My go-to amp is actually a Lega-Phahd-Plaga. Leveraging Status priming and Crit striking. only 42% viral since Void Procs are actually more important for the Phahd discs to mulitstrike targets and land more crits. They're relatively common even at 30% surprisingly. While Certus offers that crit bump, I think the biggest kneecap to using an Amp, especially "general use", is not being able to use it (no ammo). The 2 second delay is BAAD and Plaga solves this, as regen begins after every disc fired easy. You can throw these things all the over the place since they auto track to targets. Very handy to not actually aim since Amps have way too much Aim Assist. Second Arcane can really be whatever you want, I go with Tempo because the Circuit showed me the potential the Beam Amps could have with cracked fire rate, so I'll take a small piece of it outside it. Magnus Melt feels like the cherry on top as with so much heat built up, these discs cycling a single void/viral target will rip them to shreds. I think most meta Amps fail outside Eidolons or specific targets because it's always dependent on burst damage. Once you run out of juice, your damage potential plummets. This is not what you want when you have very limited time in Last Gasp. When your amp doesn't stop firing, it makes up for less frequent crits. Applicable to any Focus School really. My Firestar is always effective in Steel Path and can straight up replace my Warframe in the SP Circuit if decree luck favors.
M8 this video is fantastic. Really opened up my eyes about operator/warframe synergy. Thanks for the video, real helpful. Also "doesn't get much faster than that" got me chucklewheezing a lot.
very detailed and helpful video. Returning warframe player here but even before AMPs were confusing for me. But now I got the gist of it thanks to this vid. Thanks!
This new series is fantastic! As someone who has only played Warframe for nearly 500h across 5 years, this series I think will continue to help explain features and numbers i've grown to ignore because I simply didn't understand them. I want to add that I've watched you for nearly the entire time i've played this game and love your style.
Of note, if you do want to add elemental damage to your amp for general use, Magus Melt is a solid option. At max stacks (7) it should give something like 210% Heat damage added, though _unfortunately_ the stacks go away all at once instead of decaying one at a time.
I don't recommend getting an X7X or 7XX amp unless you have the madurai passives leveled or unbound. It's less sustained DPS until you have them high enough. Lega prism and shraksun scaffold are good alternatives until you get them leveled up properly. You'll almost always want Certus brace unless your doing a weird status build with the void damage conversion arcanes. The void strike buff was insane. It's why I usually run Madurai over Unairu or Zenurik now.
I love the fact that after returning recently I got to see this video. Now I finally understand amps and overall loadout for Eidolons. Now I have a goal to reach.
Holy mother of....DAMN. Suddenly everything makes a lot more sense XD. Thanks again! Your videos are as awesome as ever, and I really hope to see more!
I used a 143 because I had already played enough Eidolon hunts to get all the parts immediately. I did them for arcanes and forgot you can even craft amps I had a generic one beforehand. But what played the biggest role in picking this is I HATE the Orb Vallis. Every time I have to farm there I stomach for a bit and drop Warframe for a year I just hate it. So for someone that doesn't want to touch the Orb Vallis it's a very good choice.
to expand on why crit is king on amps, not only amp crits deals double dmg to shields for no reason at all but most of the targets you want to use your amp on are status immune as well, meaning investing on status is absolutely pointless!
Ok, i know a lot of people have definitely said this already but i believe that you genuinely have explained eidelon hunting the best way and ive been playing warframe for almost 8 years! Thank you so much!
Thanks for the video, one of the problems I always had is that I didn't know which focus school to farm, and that requires a lot of time to, until Zariman was dropped, so I never did it.
When explain in this format, things make allot more sense. I never stopped to consider the arcanes as *mods*. Great video my MC, I understand things better now because of you.
Dude you cooked up an AMAZING series, i'm so happy you get your buzz again! Especially after your recent video, really amazing that you instantly reinvent your content and it just works! Keep it up, love the content! 💯🖤
People use Volt shield not because extra added electric damage that is ignored by Eidolon shield, but because crit damage is increased. Thats why Raplak is able to oneshot Hydro shield under Eradicate, Onslaught and Void Strike. While Virtuos Strike is good by itself, Eradicate is just more reliable when you don't use rapid fire amp and it activates on demand. What about using amps vs regular enemies? The key here is removing the biggest factor, that is armor. Amps go through shields relatively ease, but armor is their bane. If you remove the armor, either with Caustic Strike or armor strip Warframe powers, Amps kills even in Steel Path.
