is what it had originally. Idk about the MINI WIFI PCI ON THE G2, but if one on the x4 pcie works for you, I would stick to that, and the x16 lanes pcie for the graphics. RTX3050 is powerful and modern for it’s size! Enjoy your PC. Thanks for watching.

You think I will be able to play 1080p 60FPS in high setting to games like RDR2 and Horizon Zero Down? I mostly care about quality over FPS. And please make more gameplay videos
I like that little PC, it cane out a few years ago. Tbh, a mix of Medium and High with your PC AND THE RTX3050 is what you can set to run games like RDR2 and HORIZON Z D. At least I know you can enable Resizable Bar that should help a little but and also that processor is still very capable. If you go high on the settings, you won’t hit 60 FPS so easy, I know those are not E-sports games, but tbh, I feel like 60 FPS is the sweet spot for a lot of those games to feel smooth. I like Fortnite a lot (something I never thought of liking before) and I like using epic settings because I love great visuals, and the RTX 3050 barely hits 60 FPS like that. I think using PCIE gen 3 and being bottlenecked by the i6-6500 is the reason why it won’t hit 60 almost all the time, but maybe with a faster processor, Resizable Bar enabled and PCIE Gen 4 I can hit 60. I don’t play it in a very competitive way. I will try FORZA HORIZON 5 and more games eventually.
@@emmanuelrodriguez1043 thank you so much for taking the time for this reply. A really useful one 👌. I think my bottleneck may be only in the PCI 3, so I’ll comment later this year with my experience when I get it. ✌🏻
@@danielsierra3836 You are welcome. Enjoy that PC when you get it. And tbh, like your processor is way better than the i5-6500 in this video, bottleneck won’t be a thing, just , PCIE gen 3 will make you loose a few FPS, not a lot, the bandwidth needed in between your CPU AND THE RTX3050 is manageable on PCIE gen 3x8 which is what this card runs at, gen 4x8 is the ideal, but you will be ok. RX6400 single slot LP uses gen 4x4 but going gen 3x4 it gets affected way more. Good luck with your build.
As long as the power supply can handle the GPU, I would look to get an I7 6700. That would give much better performance. I had an old dell workstation with a Xeon E3-1245 v5 and an RX 5600(non-XT), and I got really good results either playing games like GTA IV and V, plus Apex Legends, as well as rendering.
Oh yes, It had an I7-6700 I took it out to build a custom PC that’s on my channel too. Maybe I’ll go AM4 but the G series AMD are Gen 3 not Gen 4, AM5 G series support Gen 4/5.
prodesk 600 G3 is smaller. And can only fit a single slot graphics card. And wattage consumption etc depends a lot on what PSU, CPU and peripherals are connected.
@@gregadams9125 You don’t need it. That’s the “recommended” but mine is only 180W and my card has a higher TDP than the rx550 and runs fine. Make sure your card is a low profile, just connect it, install the drivers and good to go.

Hey what’s up! Wow, that’s messed up from them, and tbh, the only cards that will fit there are single slot low profile like the AMD RX6400 4GB (single slot) and Intel ARC A310 4GB (single slot) there are dual slot cards, like the RTX3050, GTX1650, ARC A380 LP., These won’t fit because the PCIE X16 Slot, is very close to the PSU, and there’s another X4 PCIE Slot which won’t hold any graphics card at all. How would an HP Elitedesk 800 g2 SFF fair against the RTX 3050 LP? With a standard i5-6500 CPU that would be 65 Watts (If I'm not mistaken), and the RTX 3050 LP is 70 Watts, so that would be 135 watts. Yes, mine has 180w and is enough. But the i5-6500 will make it bottleneck because it’s not powerful enough to handle the cards performance. Look at my video playing fortnite in high settings, the processor is at 100% usage while the card is only using 60-80%.
@@emmanuelrodriguez1043 So for a g3 you could get a i7-7700K while a g2 can only get a i7-6700k? Would probably still be bottlenecked with the 6700k, especially with CPU-intensive tasks, but the 7700k would probably work for the 3050 right? You would probably need a better power supply though...
Only just now realized in the description of your Fortnite video, you say the 6700 or 7700 makes it way better lol. And both those CPUs use the same amount of watts as the i5-6500? So you wouldn't really need to replace the heatsink?
@@OPMayo_VR Yes, I had the 6700 and it was good, i just took it out for another build. Non K, the K versions of those CPU’s use 95W and even more while overclocked. So 6700 is hood for you and 4c/8t way better than i5-6500.

