Can we just appreciate that MovieFlame is a one man show. He does everything for every video. All the research, the script, the voice over and on screen talent, and the INCREDIBLE editing! So much respect and mad props!
This deep dive feels like you're whole TH-cam channel has been building up to this. This just may be your best video ever. This is a truly fascinating dive into a truly disturbing piece of magic in the Wizarding World. In fact, when you went over the most likely twisted act to make a Horcrux, I truly winced and shook with absolute disgust and horror.
In The Half Blood Prince, Dumbledore explains to Harry that the very last thing that must be destroyed HAS to be Voldemort himself, so I think that implies that the Horcruxes would be able to survive on their own AND be able to get their own bodies if they tried like the Diary did. Great video, Morgan!
I don't think that's what was meant by that sentence. When a horcrux is made, the soul survives even when the body is destroyed. We saw that when Voldemort tried to take out Harry as a baby. With other words, if Voldemort was destroyed before the last horcrux, he would live on the same way as he did for those 13 years before regaining a body. Then the original piece and a horcrux would still be alive.
It’s only the first three minutes, and I already think this is going to be one of the most well-made videos I’ve watched on TH-cam. Good job, Morgan ❤️
I always thought it was a piece of Voldemort’s soul that would be made a horcrux. Not half every time, rather just a piece every time, leaving behind a shattered soul in voldemort, which makes his soul as a whole ‘unstable’
Honestly, I got chills from this. The intro, the pictures you used, the choice of music - perfection. But mostly the insane amount of knowledge and work you put into this, you're absolutely crazy. I also like how this video goes into a dark direction we have yet to explore in the Wizarding World...and listening to your voice for over 40 minutes is just so soothing.
Well done Morgan, well done. This is probably one of, if not the best video you have done. Be proud of this one, it’s takes a lot to do everything one your own, and you have done well these past few years.
Wow, Morgan! This is absolutely stunning and I can tell you put a lot of work into this. I haven't even finished the video and I'm sure this is one of the best videos I have ever watched. Well done! Keep it going, we always look forward to a new video, no matter how long it takes.
Hey man! I’ve been watching your content for years now and I felt like I must finally leave a comment. Bonkers content. The fact that the quotes from the book are read by Stephen Fry, all the fascinating art you’ve created- Myrtle with the Basilisk’s eye behind her, every small lil detail, speaks enough of how much efforts youve put into this essaie. I can only imagine how much time and trying was put into this project but let me tell you the production is stunning! Categorically, you, kind sir, are my favourite HP Channel on TH-cam to this day for core fans. Thank you so much for your dedication, it shows through your work ❤️ PS/ I’ve seen some videos on your personal channel where you did share your struggles and experiences - which really helped me see through and face mine. SO- thank you, not only for being such a devoted content creator but being a genuine human being and sharing your fight to help others.
I think you should feel immensely proud of this video. YOu went to exterme lengths and that shows how much you care about not just your content but the people who watch it. So I'm very proud of how hard you worked on this so we could enjoyed. I'm in awe in almost every video you make! But this one takes the cake!

Morgan! This video is insane! Not only is it crazy to think about… I honestly never really thought about how scary and terrifying horcruxes are. But this video is beautifully made! You did such a great job! From the visuals, to the sound effects, to the information! Everything is insane!
Jesus dude. This might be your best video yet. And the way you explain details is so great! I hope there's many another example of making a horcrux, although the example you thought of is beyond evil. I doubt voldemort would do that and even if that happened, i believe upon people finding the body and examining it, that there would be traces to what you said happened. But i could be wrong to, and i wouldnt have the imagination to think of an alternative. Still, loved this. Keep it up dude!

Wow, this is the first time I’ve ever shed tears with one of Morgan’s videos. You have to be a sick person to do what he described absolutely insane. Fantastic video Morgan keep up the great work!
Probably your overall best vid ever, and ive watched you for so many years now. i think like 7 or 8 years xD. Beatiful vid my man, and thanks for the great content you make. I can feel the love you have put in to.
One thing I have noticed is that a lot of elements of Harry Potter are similar to elements from Lord of the Rings. The most notable one being the similarities between Horcruxes and the One Ring. The biggest ones being that both are common objects tied to a powerful dark lord because they have a part of the dark lord within them; for the One Ring, it’s the majority of Sauron’s power and will imbued into it when he created it, and for the horcruxes, it’s the pieces of Voldemort’s soul contained in them. Another similarity between these objects is that they keep Sauron and Voldemort from being truly defeated, which can only be done when the Ring and Horcruxes are destroyed. I mean even two of the Horcruxes could be seen as a nod to the One Ring, and that is the Gaunt family ring and Salazar Slytherin’s locket, but the locket could feel more like a nod to the One Ring given how it affects the mood of the person wearing it and how the way it ticks makes it feel like it’s alive in addition to the fact that it would do anything it could to prevent itself from being destroyed just like how the One Ring would have these soft yet evil whispers, take a huge the person wearing it around their necks, in this case, Frodo as he continued to take it to Mordor so he could destroy, and how in the end, the Ring corrupted Frodo to the point where he could no longer resist it and took it for himself due to its overwhelming power when he was in Mount Doom. Anybody kind of notice that when watching Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings?
"Horcruxes" have been common in fantasy for a long time. Liches essentially do the same, keeping their soul housed in a phylactory like an unassuming gem so that they are safe even if their body is destroyed. Rowling undoubtedly used those or other examples as her basis for Horcruxes and probably figured that most readers wouldn't be familiar with the concept, hence why she doesn't really give much info on them, instead opting for explanations like "it is too disturbing to even detail". It is also why the info she does give simply doesn't work within the story, things like "accidentally" making Harry one or what happened when the curse rebounded, because she really didn't put much thought into it.
It would've been interesting if someone could have made the horcrux be a weapon without being overcome. And use it to increase thier powers. Which is what any High Elf,Wizard or mighty man would've done with The Ring.
I'll be honest, the whole "every Horcrux halves the soul" interpretation has long not set well with me. Feels way too neat, like performing a ritual to precisely cut the soul instead of taking advantage of an evil act that tears the soul. My own head canon is that every murder tears the soul and these tears are messy, jagged, and uneven, leaving nasty scars in the absence of sincere remorse, that the Horcrux ritual doesn't tear the soul, but takes advantage of a fresh tear to pull out a chunk of soul to put in the horcrux. The Diary is probably still the largest part since it's implied Myrtle was Tom's first murder and how many times Tom yanked out more of his soul, but I doubt it's anywhere near as neat as 1/2, 1/4, 1/8, 1/16, 1/32, 1/64, 1/128, and 1/128.
I mostly agree with you, but it seems the most dangerous horcruxes were made earlier. The diary could manifest himself. The ring was capable of killing Dumbledore (ik it was a curse, but it makes sense). Then the locket messed with Ron. Then the others did basically nothing. The less the soul, the less the horcrux did. Maybe they're stronger, maybe it's symbolic, or maybe it's a coincidence.

Harry Potter was clearly inspired by Lotr. Of course, lotr is one of the best and most well known fantasy stories ever, so it is logical.
"Horcruxes" have been common in fantasy for a long time.