I havent caught up with the series but i have to say I WISH SI MANY OTHER CREATORS WOULD DO THIS FOR DIFFERENT GAMES. So many guides fail the why and leave new players who are looking for information dumbfounded as the why they should be doing what the guide says. It leaves them knowing less fundamental information about the game so when the meta changes, they would be able to figure out where to go from there
Thank you for this info! I really appreciate it! Looks like my initial 2! focus school choices were simply bad ones. Lucky me I've already got 3/4 of the waybounds open, so after the last one, I'm going to Maurdrai
Note that right now eclipse alone allow you to one shot terralyst synovia. And armor stripping vastilok made hydrolist can be shot by anything with multishot and decent cc. So volt is not necessary for eidolon hunt. Just more convenience
another thing few players know is that the energy shield from odonata gives extra heat and crit dmg, theres an augment which applyes it to squad members (operator included). another worthy mention is that you dont need your warframe weapons if you reach that kind of dmg, just use your amp directly on the eidolon joints to anihilate it. the remaining damage of one hit falls into the eidolons health if it drains all shield, so aim for the synovias if you run around with so much dmg. additionaly, eidolons are weak to electric dmg so your op amp should be able to easily chew through its health if you use volt. ADDITIONALY, you can use magus melt for some insane heat dmg boost with any focus school, i use it for self revives since heat procs also drain some armor.
I think you nailed it on the head with people having the right amps but not understanding how to use them effectively like they see another people's gameplay. I have all my focus maxed out, 2 amps that are my ideal builds for soloing Eidolons and Void Cascade and I'm still not sure how to explain it to another player.
People were saying that the 177 amp was a good for general use for things like eidolons and zariman void angels. So im stuck between using 177 or 777 for general use. What would anyone here recommend? Thanks.
very good video ive avoided eidelons and the void cascade stuff unless i have other people helping even tho im mr21 because i thought i needed 777 to do well but tried this and my basic one (barely above starter) now is 1 shotting
Elemental bonus is not applied to eidolon shields!!, you can check for this by using the "conversion" arcanes (Virtuous trojan, surge, spike, and forge) to see that the only damage the eidolon is vulnerable to is "operator damage" which is seperate from "void damage" (xata's whisper) or "elemental damage" (electric damage) Adding electric damage to your operator with volt does not net you any benefit; instead the benefit comes from from doubling your final crit damage with it's unique multiplier, and can be replicated by having a teammate use the Odonata archwing's first ability (which functions identically but with heat damage.) Other than that, great vid, this is very helpful for people who are confused by the amp system. and before you commenters say it, no, adding electric damage to operator damage does not make the added damage "electric operator damage" Think of "operator damage" as an entirely separate damage type, and the only one the eidolon is vulnerable to. All elemental and physical damage types do not effect the eidolon shields under any circumstances, otherwise you would be able to 1-tap eidolon shields with volt's 4 lmao
Finally someone explains how those amps get to do so much damage, I have copied the amp and the single arcane (the only space available in that momment) and I never dealed that damage. So now I can run eidolons and void angels faster
Magus Melt is also incredibly good, does not take an amp arcane slot, and is a source of bonus damage (NOT CONVERSION). +210% Heat is nothing to scoff at, and its criminal you didn't give it a mention. If you ever wanted a damage boost on demand, or the equivalent of amp serration - its there. For funsies, try Virtuos trojan r2(50% convert), Eternal Eradicate, Magus melt. This makes your lega prism into an anti-everything 50% viral 50% void, 210% heat amp and its basically 'anti-everything' for regular content since heat now includes armor strip.
Phahd scaffold is the only one that makes sense. Clears rooms, finds targets behind cover, has a huge projectile lifespan, amazing range and gets a ton of hits for each shot. Nothing else is even close to its sheer functionality. similarly, that crit chance on the certus just makes everything else look stupid. Don't forget you can use your operator in the Duviri circuit if you get stuck with a bad spread of gear! just go for decrees that improve your shot power and watch the phahd scaffold SHRED the hordes!
eidolon shields are immune to everything but operator void damage. volt shield doubles crit damage which is why its used in hunts, not just the bonus electric damage. the 747 amp is better for general star chart gameplay overall, and 177 is the definite best for angels and eidolons without a doubt. madurai isn't JUST void strike due to the cooldown on it, so the arcanes + passive bonuses + contamination wave debuff ( + volt shield if ur volt ( + unairu wisp if someone is with you)) is how people 1 shot eidolon shields so quickly after using void strike and how they beat the angel's 2nd phase so quickly after the first.
