But that being said I forgot to mention some things. #1 the microphone cord is long enough to put on a couple places. #2 you can receive or call from head unit and also send or receive text (I’ll show a demonstration if you guys are interested) #3 the unit is compatible with a backup camera. #4 if you wish to use your radio you’ll need to get an adapter for the antenna. #5 the face of the stereo is removable so you can take it off whenever you like If I think of something I’ll comment it but if you have any questions do ask

What is the Chord on the bottom of your phone? Is that an AUX? Or just a Charging Chord? I am confused. If it has bluetooth why would you connect that chord to the bottom? Thanks

Thanks for your videos on the Boss, they're one of the reasons I bought it. I'm hoping you could help me out. I have the same radio, and the USB Apple CarPlay connection works great with my kids' phones, but any Android phone I try to use Android Auto with keeps losing connection any time the cable is jostled near where it connects to the Boss cable. Could you try plugging an Android phone into your Boss and see if you have the same problem? Just trying to figure out if mine has an issue, or it's just a flaw built into the Boss. Thanks!
@@IronFist730 I was having trouble with just one Android phone plugged in and nothing else. Someone else in the comments mentioned that the issue may be caused by Androids with Fast Charging, which draw more power than a regular phone. Apple Lightning cables don't support fast charging, so it was never an issue with the two iPhones I tried. I was able to fix my Android issue by using a USB 2.0 extension cable plugged into the BOSS USB cable, since USB 2.0 does not support fast charging.
I didn’t install it but I did remove it and installed the mic myself. And honestly from the looks of it , it didn’t look hard. Removing it and putting it back was pretty easy. And as an fyi the wires are labeled if you decide to wire them yourself
I'm doing one in my 2009 Ram 1500. Got the dash apart and prepped for it to go in when it comes this week. Doesn't look like it's going to be a problem. Most of the double DIN radio upgrades have you cutting out some of the dash structure which I'm not a fan of. This supposedly doesn't require any of that.
@@ChewyLSX It was pretty easy but I've had it in and out several times because I can't get the sound to come out of all the speakers. I either get fronts or rears by following the two different instructions on the Crux harness adapter. Going to take it out again. Nice unit though.
Turns out the label on the Crux adapter for amplifier or not was backwards. Hooked the speaker wires back up the normal way and plugged into the "amplifier" part of the filter and they all work now.
Since it’s a single din I’m sure it’ll be able to fit but look up if there’s a single din kit for your car. As for the camera I’m assuming it should fit since the stereo is compatible with a back up camera but I’m not 100% sure.
great video, now you make me wanna buy it so bad, but my Fiat 500 abarth exhaust too damn loud, and the speakers and amp are craps from factory, I feel like if I put the Boss 10 inch screen radio into my car will be waste before getting better amp and speakers.
Just put the 7” in my 2004 Grand Cherokee. Everything works great, except the auto dimming feature kept flashing from day brightness and night brightness so I turn the auto off. Probably has something to do with such an old car with auto headlights

does the dimmer switch near the headlight switch change the brightness of the radio screen?
It doesn’t unfortunately, you’ll have to manually adjust the brightness through the stereo

I have not, maybe try using another cord or cleaning the charger port

They sell wireless adapters .You can buy it on Amazon for like $85.
Yes you do have to plug it and yes the cord is connected to the back of the stereo itself.
Also for your phone port it might just have some lint or dust in it. I had the same issue previously and with a simple clean it worked.

The cord is a regular iPhone charger. Once you connect it to the back of the unit and plug your phone it turns on Apple CarPlay

Can’t have both usb ports occupied. Has to be one or the other. Apple or Android. System can’t handle both usbs drawing power simultaneously.
