I agree different people will have different experiences even within the same country but I think the same experiences and problems exist in Britain that exist in America.

Educated point of view im english, white. But my roots are scottish and my ancestor's where POWs of england that got sent to america to be slaves. Who ended up being bootleggers, and i have family in america from my ancestry who ive met and found out there story and pictures. But there white? Britian is multicultural to a point where white and black are in the same demographic. Were not segregated in diffrent parts england we're all together in the same mess. What dave touches in is very much true but teachings dont recount the scottish and irish POWs that where taken in there thousands over to america who became slaves. This part of history seems to be silenced

@anthonyirvine1881 Imo not an issue of history being silenced, it is a situation of slavery and indentured servitude being different.

I've been watching a lot of these US reaction vids to Dave's Black and the main thing I'm picking up is how little you guys seem to know about Black Brits and just how racist the UK is. Our news cycle is often dominated by the main stories from the US. e.g. OJ dies and it's day long coverage (racist in presentation). You are also in an election cycle so that's covered, Trump and his trial is the news, the recent aid budget for Ukraine etc. Your music, TV shows, films etc are over here so it feels like we know you more. Also, in terms of progress Black Brits are behind African-Americans as you have a well established middle class. e.g. at one time UK Black actors complained of not getting work but African American actors were complaining of the quality of work. Idris Elba only got famous in the UK after doing The Wire. He had to leave here to get himself on the acting map. The point of Dave's song and the content which crosses borders, is that the black experience over here is the same as the US. The only difference is that our police officers don't carry guns, otherwise they would be killing black men the same way over here. The UK used a different tactic to incarcerate lots of Black men, resulting in the same single mothers phenomena. It's also important to note that although Dave is of Nigerian descent, he is lumped in as Black with those of Caribbean descent from the Windrush generation. His accent is considered urban youth with a Jamaican influence. Stormzy's is the same. Someone has made a comment about there's no segregation in the UK. I completely disagree. It may seem like that in London or other large cities but not out in the Shires. US and Black Brits in the creative/arts industries need to create more transatlantic opportunities for each other. That's the answer, not diversity.

You missed the Plot here. What is a black American? ....please define it for me because I would love to read how you lump a non-monolithic group together

@@HIM_066xMusicReactions hi! i am not an american but i think what was is said is that
under the powerstructure of white supremacy which we unfortunately still live under ( not just for you living in usa ) because of hundreds of years of suppression , exploitation, racism and white men i power have been and to some extent still are trying to erase allmost everything that could be traced or linked to black Africans and the continent in any way by the so called " western world", we must acknowledge it as a part of history and how its has affeced us to this day ( that is also what i think Dave is trying to say : " you dont know the truth about your race because they are erasing it" ... meaning why are we not being taught about black african acomplishments and contributions to human history and development in schools in the" western world"? even though africa is like litterly the birthplace of humanity as we know it ! . Africa is still being so disrespected and talk down on and hated . what i think also was said is that no matter what we as individuals think ( africans or decendants of africans) do or feel we are within the framework we live under there is a still sadly a race -based ( perception of who belong where ) hirarchy that still exist ( becuase we haven really gotten rid of it yet) . we still are being seen as a monolith ( as you said ). im not saying that i want it to be like this , im just saying that this is clearly a reality that we havent done nearly enough to change as it stands today and that its going to keep being like this aslong as or unless very uncomfortable discussions surrounding race and the ideology of white supermacy are being had and not swept under the rugg like it was just something that happened along time ago and that its not still a to this day in a instrumetal way in affecting our lives in lots of differnt ways .

Yeah, had to stop this. This was my least favourite reaction to this song.
You claim you didn't want to be divisive, but you were.
You centered yourself too. And therefore came across as lacking empathy. Infact, i was reminded of diaspora wars.

This is a reaction channel ....I'm providing commentary from my perspective. You didn't finish the reaction per your words so you didn't hear the full context of my commentary so I'm going just leave it as.... let's agree to disagree and keep it moving.

As someone who watched the full reaction @jennifertebomosiane9596 your take is horrid and dare I say not only lacks empathy but you remind me of an ultracrepidarian

    • @jennifertebomosiane9596
      @jennifertebomosiane9596 28 วันที่ผ่านมา

@HIM_066xMusicReactions I found your "reaction" divisive.
First of all you claim being Hispanic could disqualify someone from being black. You claim there is nothing unifying or common about the black experience.
Then you go on to tell us that you're better or people stepping for their brothers makes you not to relate to this blackness. It's a mess.
And this is the last time I am replying.
I couldn't finish your video because you came across as a very negative person. And unfortunately, I've noticed this, in a lot of people of Nigerian heritage. You think you're better. And it's an unpleasant thing.
If you identify as Hispanic and Nigerian and not black, good for you. But don't divide the rest of us.
I am in Botswana, the history of colonialism in this continent, is what unites me with all people who identify as black around the world.
Our marriage traditions, dances and funeral rites is what unites blackness.
Not thinking I am better because my country has never been to war, is relatively prosperous. And therefore, I've had a good free education, health care, better than Nigeria.
Majority of our citizens are in the country, unlike your compatriots. So, you need to stop centering yourself.
What a shame, hopeful this is the only bad review of this song. Smh

@jennifertebomosiane9596 sooo I am not sure if English is your first language but I think you are not understanding what is being said. I never said being Hispanic disqualifies you as black I was asking the question of WHAT qualifies as black because in the United States as it is a topic of conversation. Secondly, I never said I didn't identify as black again if you watched the video you would have come to that conclusion. What @MAzino6419 said about you is correct you are an ultracrepidarian. Your take on Nigerians is actually racists smh you talking about me centering my viewpoint around myself but you the pot calling the kettle black. I don't mind if you view my take as bad when you didn't watch the full video lol like friend do us both a favor or stick to your guns and don't reply because you are an idiot and stupidity is something I don't want to catch from you 🙏🏾