MC i watched your "lets talk" video and I was thinking about why you got good views 6 years ago but not now, It's your thumbnails. Most people click more vibrant engaging looking thumbnails. Personally idc about the thumbnail much as long as the video is good but Im not the majority and you want the majority to watch. If you know who "MHBlacky" is, I only click his videos for his thumbnails
my amp build is based on auto self reviving. as long as a few enemy are around, i self revive within 2 to 3 seconds sometimes faster. Whether enemies are lvl 40 or 500 it still works ^_^ I wont say the loadout because i like people to still play around with their own builds. There is no one build trumps all in this game
The big thing you missed is Eternal Eradicate, and Magus Melt. Also you could've mentioned something about Naramon situational amp damage with 8x melee combo. Pahd prism is indeed very very useful. Only for Eidolon specifically I would run something else (like Propa, and then I run Raplak instead of Klamora)
Id like to correct a few things. Unairu wisp after the focus rework isnt that useful anymore bc its awkward to proc. Volt shield is used due to the fact it doubles crit damage and not generally used for elemental since eidolon shields are only damaged by void damage. You dont need crit damage arcane for your amp. Thr amp does enough on the propa for 2 crit ko on a hydralist shield. I do use the crit arcane you showed(if void strike is on cooldown let the eidolon pulse remove your energy to trigger this one) but there is a +60% damage on operator ability cast which can be triggered by the second ability (weakening it to void damage at the same time) The reason people destroy the eidolon so fast is that the propa can be fired before shields go up giving you time to swap to the warframe and aim at a limb. Shields break immediately apon going up and you shoot it.
Actually operator duo with Excalibur Umbra is pretty viable. You can knock down or weaken enemies as operator + damage them and your warframe attack them with weapon and abilities. I advise you to use AOE weapons or weapons with wide cone of attack pattern. Even more you can pilot your necromech and Excalibur Umbra will continue follow you and attack enemies!
Something interesting to note is that 147 better for everything other than eidolons where x77 is better. This is due to shot timing and front loading. Very few things survive even just the oncast arcane alone.
I only run the x-x- 7 brace on eidolons or angels anything else I run lohrin for crit and status bump , usually 7-4-3 , magus melt pretty much always on
5:31 That is NOT the reason why we use volt for eidolons, the real reason is the multiplier for critical hits thats unique to volt, its separate from the crit damage so it gives a lot of dmg, also im pretty sure elemental dmg doesn't actually work on eidolons shield (aka, stacking multiple volt shield doesn't actually do anything)
I have a 513 (Cantic Pencha Lohrin), which I felt was alright enough before, but now doing the SP Gargoyle's Cry event I feel like other people just do INFINITELY more damage than me, lol. Guess it's time for a new AMP and to grind out the Arcanes. Operator upgrades are where I've been slacking the most in this game. It's not even that I don't like them, I just get distracted by other new content. 4600+ hour vet btw.
Everyone is using Raplak or Klamora but I prefer Cantic way more because I love burst weapons. Thanks for this video because I never understood how the multipliers worked for eidolons!
Played the game for years, but amps have never been my focus, tbh I am a noob on that and high level / end game, thanks for this, show and tell is such a good way :)
I'd better reccomend lohrin brace rather than certus brace as it is easier to get though lesser crit chance for some status chance which will never happen but when you do get certus brace blueprint, just a quick reminder that the stuff for it is hard to get while for lohrin, just cut fish, do bounty, do some plain of eidolon exploration, simple as that, certus is better but harder to get
I tend to use a 147 for SP, i pair it with magus melt for some extra damage and some light cc via the burn animation. You should also do a video on operator setups for normal/SP missions, how best to use operator in spy, kuva siphon, and while downed would normally use i different setup(minus spy that is). Also for those who dont know, the damage buff from relay blessings will also apply to your amp, that helped me in SP quite a bit. -OnlyTheOperator
Be cool of we got another amp or two with a different style of firing mode. The Guiding Hand in durviri sometimes comes available due to a glitch. Smackd like a truck, also a particular characters "hand"

That's why he calls them *Multipliers* . Because the Source if the Multiplier is Irrelevant... As long as it Increases your Damage then you're Good 👍
This is THE guide I needed. So much things are much clearer now
Dude you cooked up an AMAZING series, i'm so happy you get your buzz again!
Oh yeah, that was my bad.
Whoops... I guess I should have Read through the Other Comments before Saying the Same thing. 😬
eidolon hunter and void cascade level cap player are full of knowledge about amp
their main gameplay primarily using amp
arguably, your frame has already stripped their armour or allies
I havent caught up with the series but i have to say I WISH SI MANY OTHER CREATORS WOULD DO THIS FOR DIFFERENT GAMES. So many guides fail the why and leave new players who are looking for information dumbfounded as the why they should be doing what the guide says. It leaves them knowing less fundamental information about the game so when the meta changes, they would be able to figure out where to go from there
Thank you for this info! I really appreciate it! Looks like my initial 2! focus school choices were simply bad ones. Lucky me I've already got 3/4 of the waybounds open, so after the last one, I'm going to Maurdrai
hey thanks for this, im just getting to the point in the game where i need a good amp so this is the best help ive gotten so far :]
As someone who never got into eidolon hunting, I still have the basic default amp 7 years later
Thanks for this vid! Short and comprehensive, exactly what we need more of!