@@rodcal3 Hi! Using a card that doesn’t put out huge performance numbers like a 3080, 4070 or more powerful, it’s ok to run on PCI GEN 3. Not a lot of performance is lost. Maybe a couple of FPS on certain games. RTX3050 LP 6GB uses 8 lanes out of the 16 on the pci slot. The bandwidth it puts out is not extreme, so running at 8x3 instead of 8x4 is totally fine. Sell it if you can and get an 800 g3 or 800 g4. 705 is smaller than a PS4 or around the same size. And it doesn’t have the port to install any graphics card. The PCIe port. Sorry, but try to get a SFF pc, not a mini, micro ir tiny pc. SFF Small Form Factor.
Hey, there are different 705 sizes like the 800 series. 705 just means it has an AMD CPU/APU not Intel, I have the 705 G4 SFF (exact same size and ports etc as yours, just a Ryzen 2400G). Same 180W PSU so I think a 3050 LP should also work fine, will pick one up soon. The peak power draw I see for the 2400G online is around 70W. Great video, thanks!
@emmanuelrodriguez1043 I checked the dimensions and it has the same tdp and it's shorter however it's a little under double width of the low profile but it's still an itx
The power supply in those machines are so crap. Its just not worth getting this pc because the motherboard dont take the standard psu and power inputs so it cost more money to replace either the motherboard or psu on those. I just returned it because its not worth modifying the standard psu to work with the motherboard. An i5 8th or 9th gen cost like 50-60, and a motherboard cost like 40-50. If you want it cheaper, a i5 6th gen cost 40 and motherboard 40. Just get a cheap case, fan and ram
I understand, 180W is enough if you don’t go with any K CPU. I got this one with the I7-6700 16GB RAM AND 1TB SSD, for $173 but took the I7 out to build something different. There’s a version with 8th and 9th Gen CPU’s for ~200-250 used!

Hello, were you able to do a performance test? and see if that processor does not bottleneck the graphics card, limiting the experience.
@@jfalconnet not really, but the i5-6500 does bottleneck the card, not the i7-6700 or anything with higher performance.
Hello, the video is very good, I have a question, my pc is an HP Elitedesk 800 G4 Intel Core i7-8700 Ram 16GB, 250w power supply, this geforce rtx 3050 6g oc low profile, is it suitable for this power supply or Do you recommend another card with lower consumption? I ask you this question since some websites where they sell it say that it is recommended that the power source be 300w.
@@cristianandres1406 The power supply you have is perfect! The one I was using in this video is 180W and was enough, even with the i7-6700 it had (65W TDP) also the card gets the power from the pcie slot and it can suppy up to 75W and the 3050 6GB LP uses only 70W max. The 800 G4 is something I want to use to make a video or HP Z2. So people can have some good gaming pc for cheap.
@@emmanuelrodriguez1043 Thank you very much for your response, excellent, I will wait for that video of the 800 g4, your videos are very good since they are useful to many people who have these desktop PCs and do not want to spend on a new PC to play.
@@cristianandres1406 You are welcome. @@HassanSanto-l5d Hi! Yes, It’s 180W PSU and the CPU has a TDP OF 65W and GPU TDP is 70W.

Crazy my arc a380 with the i5 6500 is hitting 100% when playing pubg im thinking the 3050 is less power hungry
CPU is hitting 100% I wonder what is the power requirement for the 3050?
@ 3050 uses more power (70W) ARC A380 LP, uses about (45W) you are having a bottleneck. Play on DX12, 3D resolution at 100, textures set to medium and viewing distance medium or hight. That makes the GPU work more, and the CPU has more time to do the calculations. Take advantage of the card. Now I use it with a R5-5600GT. CPU usage IS 40-60% and graphics card usage ~90-100% with DX12, High textures and epic view distance. No ray tracing enabled.

Hi! i have a HP EliteDesk 800 G3 SFF, its pci express 3.0, i'm wondering if the msi video card is worth it since it won't be running at full power 4.0?
@@rodcal3 Hi! Using a card that doesn’t put out huge performance numbers like a 3080, 4070 or more powerful, it’s ok to run on PCI GEN 3. Not a lot of performance is lost. Maybe a couple of FPS on certain games. RTX3050 LP 6GB uses 8 lanes out of the 16 on the pci slot. The bandwidth it puts out is not extreme, so running at 8x3 instead of 8x4 is totally fine. A little loss in performance. The RX6400 uses only 4 lanes out of the 16, so 4x3 is significantly less bandwidth than 4x4 or even 8x3. But, again, the performance that these low end cards put out, it can be handled fine on PCIe Gen 3.

- Windows 10
- AMD PRO A8-8650B CPU with integrated R7 graphics card
- RAM : 8 GB 1333mhz
Power supply : 200 WATT
I saw that your PC has a 180W power supply, did you have no problem adding the rtx 3050? Mine is 200watt can I safely add it? I honestly don't feel like changing the power supply on this PC.
Thanks!
@@_peppedegiorgio_ You won’t have any issues adding the 6GB LP 3050.
The only thing is that the A8-8650B has 30% less performance in single core than the I5-6500 and 42% less performance in multicore. Also RAM speed won’t help much neither :/.
What games are you trying to play? Maybe get a cheaper card for now and less performance card too, because the bottleneck will be huge, unless you want to keep the card and then upgrade to another PC later on.
There’s bottleneck even with the i5-6500 in some games, the i7-6700 and up is way better as I mentioned in this video.

@@XMproYT To be honest, I like playing Fortnite and noticed that even with the RTX 3050, every time there is an update, It takes a little while to load the first time. Sometimes you will be getting off the bus late. It will stay connecting for a little longer. Overwatch was fine. PUBG low settings was fine. If you get a 4GB card, get the rx6400. ARC is cheap, but unless you pair it to a 10 gen or newer intel CPU, or Ryzen 4000 series or newer, you won’t be able to enable ReBar, and ARC depends on it a lot.
