Thanks Trevor, you fixed the problem I've been trying to fix for years. Hitting behind the golf ball. Your explanation made perfect since. All I did was go to the driving range and followed your instructions. I enjoy playing golf again. Thanks. MR
Love this!!
Thanks Trevor, best complete explantion of setup (setup for dummies) i have ever seen.
chet moore chesapeake va. a similar one you did with Eric cogorno was also very good.
Thanks Chet!
Beautifully explained and demonstrated, thank you. Can't wait to give this a try.
Thanks Stephen! Always good stuff from Trevor!!
Pinpoint accuracy on solving the problem. Great drill. Works wonders.
Thanks Geoffrey! Good stuff
Great video. Ive been drilling this for the past 3 days. Seems to be helping a lot!
Thanks Mike! Great to hear!
Nice video Trevor. The part I often forget is to push the hip slightly forward at setup. This helps to keep weight on the left side mostly.
Absolutely!
Well done. You’re thorough. Thanks
Appreciate it Nelson! Good stuff from Trevor!
Good info I’m a senior golfer and will give this a try, thanks!
Thanks! Good stuff from Trevor---hope this helps!
Wow, fantastic video!

Thanks Terry!
Top shelf 👍
Thanks!
Nice explanation
Thanks Jacob! Trevor is awesome!!
Very good instructions. Could this method be used for 3 ,5 wood and hybrid? Thanks
Thanks Perry! Yes---anytime the ball is on the ground could work!
@@CogornoGolfEric, I tried and greatly reduced my fat shots. Thanks
I've been struggling with the weight-forward, spine tilt right position. It puts me in a position where I'm constantly hitting the ground way behind the ball. I understand the pivot point at the left shoulder but when two hands are on the club, I thought the pivot point becomes around the sternum. With the right tilt, the sternum falls behind the ball, and so does the low point (5:25 in the video). At 5:53, I see how with the forward shaft lean and proper release, your low point is past the ball but I simply haven't been able to time the release to achieve this so the club always slams the ground. I feel like there's a missing element with my rhythm that's preventing me from releasing naturally that allows impact with forward shaft lean. I'm on the paid plan, so I'd love some pointers to videos that might help me dial this in.
Hey! Of course I would need to see to say for sure but it sounds to me like the missing element for you is rotation.
Spine tilt moves your low point back.........but important to help shallow club.........rotation (chest/ribcage) brings it back forward
Try this one....this will combo the tilt and the turn together for ya I bet it solves it: th-cam.com/video/gPFnGuxIqUA/w-d-xo.html&pp=ygUfRXJpYyBDb2dvcm5vIHRvdXIgbGlrZSByb3RhdGlvbg%3D%3D
These setup principles work as evidenced by the fact that you hit perfect golf shots using them. Setup aside what you are able to do very fluidly and what I and a slew of amateurs can’t is move the weight into the lead leg prior to impact. That is the only way to prevent fat shots
👊
Appreciate you watching!
Is this drill good with all clubs or just irons??? Hybrid and woods??
Hey Mark!
This one is best for all clubs when the ball is on the ground.
The video below goes over the driver and iron differences, I think you'll enjoy checking it out. Let us know if any questions after watching!

Simple and effective
Thanks! Hope it helps!
My early release issues are driving me crazy, I usually put a towel behind the ball, and then abandon the drill as I continually hit the towel, I’ll definitely give this drill a go .. thanks
Hope this one helps, Stephen!
Good shit
Thank you! Trevor is great!
@@CogornoGolf Eric, I got the irons down pretty good. Need help with the driver getting off the tee. May hit 2 fairways a round. From Fl, now in ga at a private course. Mr. Short game plays at the same club. If you ever up I can take you. My issue is it’s like hitting down a two lane road and if you miss it s lost ball penalty…..
Eric, what shoes do you wear?
When you do this is there less of a moving the body forward since you already have some weight shifted and spine tilt at address?
Thats right!
Heres a good one on the amount of shifting back and through as a good model with this: th-cam.com/video/HW_2oEY9B0U/w-d-xo.html&pp=ygUZRXJpYyBDb2dvcm5vIHdlaWdodCBzaGlmdA%3D%3D
What change do you make with Driver

You have been showing a lot of Trevor lately. Do you have a plan to have some other instructors on here. Not that I don't like Trevor, but good to hear different perspectives.
Hey! For sure!

So should a person with this issue ever go back to a regular setup and if so when? Also should your hands be over left shoe or low point or should your left shoe be at low point?
Hey!
Thats up to you. If you hit it best like this perfectly OK to stay like this :)
They should be over left leg/shoe at and just past impact
@@CogornoGolf thanks for the help. You and Trevor are awesome 👌 👍
I understand the benefit of de-lofting the club but this takes it to a whole new level. No thanks!
holy cow ! Two days with the trainer I couldn’t fix my problem and got so angry. Then today i watched your video and holyyyyyyyy it works magic!! Thank u dear ! U are quite hot also hahaha
Glad this one helped!!
And with your hands that far in front of the ball ,doesn’t that open the club face?? I’m only into golf a few years and that seems different for me. Obviously not been hitting the ball crisp!!!
Hey Mark!
Yes, the shaft lean opens the club face to the TARGET...but closes the club face to the SHAFT. This is an essential piece for a push-draw (a ball pattern that starts right of the target and draws back to the flag as a right-handed player)
Hope this one helps!
Is this a drill or actually how you'd set up every time?
This is how you would set up every time. Weight forward, handle just inside lead thigh. During the swing keep weight on the lead foot and pivot around it. Trail leg with straighten and lead leg will bend.
Hey Matt! Its meant to be a drill but you could certainly do it as your normal if it improved the players performance. No rules.
Eric on a bathroom break?
Quite possibly.
I know, right? Trevor is awesome too, but we love our boy Eric! :-)
Lol :)
Just buy a L.A.B. putter and you will be a better putter 🤣
100%! :)
I think this is going to be visually intimidating for the average golfer. And you may even promote an excessively steep angle of attack. I love ya Trevor, but there are better drills to address fat shots.
These are basic Stack and Tilt principles. Just my opinion but I think the average golfer would benefit from just the set up. The first fundamental of golf is solid contact.
Most other drills teach a weight shift into the trail leg and then forward again. Very hard for amateurs to time that up.
Not if the player already has a problem with being way ro shallow and hits alot of fat shots .
Thanks for the feedback!
Couldn't agree more with this comment. This would screw a ton of swings up.
