    ABOUT DANNY
    -----------------------
Thanks for stopping by. I created this website as a resource just for you to support you on your golfing journey as I know how tricky learning this game can be…to say the least!
I personally found learning the game too long and difficult in the early days. I read all the books, watched all the videos but my game was not improving. Then after studying various forms of neuro science, motor learning, psychology and personal development in less than two years I went from struggling golfer to the final stage of the Open Championship.
On TH-cam and my personal website (www.dannymaude.com) I will bring you the most up to date training, training that is getting tangible results for my clients right now. I don’t know where you are in your golfing journey, you could be just starting out or maybe your body isn’t as flexible as it once was or you’ve got ambitions to slash your handicap. Wherever you are I’ve created a place here you can learn, share your ideas, ask questions and get all the support you need to enjoy this great game.
Be prepared though. If its a quick fix you are after Im not your man. Here I will give you step-by-step advice that you can take straight to the practice ground and apply to the course but it will require you to get stuck in, screw up…a lot, practice some more and then watch those scores tumble
I’ve had the pleasure of coaching thousands of students all around the world and if you are up for the challenge and are ready to get in the game…LETS GO TO WORK!

The best 'tip' I have ever heard was from Gary Player. He said, "Remember the feeling of 'striking a match' when you hit the ball". This video reminded me of that. That tip, and your 'tip' of 'dragging the club back' are the best I have ever heard. Golf has finally reopened here in Michigan, I will be playing soon. Keep your good tips coming...you are the best.

Danny, you are the most innovative TH-cam instructor I have ever watched. Your passion for teaching really shines through all of your videos. Because of your video on how easy it is to change golf club grips, I decided to try it myself, since we are in lockdown and can't take it anyplace for someone else to do it. Complete success! Your videos are making a difference to us viewers! Thank you! Jeff

Great Tip! I have a fundamentally sound golf swing after watching videos of my swing and making adjustments. However I continued to struggle compressing the ball and barely scraping the ground behind the ball resulting in shots that just wouldn't fly properly from time to time. I never would have thought that the clubface angle on the downswing would have that type of effect but it really is a brain thing I think..? I looked at a video of my swing prior to trying your tip and my clubface was not open but it wasn't completely parallel to my torso. First try and simply magic! Divot after the ball! Really enjoy your videos! I started watching your videos about 9 months ago. Found this one searching for answers.

My instructor is trying to get me do this. To keep the club face closed, you bow your left wrist. You have to feel over bowing your left wrist. Anyway it is hard to retrain your body. You have to do this drill but refrain from the full swing. I will keep doing this drill for weeks. My instructor didn't explain it well enough especially on why I am flipping as my body trying to adjust to the open club face. Your explanation makes everything much more clear.

...love this, tried the closed clubhead drill today in our club net (before the rain), it really does work - still trying to get the feet working Danny (bottle top style) , but focussing on the left foot on the downswing does seem to be helping me to open a bit more at impact and so strike it better - thanks, happy new year.

Thanks Danny. Love this. Just shared this to a golf WhatsApp group I'm on, hopefully will get some new subscribers for you and help their golf games too. Something that I started trying and it seems to work, I use a foot powder spray on the club head to see where I impacted the club, but now I am spraying it on my artificial grass to see where my club hits or doesnt hit behind the ball, works great. Danny been trying it out in the net in the garden AND IT WORKS !!! Great feel and then when you swing normally you are in the groove, Big problem Monty the Spaniel couldnt quite understand why his ball was being thrown into a net rather than for him.
    Keep well and safe.

Awesome drill! Similar to what you are explaining, I have simplified my swing thought to where I pick a spot (blade of grass, discolored grass, goose poop, broken tee) about 3-4 inches in front of the tee and an inch or 2 just right of that spot. My goal is to have club head to go towards that spot. Like you said your body will correct your movement. This swing towards 'cliche' right field forces your hands to turnover, hit very powerful and straighter shots (nice draw). What's very interesting is I cannot play any of my irons, hybrid or 3 wood forward of center. I play my wedges-7 iron to my back toe and my 6 iron - 4 iron just a ball forward of my back toe my 3 iron to 3 wood is played just a ball or two forward of back toe. My driver is played just a ball or two in front of center. I tried the traditional ball position and it was so frustrating and inconsistent. I told myself let's see where I am grounding the club and it was towards my back toe with my seven iron. So, I play all my clubs with strong grip and slightly closed clubface. When I do put my club down it is neutral. My forearms feel springy and my hands just naturally released. By doing this I have increased my club head speed and accuracy. I have lowered my handicap from a 12 to 7-8. Some of my weekend playing partners asked me about this and I said it works for me. They started moving their ball position gradually from middle to a ball or two back from middle. They have seen tremendous improvements. My question is why does it work for me? Is due to my body make up? I have longer arms and shorter torso. But, playing the ball middle or forward of middle doesn't work for me.

I think you've got it spot on, there is no exact formula to follow because we are all built differently.

    Hi Danny,
    a) just read in Adam Youngs ‚the practice manual‘ about THE BETTER TEACHERS, who are MOVING AWAY FROM FORM, FOCUSING MORE ON FUNCTION OF THE SWING...and bet he means you by this 😀. At least, this is what I appreciate most from all your lessons.
    b) would love to get any hint from you on how to practice loose wrists combined with tight enough grip pressure...my hands seem unable to coordinate this or better say isolate both states.
    c) So happy to have found your Channel. Hope you have as much fun as us, the visitors and spectators...Go, Danny!
    Regards from northern germany, Carola

Thats really kind thank you. Yes I think our form for many skills can look similar but it shouldn't have to be the same. We are all unique in our own way. This is so important to understand as we get older as our bodies age differently and thus we must make unique changes to adapt and keep them functional

Great tip as always, I’ve been working on this closed clubface all week. It’s a powerful hit and I noticed a much shallower divot and a lovely draw shape. For me the next step is learning to start the downswing with my lead shoulder instead of engaging my rear hip first. That early hip motion is causing me to almost stand up through impact. So I am trying to stay down over impact. For me I have to feel all the actions to understand them but I’m getting there. On a side note Danny I’d love to see your swing left handed, ie through a mirror. Thanks

Thanks Danny, I was enquiring last wk about this and you said you'd put up a video alright, this was super. I'd imagine for a left hander using the tennis ball throwing tool that they just need to turn it upside down and hold it out to their left side and not have to do a backhand type swing , or am I wrong? 😁

Danny, great drill. You know that thing you say about the body being smart ? I have a fair amount of evidence of mine being a bit of an idiot. Last week's lesson being applied daily in the improvised net in the garden, will add this component for this week. Thanks for the lessons - not least so we know it is Saturday.
