  • How do you detail a car that hasn't been cleaned in months? This Tesla hasn't seen a bucket or a hose in over four months. After returning from a cross country road trip it was long overdue for an in depth cleaning.
    Starting with the dirtiest area, which on any detail is the wheels. We use the Easy Reach Wheel Brush to the contour to the spokes and intricate crevices of the rim making sure all the road grime, debris and brake dust have been removed for a perfectly clean wheel. Thick suds created by Diablo Wheel Gel help to emulsify surface filth making it easier to clean. Adding extra cleaning power and lubrication using Sticky Citrus Wheel Cleaner insures a scratch-free finish.

    Detailing the face of the wheel using the Green Flagged Tip Brush carefully knocks down the brake dust in the most obvious area. Lastly, removing grime and previous dressings from the tire using the Stiffy Blue Brush to reveal a clean tire that new dressings can bond to the surface and last!

    So what's so special about this diablo wheel gel? A few videos ago when you were cleaning the wheel on the blue mustang , you didn't use the diablo wheel gel. Just the sticky citrus spray.
    And now in this video, you use both.
    Just curious as to what to do and which to buy.
    Thanks.

    Just one question. When I clean my wheels like you do I notice the bucket gets really dirty very fast. Should I use a rinse bucket before dipping the brush into the soap or just keep changing water? Thanks! :D

    • @ChemicalGuys
      @ChemicalGuys  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Ahmad, thanks for watching this informative video. The water will always get dirty, that's why we use a two bucket system to reduce using the same dirty water. We also use dirt traps which help separate the clean water from the dirty water that gets trapped at the bottom of the bucket.

    Love your videos- very informative and helpful. I have a question- I have a 2016 2SS Caramo with the "Low Gloss black aluminum" wheels and while I can clean them, I for the life of me can't figure out how to make them pop and stand out after cleaning. A video would be great! Keep up the great work!

      you are making very good and reliable products and very usefull videos
      I would also like to see a video how to polish my car by hand with your products ( v43,v36,v38 )
      until then can you tell my if i can use that products by hand ?

    • @ChemicalGuys
      @ChemicalGuys  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Giannis, yes you can, we generally use a machine in our vides because it's faster. To polish by hand, you will need a microfiber applicator and a polish, or compound. Dab some product on the microfiber applicator pad, and apply in even strokes. You want to avoid circular motions to create any additional swirling, or smearing. Always move in straight lines, and work in small manageable spaces. Depending on the severity of the scratches, you could start with VSS for light scratches and swirls. If the scratching is very severe, you will need to compound, and finish with a polish. Typically you would start out with the least aggressive approach, if that doesn't work, than a compound and medium to high density pad should get most of it out. You will want to use a light density applicator pad with a finishing polish to create a smoother, more refined look your paint.

    Looks great, but I can't justify using a whole spray bottle for 4 wheels...

    • @MrBalll
      @MrBalll 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Shouldn't have to. I can use a full spray bottle on four sets of wheels. Could probably last for five or six; I just like to spray a lot of product onto my wheels.

    • @ChemicalGuys
      @ChemicalGuys  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Wendy, it's true, waxing, sealing and coating is the best way to prevent the wheels from becoming dirty. Also keep in mind that break dust, metal shavings, and road grime will buildup over time, and is the significant cause of your wheels dirty appearance.

    • @hakman239
      @hakman239 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      no need for that mate if pressure washer caused damage like that they wouldn't sell them for car purposes iv alwaysed used it neve had any problems mines only 110 bar would cause damege if its like 3000psi+ i dont know about your situation if you have damaged them but its a personal opinion

    • @metalmeltdown31
      @metalmeltdown31 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, a pressure washer will not wreck your brakes... If you aim at your TPMS you can potentially ruin it, but even that can be avoided by common sense.

    • @ChemicalGuys
      @ChemicalGuys  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for watching. We've washed numerous wheels with the pressure washer before, and have never damaged anything. We wanted to emphasize cleaning the wheels by hand this time around, we'll use the pressure in the future for others videos. Thanks for being part of the Chemical Guys family. Cheers!
