Thanks for this. I prefer straight seams. Tried diagonal but too fussy and I think it wastes material.

Yes, diagonal seams do take more material. I prefer straight seams too.

The only time I have diagonals in borders is if I miter the corners.

Basically, quilts are made by sewing pieces together....so just use what you have and sew whatever angle you want! I am freeing myself of techniques that waste fabric...
