Thanks for motivating me to dust off my old hound. The hounds are kind of goofy. It's great. Nice video.
Hounds also have enough shields, with the right parts that is, to put a shield mod on and have enough for a consistent 60% fire rate buff through reinforced bond and they proc Mystic Bond quite a lot too. I typically use the spark with Manifold Bond + Mystic Bond. Manifold makes spark apply 3+ status effects in wide area. You kill 3 enemies resetting spark CD, hound shoots another spark. This repeats 5 times giving you free ability cast. In steel path enemy density, it happens very very often. Similar effect is with Nautilus Cordon pull ability. For example with subsumed Tempest Barrage on Qorvex, single cast of Barrage can proc Cordon multiple times within seconds of each other making semi-perpetual enemy blender.
1) swap coolant for aerial bond, same thing with more bonusses 2) armor strip bond seem bad on hound since he will be casting stuff way more often than melee attacking 3) weapon dosnt get affected by speed/range, get shattering impact so you get armor strip for the duplex clones that only do melee and cant use precepts 4) get the reflective shield precept, that will make it prime as it goes and follows you around 5) momentous + aerial bond = near instant recovery so you can get rid of survivalability mods (not to mention all the status stunlocking done by the hound + chaos from duplex) 6) companions always get full damage eclipse buff (lets see how DE will butcher eclipse tho) and get all benefits of nourish (stun + viral status + viral damage), do with this information what you want
Bruh, there's so many good Bond mods. I got like five of them on my already killer Hound and thanks to you, I just read Aerial Bond. So it's gonna be six. I can say goodbye to the Denial mod for that.
Reflex Denial is nice in theory but in practice it's significantly worse than Coolant (or anything else it could replace) because it blocks your own shots as well, even if it does prime nicely.
@@Ariamaki Yeah after playing with the hounds around now, the bubble is actually annoying enough for me to reconsider using it. Especially with Frames that can just shield gate or overguard their companion, like Volt, Styanax or Dante.
Duplex Bond is a little underrated. I see hardly anyone else using it but heres how the Clones from Duplex work: Enemies will shoot at them, but they cannot die until their 30 second timer is up and will not take any damage. They work kinda like a Pocket Titania or a Pocket Octavia, drawing some of the enemy gunfire away from you and your companions. They can also work to help spread around your Hound's weapon statuses too, but they dont get affected by Momentous Bond or Manifold Bond. They WILL however still spread Status effects if you have Contagious Bond and they kill something. So when your immortal energy dogs kill they have a +50% chance to drop an energy orb (thus fuelling the fight by adding more energy dogs if possible), and they spread the status effects to nearby enemies. Sure, my hound might not have high HP or anything but with Momentous Bond+Recovery it takes only 2 Eximus Kills to respawn if it does die, and it still takes a lot to kill it. I think all of the Bond mods are pretty good. Been thinking of trying the one that adds Void damage on Operator kill. I was curious if that would then also get applied on every attack. I don't have a good AMP yet so it might not be active very often, but I was curious if that would turn my GIR into a Pocket Xaku. There's a lot of things to try with these
I haven't gotten any Sisters yet, but it's cool that you can basically take their hounds for yourself It almost sounds like getting a good pet away from a not so good owner, and I kinda love that
Glad to see someone appreciate Robodoggos! Now do the MOAS! these had a significant buff as well. Slap a Cryotra with the new cold spread mod, The bond mod to clone companions and you have a nice auto-CC for enemies, even some bosses lol
Actually I'd recommend a melee MOA with Whiplash Mine and that Bond that increases crit damage (forgot its name) and a Vulklok with Critical Delay, combines the Helios and Nautilus' main draws AND adds crit damage...
The one precept that steals Eximus auras. It also procs stuff and buffs you with whatever the eximus does to is allies. Just the ice one sucks because Snow Globe, but other than that, it's so good, it's so worth it...
Goddammit MC! Here I was, wilfully ignoring the new dog meta, and you show how good it is. As I'm watching the vid I'm thinking "hmmm this would be really good with Lavos - coz more status procs makes Lavos go more kaboom". So now I have to spend some of my 180 precious forma to build Cat - that's the name of my hound. Since I've just grabbed Gauss Prime, Acceltra Prime and Akarius Prime from the foundry, I guess I can re-level Cat up to. I'll be in Hydron for the next few hours if you're wondering where I am. :)
I've modified Harold to be used for Styanax (using the companion weapon that gives slash and impact) and have him spit out a bunch of viral and slash procs which makes it easier for me to kill things with my spears
We need an updated in-depth hound guide, nobody’s done a proper one yet, I had to peeve the wiki to get an idea of what a good parts combo would look like. I recommend just doing sisters for tenet weapons passively and eyeballing the hound parts through the universe codex, obviously it would be best if you collect one of every part and hound type, since the hound precept/audit mods aren’t mutually exclusive once you own them and the weapons come free with their corresponding hound type. By then you can gild all 3 for standing+training bonds on fortuna, use 2 for mastery fodder and invest in 1 hound with your favourite parts combo. That way every weapon and mod could be unlocked. Someone else recommended me a baseline of 385 shields and to choose armor/health weightings based on personal preference.
lacerton is the best weapon and you want the hound body (adlet), the head doesn't matter but you do want the same legs he has in the video, the tail is what gives you synergized prospectus which is a orb the dog shoots out that does electricity dmg (archon stretch goes brr with this). The head also determines the weapon, but if you have the lacerton already, then it doesn't matter. On the weapon I have the new galvanized elementalist on it (goes crazy) alongside condition overload & radiation, magnetic, cold, and corrosive alongside the slash and impact from the weapon. I do have a riven tho. They also low-key buffed hounds by allowing repo audit & null audit to have shoot through shields which is one of the biggest complaints of hounds. Combine that with viscous bond and contagious and manifold and your hounds itself is nuking room in SP Lua survivor (180-190 starting lvl)
Love the mod that makes a lot of puppies, but sadly it reduces ability usage, if only it worked better. Though hounds are good fun! Thanks for the helpful video MC!

Biiiiig missed opportunity for reinforced bond, should be a pretty doable task with the calc. redirect and potentially the link mod as well. I have a hound from a sister, but at some point I’m going to build one that has as high of a shield pool as possible so I can run that mod with just one shield mod.
No mention of the fact that hound weapons can trigger and spread Melee Influence? Replace the heat mod with Electric, and presto. This way, you can run your own melee weapon with corrosive for armor strip, or gas, or whatever strikes your fancy, and let the robodoggo take care of the proccing.
I named mine Jeremy, and instead of Repo Audit, I ran Null Audit. It turns out, manifold bond works ON THE EXIMUS AURA. This means I have a walking uber-eximus ready to do my bidding. Thanks Jeremy.
I've got to ask: would Shattering Impact work via the Sparks when using an Impact Variant of the Hound Weapons? Vicious Bond would work fine too I imagine, but Shattering Impact would make it a lot easier to strip a whole room quite fast.
How important is the hound's parts? I've been trying to get my hands on one with maxed shields for reinforced bond, but 7/10 sisters I've fought recently have had the shield boosting legs, but the wrong body...
I'll do you one better: you don't need mods for armor/health/shield either. I run it with Animal Instinct, Vacuum, 3 precepts and otherwise only Bonds. The Hound is programmed to kill, not to die.
