@@smudgetherealmc I'll repeat the comment I made on its own... "In the UK, the only wheel cleaner I've come across which does a proper job to alloy wheels is Wonder Wheels. It's horribly acidic stuff though and you definitely don't want to leave it on too long. This might be the old formula which I have, I've heard rumours the new formula is less acidic and less effective, but I haven't tried it, so don't know for sure."
Wonder Wheels was a revelation, after trying all sorts of cleaners which didn't really seem to do much. I recommended it to a friend after he had also tried a load of cleaners and none of them really worked. Things may have changed now, I haven't bought a lot of wheel cleaners in more recent times, since I found the one which worked! I did buy some modern Wonder Wheels Colour Active spray on stuff recently but I haven't tried it yet. I wouldn't have thought it would work as well as the old acid stuff, but I'm prepared to be surprised! I would expect it to be a bit gentler than the old one though. I just did a search and you can get "Wonder Wheels Original" these days as well. Edit: Just watched a review on TH-cam and it says the Colour Active worked better than the "Original" - though the "Original" doesn't seem as strong as the one I have from the 1990s!

Once again a top-notch comparison. The unbiased reviews you do are very valuable to us consumers. Many TH-cam channels strive to be unbiased as they start up, but as they grow beyond a certain size eventually can't resist the temptation to do sponsored "reviews" and end up depending on the income from the sponsored promotions. Your channel is a unique exception in this regard.

Using a test tire with raised white lettering would have shown the differences between the products better than an all black tire. This is due to two reasons: 1)The white letters show dirt more than black, and 2)The rough texture of the white letters (due to the tire manufacturing process) makes them harder to clean than the smooth surfaces.
For anyone who wants their tires to look really good: I apply tire cleaner all the on all 4 wheels then a second coat followed by a tire brush. After that, I use a power washer on the tires and they look how I want them to.

When the buttons pressed how quick the phone notifys you on and off local wifi, subscription required or not, motion detection(again how quick to notify you), battery life, if the clips start recording in time(sometimes the person is already leaving), price, if it comes with a normal ringer, and lots more easy ones. Similar with smart battery CCTV. Pressure washers too maybe? Solar panels(watts per $, output compared to the advertised wattage, sqft per watt).

I have my favorite tire cleaner, available at wal mart in the household cleaning isle. Only for tires, its called "Spray Power" made by "Crown". When sprayed on tires, it pulls the grime from the tires with no scrubbing, rinse, apply your favorite tire shine, and a clean tire makes the tire shine look so much better
    Edit: around 4.50-5.00 per gallon.

Depending on the rim, I've found wiping the rims down with a dry rag is the best and fastest way to clean them. I've found cleaners, ANY cleaner, to make the dirt (mostly brake dust) gooey and smears all over the rims and makes more of a mess than you had before you started... otherwise, just a brush and some carwash soap in a bucket of water will do it. The brush also cleans the tires, no acids, no goo, no burned drip spots. Thanks for another great video!

Back in my pipefitting days, I used to fit high pressure separator units (1440 P.S.I. MAWP and up). A lot of projects were spec'd in with Bonney Forge brand fittings. Mainly because they had/have proven quality control (ISO 9001 and API certified) and all fittings had full traceability (no fake mill test reports). Even they would often leak without a thread sealant.
A thread sealant is a must if the connection doesn't use a polymer seal such as an O-ring boss (ORB) or a gasket of some sort. Even hammer unions that are machined to each other would leak without a rubber O-ring.
The biggest concern with offshore fittings is the material it's self. That being what the fittings are claimed to be made of and whether they will stand up to the alleged ratings that a properly made fitting would be capable of.

    • @cheweh842
      @cheweh842 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

@@A.C._Taylor Good point about thread sealant--that could be yet another video idea. I've found best to worst for NPT up to 2" are loctite 567, blue monster tape, and last are the ubiquitous cheap white teflon tape and blue pipe dope. But my experience was a lot of jerry-rigging low pressure applications, trying out junk that leaked at 0 psi no matter what.

Hello again Project Farm my friend. Your videos are number one. I made a discovery about cleaning wheels, because I ran out of my favorite cleaner, ( Mean Green.) I used DAWN PRE WASH DISH SOAP and saw a miracle. That stuff cleans rubber and rims better than anything I have found yet. You made another great video!

I use Purple Power and here is a tip... the cleaners that say "Foaming" are usually due to the sprayer and not the product. Foaming is good at allowing the product to "cling" to what you spray. So, I put Purple Power in the Foaming sprayer and it foams and clings more instead of running off quickly and allows it more time to work. Dont chuck the sprayer. Reuse it.
    Happy cleaning ❤❤❤

I followed your advice and used Meguiar's, a brand I never heard of. Worked GREAT! Consider testing household cleaners and wheels and tires -- 409 and Simple Green, for example. [I use Simple Green on table saw blades. Fabulous.]

The Adam’s wheel and tire cleaner is amazing! I off-road my truck and it legitimately made my tires look like new. Thank you PF!

Good work. Took me a moment to realize why the same products that didn't do well on the performance tests also didn't hurt the unprotected aluminum - they didn't do anything at all in the first place!

i use the sonax wheel cleaner... stuff is awesome.. spray it on, it turns all the iron deposits from your pads red. once the red stops running down the wheel, spray it clean with a hose

This is a test I am so glad you did. The one bottle I didn't see was Chemical Guys Diablo wheel cleaner I wonder how it would work in this test. Super excellent video by the way❤

Great video. With the potential for the better cleaners to corrode or discoloration to alloy if not completely removed, this video is as good of a reminder as any to carefully remove all of the cleaner. Despite the amount of additional work, I've had good luck in the past cleaning alloy wheels with them completely taken off the vehicle - generally with a dedicated spray cleaner and a scrub brush, in a dedicated wash bay for drainage. Not only did it clean better than any other scenario, but I had a lot more confidence that I rinsed better, from every angle.
Anyway, thanks for running this test so we can see 1.) what works, and 2.) what marginal returns you get/don't get for spending more on a cleaning product.
