Running for 16 years and these nagging pains is common. Great video to remind me it’s all about flexibility. One of the best and informative video I’ve seen in a long time.
Just adapt to barefoot it will take some time, but it will change your life.. I still don't get it why it's not common think. I believe it will be in the future, but we have so many evidence about benefits of barefoot it's unbelievable how they don't take over the world..

My son finished a cross country race and then came up with a bad ankle. He's the fast freshman in MD with a 16:52. Now he's worried he's gonna miss states. Seeing an ortho today. I hope he can get going in about 10 days
Deep water running is my go to sport for any injury. The motions are just like running but it’s in a pool deep enough for you not to touch the bottom. Great work out, no joint stress. Just remember to hydrate!

Hello doctor, I injured my knees 8 months ago. I'm fully recovered now. Also I have gained considerable weight during this period. I started jogging 2 weeks ago, but only did that for about a week. The problem was that when I run in the morning, after about 20 to 25 minutes of running, I'm getting a very sharp stinging pain at the outer 'ankle', more like inside of that pit or depression near the outer ankle. And this pain eventually radiates to behind the leg especially at the lower calf and the region below it. The pain goes on for about 5 to 10 minutes even after I stop running. Can you please give me any insight into this?

QUESTION: After warm up I am coming on the treadmill for running set it up on 3500 walking slowly till get my body warm. After 8-10 minutes the pain start slowly from lower part of tibia and fibula down to ankle front (anterior) side getting worse if I continue I lose my control of taking steps. My weight is 260 and height is 6,4. Then I have to take break for few minutes to get away the pain. Is this because of over weight or looking any bone or muscle damage?

Flexibility is important and putting progressive load on the tendons when dealing with tendinopathy. You’ll see progress in a few weeks to a month, but it’s a long haul to get sorted. For the ankle / feet I feel like going to a super supportive shoe for any appreciable amount of time completely derails the benefits of flexibility work unless you’re putting massive stress on it from like a marathon or something of the sort. The more support and cushion, the worse it will mask your issues and eventually cause degradation.
If I experience pain in the anterior tibialis tendon (at the left front of the right ankle) when doing plantar flexion exercises or swimming, what could it be? It has been restrictive for years but I have experienced more pain lately. It’s about 10 degree difference in plantar flexion between right and left ankle.
I was playing Softball for Special Olympics heard my calf muscle snap and and told my coach. I was able to run in practice yesterday but today during work as a Courtesy Clerk for Albertosn my ankle and foot left one was hurting me on the outside and top of the foot should I contact my poidastrist?
Thanks for the video, really informative. I've got a semi-unrelated question. What do you think about barefoot running? Is it an antivax kind of conspiracy, or is it medically safe? I have some barefoot shoes because my feet are really wide and they are the only comfortable shoe I could find, although if I'm doing sport I wear regular running shoes, I don't know if I should use the barefoot shoes to run, although I'm not old, my ankles are pretty weak, I used to sprain my ankles all the time as a kid
I have ankle pain at the front of my left foot. I assume its from wearing my new trail shows to tight. felt it at the end of the run on steep downhills
it's mostly, because you are use to supportive shoes. They weaken your muscles and when you run you feel the pain.. It's like lifting heavy, but continue to do it even after you are tired Just adapt to barefoot it will take some time, but it will change your life.. I still don't get it why it's not common think. I believe it will be in the future, but we have so many evidence about benefits of barefoot it's unbelievable how they don't take over the world..
Sir After playing air pass game my left angle is not moving like my right leg. Also it's After a long time I'm playing this game .how can I solve this. Is there any exercise
Go see your doctor. Yeh right, unfortunately in the UK it takes about 6 weeks to see the quack, then the pain is gone so when they phone you sarcastically say don’t worry about it, I could’ve done with the help about 6 weeks ago. 3 days later it goes again. 😔😔😔

Hey doc~ i've got a constant pain on the outside of the ankle~ as i watched the video you talked about the subtaler joint which seems to be the area i have pain in. When i was a lot younger i sprained my ankle many times, have flat feet and used to wear authotics but havn't used them for over 15 years. Who should i go see? What do you think is the problem. Great video !
I messed up both my feet and ankles so bad. Doctor, you don’t know how glad I am to have discovered your channel. I’m 46 and was playing a lot of soccer in the backyard, with my son. The yard has an incline and it’s terribly rough and bumpy. Eventually one day recently I couldn’t run and could barely walk or stand. As far as I can tell I ended up with anterior tibialis tendonitis and extensor tendonitis. Both anterior ankles and top of my feet were painful and weak. With the help of this channel I do seem to be improving. I did see a podiatrist and he gave me a list of stretches to do, namely for the calves and shins. I also had him order custom orthotics. I have very high arches and over pronation. $850 for the orthotics!!
I hate how there is not enough knowledge for barefoot! 11:13 This is not true. Everyone should adapt to barefoot, but for older people it takes time to adapt and it's important to make it slowly. We are not build to wear supportive shoes!! It's just the patience to adapt for barefoot, some people will take a lot of time like years to adapt.. But supportive shoes are just picking up the easy way and potentially future problems..
I have flat feet played football without trouble ran track and cross country with zero problems from being flat footed just had trouble finding shoes that fit good😂

Would you recommend barefoot walking immediately after injuries? Broken ankles? Sprained ankles? Ligament damage?
