      @@falsesectslikeshiaarejudeo6543 Well, yes, I suppose he is inconsistent at times and still seems to be figuring things out theologically. (But then, so am I!) It does seem to be the case that Sir Anthony Buzzard has rejected the Trinity, but seeks to maintain the Christian religion more or less intact. I don't think it's possible, to my mind, if the Christian Bible has been messed-up so badly that there's little left that can be considered authentic or reliable (just pieces here and pieces there).
      At the end of the day, I thought it was a great discussion between two intelligent and respectful gentlemen! As it should be.

    33:11 - the 'gotcha!' moment. But all due respect to Sir Anthony Buzzard who demonstrated humility with answering the question and did not resort to Bible gymnastics. Very refreshing to see someone who is honest enough to admit when they don't have the answer rather than to improvise incessantly; A lot of Christians could learn a thing or two from him. May Allah guide him.

    We need to be aware of what saying regarding God. God wants us to be known , recognised and worshipped the way he wants and not they way we think about him that's why he sent all prophets and messegers.
    Without them we would never know anything about him.

    What a cracking challenge 👏 'If baptism achieves forgiveness of sins what's the point of Jesus death on the cross?'

    • @Thedisciplemike

      We are baptized into Christ, that's why. We aren't baptized separately

    • @AnalyseThat
      @AnalyseThat 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm not sure what that means for you.

    • @Thedisciplemike
      @Thedisciplemike 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AnalyseThat being baptized is basically your display of dying to your sins and following Christ. It's a part of being "born again" or "born from above".
      "This means everlasting life, their coming to know you, the only true God, and the one whom you sent, Jesus Christ."
      "Or do YOU not know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? Therefore we were buried with him through our baptism into his death, in order that, just as Christ was raised up from the dead through the glory of the Father, we also should likewise walk in a newness of life. For if we have become united with him in the likeness of his death, we shall certainly also be [united with him in the likeness] of his resurrection; because we know that our old personality was impaled with [him], that our sinful body might be made inactive, that we should no longer go on being slaves to sin. For he who has died has been acquitted from [his] sin. 8 Moreover, if we have died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him. For we know that Christ, now that he has been raised up from the dead, dies no more; death is master over him no more"
      Also
      "For the wages sin pays is death, but the gift God gives is everlasting life by Christ Jesus our Lord."

    • @AnalyseThat
      @AnalyseThat 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Thedisciplemike You must be in some kind of a weird dream for none of what you believe was preached by Jesus. A touch of reality might help: Actually, you are NOT yet dead nor buried - you'll need immerse yourself in water for a while longer to achieve that! Neither are you acquitted of your sins which you accumulate everyday - surely you know that yourself. As for your resurrection, I don't know when you imagine that to be. The fanciful story of parousia (rising in glory with Christ) was concocted by Paul, who promised it would happen in his lifetime - but it's not happened for 2000 years! Sorry for the disappointment but Jesus is not coming back - you were duped by a dodgy salesman called Paul.

    • @Thedisciplemike
      @Thedisciplemike 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AnalyseThat If you deny Paul, then you have to deny the whole Bible, and even Jesus our Lord. That puts you in a strange situation if you call yourself a Christian. You can say Paul lied or whatever all you want if you don't call yourself a Christian (however, your argument is pretty weak if you don't have anything to back your argument with). And remember, this isn't Paul's doctrine, but Christ's; Matthew 28:19, John 3:3.
      It is true that when we die our sins are acquitted. But if we are to enter into the Kingdom, ruling with Christ as Kings and Priests, gaining immortality, as taught by Jesus, Peter, Paul, Luke, John, and James, then we must be born again, or born from above, i.e, die to our life of sin, our life of our own will and live in God's will, having been called by Him to be His Sons and Daughters. This is the whole message of the NT, the "Good News", the Gospel taught by Christ. It doesn't mean those not called won't be resurrected. They just won't be a part of that first resurrection to immortality and rulers of God's Kingdom

    Just to clear up Paul's question about the ministry of John somehow undermined by the cross. The Baptist did say "After me will come One more powerful than I, the straps of whose sandals I am not worthy to stoop down and untie. I baptize you with water, but He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit." Mar 1.7-8.
    In other words, the Baptist himself recognized that he was sent/commissioned to "prepare the way for the Lord," that is the lord Messiah.

    John the Baptist is a prophet of God and is undoubtedly of higher status than any of the direct disciples of Jesus, let alone paul of tarsus who has never met Jesus , to say that John’s baptism is inferior to Paul’s is nonsense.one would expect the holy sprit to support john’s baptism ( who is acknowledged by Jesus himself ) rather than supporting Paul’s .
    Also on a different subject that you were discussing,only Jesus can abolish or change some of the teachings of the law of the Torah , because this is a huge thing , to say Paul has also the right to change that law is a big stretch, the authority to change Prophet Moses laws is not light
    Nevertheless we have enjoyed that zoom session, thank you for sharing this with us.

