Very helpful video. Absolutely made me realize I need to stop what I am doing and plan things out more, which is something anyone should do. Alot of this stuff is common sense, but its odd you need someone to tell you to do it before it sinks in.
Thanks for covering this part of the process with assessing changes and doing the break down. Seems like a portion that often gets skipped but is so great to actually get to see. It also seems like some of the questions you’ve asked during interviews leads to people revealing some of this portion of their process and how they’re approaching things with stating their intent and approach. Hope the props reach you! Great to see your content!
Very helpful videos man. I ordered my first 2 kits today so these are really helping me familiarize myself with gunpla. I am a seasoned war gamer and painter but a gunpla rookie
Methyl Ethyl Ketone is another liquid that can be used as glue. It is the consistincy of water. It is available at your local hardware store in quart and gallon sizes. A gallon is around 15 to 20 dollars. You can make a lot of models with a gallon size.
To sort of answer the question about the seam on the upper thigh armor, yes and no. There is line art showing it, but other media and movie itself do not, so take your pick. I like the direction you are going with this kit, and fully approve, of the un-bridification process. Another quick way to fill in the etched neo zeon emblem is to fill with super glue. put a dab on toothpick and smear it around, spend twice as long sanding and your done! It works great if you run out of putty mid project. Or like me, are just to cheap/lazy to buy more :)
The one I started with, and probably one of the better High Grades, is the HGUC RX78-2 revive. But the Build Strike is probably also a pretty good start point.
@@dlear85 Honestly Darren, just pick a Gundam you really enjoy. But of course check TH-cam videos of how good the kit looks and whether or not it is posable (It won't fall apart easily).
Does the cement fix broken parts in planning to melt some of my leftover runners then cement the parts together just want to remove the seam line when it colides together how do I remove it?
+Martin Chu Just dish soap is fine, but make sure it's not too harsh. I've heard of some people accidentally buying some like super strong dish soap that damaged their plastic. Anyway, you only need to wash before painting.
I've never done a gunpla build, but I have built other models before. My favorite Gundam is Deathscythe Hell which is a master grade do you think I should start with an easier build before jumping into that one?
Jack Poscy If you're talking about hand painting all the parts, then it's all about thinning the paint correctly and doing many coats. For small detail painting (which is all I do my hand), I just use enamel without thinning, it dries slow enough that it naturally levels itself out well enough to cover smoothly.

I’m digging this kit, but the head is a turn off for me. Is it possible to put another kit’s head instead of the original. I’d be interested in getting this kit.maybe you could check to see if one of your other gundam heads fit with this kit since you already have it? Would appreciate it if you’d check this out for me. Of course it’s no biggie if you can’t. As always great series so far. Looking forward to the next vid!
Hey dud im sory been lost words for coments lately.. I was etempted to buy this last year but the red one.. its realy good.. (seducing).. and my friend actualy want to sell his already build for cheap.. but its the green one.. and i already buy lots from him so.. i actualy want to cut buying litle bit becouse i cant utilytized my kits .. i dont no what to do with it...
The black ones seen here are just some local brand here in Korea, called GS Hobby. But I also have a pair of Tamiya tweezers that are less curved. Both work great. Just as long as they are well pointed, that works best I've found! If you treat them well, a cheap pair will last you long enough!
ZakuAurelius o wait you live in korea? (which probably means inside or in the vicinity of Seoul) i just ran into this series since i was thinking of diving into Gundam kits as a serious hobby. well, as serious as a hobby can get that is. it somehow makes you friendlier for me to know you live close by (:
It was the Zeon and Neo Zeon aesthetic tho. It was supposed to be where the booster or hover jet located. You can always go Federal route since they prefer to build their mobile suit with less booster and lighter body.

My 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Gunpla were the Amazing Exia, Cathedral Gundam, and Wing Zero EW. All had bird/wing Backpacks. I'm a sucker for them.

Well welcome to the world of Gunpla! Plenty of helpful people in the community if you have any questions just reach out!
Hey it would be really help full if you show how to make the color combination rhat explain in the boxes
Good idea! I'll do that in the future!
thanks, very helpful in improving my skills as a builder... :)
Thank you for these tutorials! :)

fuzzyhawk down Thanks for the advice! The seam on the thigh is now gone and it looks good, glad I did it! You can see it in an upcoming video~
what is a good starting gundam? im thinking about the hgbf build strike.
The one I started with, and probably one of the better High Grades, is the HGUC RX78-2 revive. But the Build Strike is probably also a pretty good start point.
You can always try the FG (First Grade) since it's the simplest and cheapest. Or you can build HGUC GM since it's super cheap.
IMO, HG RX-78-2.
i havnt made it yet but got a delivery of the rx782 myself today for my first. What did you pick in the end ?

What is that white fox looking figure on your top shelf? He's pretty cool.
Haha, it's a white wolf from Fushimi-Inari shrine in Kyoto!
Thanks for the reply!
I had thought it might be a fox messenger (kitsune).
It's such a cool piece. Love the look of it up there with the Gunpla.
What soap am I meant to use if I want to clean it ?

I think you'd be ok! Just follow the directions and do your best. Take your time and work carefully. That's all there is to it.
Alright thanks much!
Mike Woodward Post some pics when you finish. Random people on the internet believe in you!
where can I buy tools you use, like aligator clips or thin cement in US?
Amazon, or from hlj.com, or other sites in the U.S.
im having trouble deciding what lines are supposed to be there and what i need to remove! some like weapons are obvious but on armour its hard to tell
seam lines have no indent. Intentional lines do have an indent
do you use glue to put it together?
+Joe Bowditch Usually not. You rarely ever NEED glue. But it is useful at times.
+ZakuAurelius thank you
How do you paint without brush strokes

Another HG Gundam head should work on there as long as the ball joint is of the same size!
how about painting teqnique?
That's coming! Please be patient!
Thank you, and one more how fix your broken your kits? For example Anthena
Achmad Mudandhany
I'll do a tutorial on how to fix broken v-fin and stuff like that later as well!
Thank you soo much

Just buy it if it's cheap!! Haha. The kit is awesome!

th-cam.com/video/nwP-DbZvarA/w-d-xo.html
What should i use to fix a broken piece?
Extra Thin Cement! Or super glue
what if you use a heat gun? po r lighter
or*
I think this kit was made with you in mind...
www.hlj.com/product/BAN995961
God NO!! Haha
Toxicity or acidity? Cause I don't see how something being toxic can effect anything aside from giving it the shits or a mild case of death
Something that puts me off about some of the earlier gundam kits is the big dumb feet
It was the Zeon and Neo Zeon aesthetic tho. It was supposed to be where the booster or hover jet located. You can always go Federal route since they prefer to build their mobile suit with less booster and lighter body.
GigawingsVideo the feet of the HG GM quel are about the same size as the HG Origin Zaku.
2x speed youll thank me later
really does not like birds
