Sick video & review! I was wondering if the light has a 1/4” 20 or 3/8” connector along with the light stand connector?

Thank you! 🙌 So sadly it’s just the light stand, there is no 1/4” or 3/8”

@@BenGleasonMedia Thx! Darn that's a bummer, it could work really well with the Impact Boom Stand that worked really well with the G100

No handle, please. Just keep it small and portable as possible.

i imagine that i'td be hard to integrate the light stand locking mechanism into the device itself as well as there would be no tilt functionality. Also, I bet that you can probably remove the "handle"

This is really confusing. Is it one brick or two bricks? I gather there are 2, but they look almost identical. Why are they never shown at the same time in the video? It all seems very fishy to me.

Yo! So there are two separate pieces to the light. The control box and the light head. The control box connects to the light via a wire. Sorry I didn’t include a shot of them setup together, you can see them in the case here 0:57 Nothing fishy 🐠

You have obviously not used many lights before lol. Almost every LED light on the market right now comes with a ballast (control box that also supplements power). He didn't show them at the same time because it is fairly obvious how that works to someone who works with lights.

@@cooperroth4234 You are right, I have not worked with many lights. Ballasts however are only for fluorescent lights and HIDs, not LEDs like this one. LEDs are usually driven by a switched-mode power supply (integrated or not).

@@luftstolle You literally just explained what a ballast is LOL. Ballasts are an antiquated term in the sense that they used to be defined by flourescenets and HIDs, but the term ballast and concept are 100% used in conjuntion with modern film LED technology and even with HMIs. When referring to an electronic ballasts nowadays, most people are refrencing the ballasts that are based on switched-mode power supplys, like the one this light uses and almost every Aperture light. The term ballast just refers to the control box that encapsulates a switched-mode power supply. Which is why on a real set you would never hear someone say "make sure to attach the switched-mode power supply to the c-stand" LOL you would just say attach the ballast to the c-stand. No need to educate on something that 1) you don't know about and 2) was not even the point of your comment. The point is that almost every high powered LED film light needs a connected power supply.
