  • First of all: This is a work in progress, and in this video you will not see everything completed - final adjustments and tightening to specified torque are not yet done.
In the video I fix most of the stuff that was broken in the front end of the car, see the list below for details...
List of parts etc. used in this video:
    - Tie rod end, inner FAG 840010510 2x12,19 = 24,38€
    - Tie rod end, outer right FAG 840116910 17,48€
    - Tie rod end, outer left FAG 840117110 17,48€
    - Tie rod boot LEMFÖRDER 3492001 2x4,80 = 9,60€
    - CV joint boot FEBI BILSTEIN 37352 17,12€
    - Control arm, front left upper KRAFT AUTOMOTIVE 4211030 30,34€
    Total ~117€
Total cost of the project so far ~327€
This 2005 Mercedes-Benz ML 270 CDI (W163) was our family car and daily driver for a couple of years in 2019-2021. It is currently undergoing major repairs to be roadworthy again and I will probably use it as my daily driver when it's ready.

Thank you for commenting, glad to hear that my work was so inspirational! Happy wrenching, hydration in the form of a few "garage beers" might make it somewhat more tolerable 😅

Put a little silicone spray before removing or install new bushings. Try new polyurethane bushing. They last much longer.

Gotta try that silicone spray next time… Might also try those polyurethane bushings some time…

Front wheels are not active in the field.when we lift the vehicle on the lift, the front wheels turn ,but we can stop it by holding it by hand.

So the 4ETS system is not working? It should brake the free spinning wheel. I have not tested how and when the 4ETS works, so I’m not sure about that… Were all wheels off the ground when testing? Any warning lights in dashboard? Do ABS and ESP work?