    A thoroughly respectful and thought provoking theological discussion between two gentlemen seeking the truth.The Biblical Unitarian belief system that Sir Anthony Buzzard discusses, offers a more accurate understanding of what early century Christians believed before the sad events of the fourth century ecumenical councils - that Jesus is the son of God, the chosen Messiah. At no point did Jesus ever claim to be God, or in any way equal to God. He was a faithful servant of God, even up to the point of death on the cross. Jesus repeatedly taught and affirmed God's singularity "Hear, O Israel: the LORD is our God, the LORD is one" (Deuteronomy 6:4). This verse encapsulates the monotheistic essence of Judaism, as well as that of early century Christianity. Through the centuries there have always existed Unitarian Christians who have rejected the Trinity, many of whom have been terribly persecuted by so-called Christians (Trinitarians) for their faith.

    Irony is very talented Christian scholars do understand the Gospels ( 4x Books from new Testament) authenticity and
    its texts. Its humen nature & in ours DNA we all accept the TRUTH regardless which way it took us.
    Good intellect discussion.

    I just came across your wonderful channel and successively become addicted to your videos. Can I ask your opinion on pantheism? It has striking similarity to the Sufis mysticism as it shares the notions of the entirety of the real being (truth) attributed to one God and the very fact that God cannot be a being without “absolute” encompassing presence and the universe or shall we say in all the multiverses, if any, should essentially be a part of this supereme being to make that being a God! If we accept this notion ( Ibn Arabi being the first advocate of it is Islamic Sufism) then I wouldn’t nag too much about the Christian trinity or essentially any delusional misinterpretation one may make!

    Dear Paul (if I may),
    Did I understand you correctly that you said you are a Muslim, but not 'officially'? If so, can I ask if you have met many others in the same situation as yourself i.e. people who basically believe in Islam, but have not adopted, as their official identity, the title of "Muslim"?
    I do not mean to put any pressure on you at all concerning this; I am just *very* curious about how many people out there are as convinced about the truth of Islam as you are, and yet have not taken on the identity "Muslim" in any official way.

    Assalamualaikum brother Paul. thank you for your precious videos.I think in my very humble point of view that among the reasons a lot of christians revert to Islam is that the gospel or the bible is proved to be written by different people where in a lot of passages or verses one contradicts the other and thus creating this sort of complications to the receiver. The revelation of the Quran wich is the words of God directly to his prophet Muhammad peace be upon him seems logic to correct all the chaos and corruption that writers of the gospel created. I think when God sent his prophets peace be upon them all to show mankind throughout history the truth he subhanah sent some of his messengers carrying books like Torah Gospel Quran and other books. so what was the inner intention of those who replaced words by others to fit and match and etc... we're they better than God himself in chosing the right words!

    Matthew 15:11
    "What goes into someone’s mouth does not defile them, but what comes out of their mouth, that is what defiles them.”
    Again, Jesus directs people to see that, it is our internal thoughts and attitudes towards our neighbours and our creator God are what truly matters.

But really, i understand the right he has to choose wisely, because salvation is on the line, but just don't abuse that right😄

    Regarding the baptism of John the Baptist in Acts 19, there is no indication that Paul thought these individuals sins had not been adequately forgiven through the baptism of John. The text also indicates that these men may not even have known of the message /ministy of Jesus? I do not think it is unfair to assume assume that Paul shared the gospel message with these men thus allowing them to be baptised into the name of Jesus, thereby allowing them to recieve the gift of the Holy Spirit when Paul laid his hands on them. Again, there is no reference as to the adequacy or otherwise concerning the forgiveness of sins. This passage should be read in light of a similar occurance concerning re-baptism in Acts 8. Again here, the purpose of re-baptism has nothing, according to the text, to do with the forgiveness of sins but rather with the infilling of the holy spirit. This is particulary acute here, as the passage says they were already baptised into the name of Jesus. But despite already being baptised into the name of Jesus they had not received the infilling of the Holy Spirit whihc then occured through the laying on of hands.

    Paul never met Jesus, he tortured Christians, why wouldn't Jesus choose one of his diciples who he lived with to preach law doesn't apply to them. Why Paul - what relationship did he have to change the whole message of Jesus.

  • @omarmirza9957
    @omarmirza9957 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Sir Anthony brought up Acts 19; but in Acts 19, the apostle Paul acknowledges that John's baptism was a baptism of repentance; he doesn't challenge the efficacy of that baptism for repentance, but thinks that receiving the Holy Spirit goes beyond what John's baptism can offer. So I think this does not challenge what Paul Williams was saying.

      Jesus never said that he is God that's a fact (In the Bible also no mentioning about Jesus as GOD or a god). It's pure a human fabrication ( The Council of Nicaea established this "biggest scam all time"). May God help our Christian brothers and sisters to find the way back to The One and Only God.
