    The bishop would make as much money as Fr.Pavone if they preached the doctrine of the faith .People see that Fr.Pavone as very sincere and genuine in his cause to help stop the killing of the little babies in the mothers woman. God bless Fr.Pavone.

    My hope with Fr Pavone going forward is that he does not lose himself and that he gives all the glory of his work to God. You have to be ruthless in the truth when combating child sacrifice aka abortion

    TLDR starts at 37:00 - Pavone as a celebrity is why I'm worried about Ripperger as a celebrity

    • @uscatholicam
      @uscatholicam  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I think we need to distinguish between a priest who merely happens to be a celebrity versus the priest who revels in his celebrity and feeds off of it. I am not going to categorize who is who, but I think there is a distinction there.

    While I TOTALLY appreciate your thorough research before speaking out on this, I disagree with your assessment of Father Pavone's attitude/way of doing things.
    Abortion is violent/aggressive. One has to be aggressive in combating it. Nothing else worked. If most people would use lethal force to protect their children, how is using shocking imagery that excessive?

    • @uscatholicam
      @uscatholicam  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for the comment. I don't necessarily even disagree with the way he fights abortion...just the way he presents himself, the way he speaks to people, it is very unappealing to me. I do not expect my heroes to descend into the mud. But I understand that's not a view shared by all. I appreciate you watching!

      It seems to me, since another Bishop was willing to take him, why didn't his Bishop just let him go? It would have been the humble/peaceful thing to do. Sometimes we just can't get along. I attend the TLM. Again, thank you for your factual presentation.

      @@monicamohan4720 That is what has had me scratching my head this whole time. Both in his initial transfer from NY to Amarillo, and then from Amarillo to Colorado Springs, the bishops tried to prevent him from leaving. It doesn't make much sense to me, unless transferring is frowned upon in general?

      My concern, and I have seen this, is that it is a matter of control. I cannot know what was in his Bishop's heart though - only a concern. Humility says that we admit that we have done all that we can in a situation. Even should we think that we were in the right, we have to let it go - for the sake of peace. As I said, I attend the TLM. Before this, I saw things in NO parishes that I couldn't believe. I spoke up and then left for the sake of peace - both for myself and the Priest. Both times the Priests were not happy that I left, but I couldn't watch. A ton of snow here also (Wisconsin). Happy shoveling! :-)

    I am sure God finds our inhumanity to the unborn quite tasteless too. He weeps for ever life and in His Infinite Goodness and Understanding God would praise FR Pavone for his outspokeness of this evil. We should all repent if we are indifferent to the sufferings of each death and each dismembership, as we prepare ourselves for judgement lest we hear God saying to us "I do not know you". We are all our brothers keepers including each unborn child killed by evil men and women. Fr Pavone cares deeply about this and understands his theology and understanding of the Heart of God as a Priest (as was).

  • @Arthur_McGowan

    The question of whether the laicization is legitimate is not a subjective call. The Code of Canon Law does not prescribe laicization for either of the alleged crimes of Father Pavone.

    As a Traditional Catholic, I find it odd that people would suggest Fr. Pavone would be suited for the SSPX. My experience with priests in the TLM (any group) are polar opposite of Fr. Pavone's behavior. I hope only the best for him and that clarity and peace can be found, especially as Christmas is upon us. Stay warm!

    • @uscatholicam
      @uscatholicam  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think it is very odd as well. His demeanor would not be tolerated at all, and I don't even know what he thinks about the TLM.

    This is the best take I’ve heard on the Fr Pavone issue. No, he does not (seemingly) deserve to be laicized, but it’s pretty obvious that the situation isn’t entirely one sided. One thing that is obvious, though, is that the Church is in pretty bad shape. Let’s offer the prayers and reparations that we can and leave the rest to God.

  • @joshdalf9493
    @joshdalf9493 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Overall, I enjoyed the video but there are a couple of things i want to mention:
    Criticism towards the episode of Pavone putting the child on the altar/table. Sure, if it was an altar, he shouldn't have done that, fine. The issue I'm taking with is people criticizing the action of showing the aborted child. I even heard it said that that went against the child's dignity and that it made the child a prop; and it's to this that I object. I see no issue, at all, with the act of showing people what abortion does, and to whom it was done to. It's terrible. It's horrible. That's the point, and some people *need* to see it. I won't dive into my criticism of the ideas further here, because you didn't go there.
    Regarding Pavone's desire to be essentially free to do 100% P4L, he made a very good comment on this on the Grace Force podcast: if we can have priests who dedicate themselves to the poor, why not to the unborn? And so it's here that I agree with him, I see no issue with a priest dedicating his life to such an end.
    You made a lot of distinctions, and clarifications, so I don't mean this towards you, but I think we need to be careful not to throw him under the bus for wanting the people to voice themselves. If, and that's an if, he's correct about what's going on here I think that he *should* reveal it. Perhaps it isn't precisely as he says, I really don't know, truth of the matter is that I don't know who I should be giving more benefit of the doubt to, Pavone or the Bishop. Would be great if this was all some great misunderstanding, but that's the least likely of all. Something has gone on here, the question of course is: what?

    • @joshdalf9493
      @joshdalf9493 ปีที่แล้ว

      Also that canon about priests not getting involved in politics; that could change at some point right?

    • @uscatholicam
      @uscatholicam  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Fantastic comments. I am entirely in agreement about your comments relating to the fetus. That's exactly why I didn't bring that aspect of it up. It's a nothingburger.
      Of course a priest can dedicate himself to the unborn, but I don't think that implies 100% independence. No priest's apostolate supersedes his fidelity to his bishop.
      Sure, the canon could change someday. I wonder how long till we get a Bergoglian revision of the CIC?

  • @reginabillotti

    A small nitpick:- at first,, you say the organization has more *assets* than the diocese. Later, you say that they have a bigger * income* than the diocese. Which is correct, or are both statements true?

    • @uscatholicam
      @uscatholicam  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sorry, to clarify:
      P4L has total assets of $10-12 million dollars. Most of that is going to be liquid assets (cash).
      Diocese of Amarillo has total assets amounting to $3.5 million, but only some of that is cash, the rest is in property.
      The initial comparison was of total assets, but given that P4L's liquid assets are vastly more, it applies to income as well. Sorry for the sloppy speaking : )

    Father Povone as accused of blasphemy for using the “GD” word in a heated Twitter exchange with a combative opponent. He was NOT dismissive of this as he acknowledged his sin, stating he should not have said this in the heat of an argument and said he went to confession to confess this sin. The picture of a aborted child on a staged alter is far over the line behavior. But this was done in 2016 and no action was taken at the time. Holy See decided to laicize the father for basically cursing in a twitter battle which is a disgraceful abuse of power. Priests with far more grave offenses have been protected by Francis such as Fr Marko Rupnik. In the broader context this is a shot over the bow by the Holy See to every pro life activist priest who dare stand up for the unborn, or is an advocate of the Wong politics. We Catholics were way to passive during the holocaust of the 1940’s, so we repeat that behavior now when millions of the unborn are lost.

    No priest has a "right" to free speech, and a bishop may legitimately command a priest to complete silence.
