Kudos to Yamaha for getting rid of that "diver's face" split dash. This looks wayyyyy better

I commend Yamaha for trying something different. Okay, the nose portion is very odd but practically, having the two screens is pretty useful.
they didn't upgrade on regular model ,,still has snorkel look
I have the tracer 9gt and have the' face 'dash and I had issues but I look past it now and find it plentiful with the information.

Looks a nice bike, if they put that tft on all their Tracer 9s, id probably be riding one now. I couldn't put up with the micky mouse dash on the standard GT

I love my Tracer 9 GT, wish mine had this dash though, however thats a personal preference, my two main downsides on mine are the fuel gauge being 1 bar from full to half, then 3 to empty, cause you don't really know how much fuel you have if going for a longer ride out. The other is no right angle valves on the tyres but thats an easy fix. Everything else, bar the weird face looking dash that I have gotten used to, has been an absolute joy!
I was concerned with the odd fuel gauge, but one of the options you can select on the dash is fuel consumed, yes? Wouldn't that suffice as a more accurate fuel gauge since you know it has an 18L tank and can thus track fuel better with that?
Nice video Dan, test rode the hornet yesterday at crescent Honda Southampton they had a tracer ( not demo ) which I did have a look at, I’m leaning towards the mt07 , ktm duke 790 , possibly the z900 what do you think, the hornet was nice but didn’t blow me away, I’m coming from a adv 350 👍

Tracer 9gt Plus Prime Max is seemingly a great bike. I just home it comes to Japan by the end of the year. We waited over 4years for the tenere, and the tracer 7 and world-rid won't come to japan at all...

Hi Geoff, many thanks. It's the Shark D-Skwal 2 Zarco rep. It's not very quiet sadly, despite how it seems.
The only way to get the screens right is to make them big.

What did you think of the screen, Dan? I ask because all of the in depth reviews ive seen criticise it as particularly noisy & creates air vortex' making unpleasant wind blast buffeting....
We did mostly back roads, so I'll need to give one a run on the motorway. Watch this space for an in-depth review coming in July.
Get the ACC version if you are prone to long motorways, you won't regret it.
Could you comment on whether the forward slope of the seat has been fixed. I have the Tracer 9 GT and the forward slope moves me closer to the tank with every big bump I go over.
I didn't feel much of that on this bike. I don't think it's totally gone but it's certainly much better than the old Tracer 900GT.

Hey Dan! Superb video as always! What puts me off is Garmin's subscription for the SATNAV. Most bikes now come with Android Auto, so, that's a bit of a dissapointment from YAMAHA. Sooner or later Android Auto will rule all. Looking forward to an indepth review when you get the chance! ❤

Its Saturday April 27 & I'm picking up mine this afternoon & to say I'm looking forward to it would be an understatement - I saw where a dyno had it at 108 hp at the rear wheel but did you say it had 133 at the crank ??
117 at the crank. If the spec sheet is to be believed.

Other than the paint (which is a tad boring but not that bad) I can’t think of a negative. It’s so much cheaper than an XR and has enough power for me.

i like how much information you gave us, but we didnt really see the bike, and radar guided cruise control on a bike, how does that work? maybe an off bike explanation, a bit of science. fortnine is excellent at this kinda stuff.

Why only Honda makes DCT?
Is it really difficult for other companies to make their own?
Maybe Honda manged to get hold of all of the tech patents and are not allowing them to license them. At least until Honda creates enough of a headstart. DCT's first iteration was introduced back in 2012 if I'm not mistaken, but it wasn't widely adopted across their range. Only the VFR1200 and its cross tourer variant had it. I hope to see more DCT-like options from other brands hopefully soon

Great feeling from your review, I've got a tracer 700 amazing bike, have to say I was surprised how much good luggage costs (£900) so yeah this bike is probably worth that money inc the luggage pack..😅

Great bike, really wish it had keyless ignition but apart from that, seems almost perfect.
Please no, every manufacturer that makes the uber pointless keyless ignition also makes the key weigh about half a kilo. More expense for no benefit.
My new Yamaha xmax is keyless and I just don’t get it what was wrong with the normal key system. Completely useless
Tbh i cant see why it needs all theses configurations and rider modes, on a bike with 117 horses ( claimed ) i would of prefered them to re tune that engine closer to 150plus PSI, or even better bring out the bike all tracer fans want MT10 tracer 😊
You can just leave it in one mode and pretend it doesn't have them. Job done. 😬
This new Tracer 9 GT+ is so expensive in Canada. It costs almost as much as a KTM 1290 Super Adventure S. I have no idea why the Tracer is so expensive here. The GT was already borderline ridiculous in price, the GT+? Forget it. At that price, may as well just get the bigger bike for just an extra $1000. Heck, with the clearance end of season deals going on right now, you can actually get a 1290 Super Adventure S CHEAPER than what a Tracer 9 GT+ will cost next year.
Keep hearing everywhere how great of a value for price the Tracer is, but not here in Canada. =(

If it was £12k I would buy one but £15k for a cheaply built Yamaha puts it in the same price range as a Multistrada V2S. I own a 2020 Tracer 900GT and a 2022 MT09SP so I can evidence the cheaply built comment.
V2S is a nice bike, but that engine is so boring. I don't quite know how they managed it as on the Supersport, Monster and Hypermotard it's great! Yeah, some Yam's do suffer a bit but I think they've improved over the past few years from what I've seen myself. My '22 Tracer 9 GT looks smashing.
Can you please stop talking about specs? It's SO BORING. I can read a spec sheet for myself. The ONLY thing I care about is subjective riding impressions. That is what I can't get easily.

What's happens if you're using the cruise control and some arsehole comes flying up and jumps into the gap between you and the car in front.
Does the bike shit itself and slam the anchor's on, or what.
If it's dangerously close, the bike would brake. If not, it would slow down to maintain the set distance setting that you'd chosen.