Short, sweet, and to the point
You've done it again!
Note that right now eclipse alone allow you to one shot terralyst synovia. And armor stripping vastilok made hydrolist can be shot by anything with multishot and decent cc. So volt is not necessary for eidolon hunt. Just more convenience
Dude the cuts at the end are great! Caught me off guard 🤣
Good one MC as always.
I really like that new series and the endings.
Keep it up.
Sweet merciful Lotus did I need this video! This feels like the Rosetta Stone to all those meta amp videos I've watched!
another thing few players know is that the energy shield from odonata gives extra heat and crit dmg, theres an augment which applyes it to squad members (operator included). another worthy mention is that you dont need your warframe weapons if you reach that kind of dmg, just use your amp directly on the eidolon joints to anihilate it. the remaining damage of one hit falls into the eidolons health if it drains all shield, so aim for the synovias if you run around with so much dmg. additionaly, eidolons are weak to electric dmg so your op amp should be able to easily chew through its health if you use volt. ADDITIONALY, you can use magus melt for some insane heat dmg boost with any focus school, i use it for self revives since heat procs also drain some armor.
this requires full armor stripping the eidolon to work.
Thanks.
My feedback would be to cover amps as well when pairing with last gasp for self reviving in Steep Path
The best video I've seen on the subject. Sharing and commenting for those engagement metrics
Thank you so much! I've been having issues with operator damage against angels and I'd love to try eidolon hunts too! 😊
Thank you, it is very helpful for someone to actually explain it for once, i am literally MR24 and had no amp damage xD
ive came back from a long break, and i dont know anything about this anymore hah! but im glad to watch your content again!
very good video ive avoided eidelons and the void cascade stuff unless i have other people helping even tho im mr21 because i thought i needed 777 to do well but tried this and my basic one (barely above starter) now is 1 shotting
I think this is the best explicacion you can found if you dont understand anything about amps
What a great video I was actually just looking for a video on this topic!
Damn, you keep exceeding expectations with this series! Really good coverage of everything and explanations as well. 👍👍👍👍👍👍😍
I wish we could just unbound abilities like Zenurik's well or Madurai's so we could have our own 4 abilities which we mix and match.
eidolon shields are immune to everything but operator void damage. volt shield doubles crit damage which is why its used in hunts, not just the bonus electric damage.
the 747 amp is better for general star chart gameplay overall, and 177 is the definite best for angels and eidolons without a doubt.
madurai isn't JUST void strike due to the cooldown on it, so the arcanes + passive bonuses + contamination wave debuff ( + volt shield if ur volt ( + unairu wisp if someone is with you)) is how people 1 shot eidolon shields so quickly after using void strike and how they beat the angel's 2nd phase so quickly after the first.
Fantastic info, short, to the point, love it!
I am terminally attached to Zanurik unfortunately, eximus enemies I still find a pain in the ass to deal with when it comes to energy
I do use the crit arcane you showed(if void strike is on cooldown let the eidolon pulse remove your energy to trigger this one) but there is a +60% damage on operator ability cast which can be triggered by the second ability (weakening it to void damage at the same time)
The reason people destroy the eidolon so fast is that the propa can be fired before shields go up giving you time to swap to the warframe and aim at a limb. Shields break immediately apon going up and you shoot it.
Hope you’re doing good man. Really appreciate you keeping up the content
Thank you for making this video. I wish it existed years ago, and it will sure be very useful to a lot of people.
I only run the x-x- 7 brace on eidolons or angels anything else I run lohrin for crit and status bump , usually 7-4-3 , magus melt pretty much always on
The Outtakes are amazing 😂
5:31 That is NOT the reason why we use volt for eidolons, the real reason is the multiplier for critical hits thats unique to volt, its separate from the crit damage so it gives a lot of dmg, also im pretty sure elemental dmg doesn't actually work on eidolons shield (aka, stacking multiple volt shield doesn't actually do anything)
It does for the limbs but not for the shield.
Nice to find this video having JUST figured all of these things after 5k hours in the game 😆
I'd better reccomend lohrin brace rather than certus brace as it is easier to get though lesser crit chance for some status chance which will never happen but when you do get certus brace blueprint, just a quick reminder that the stuff for it is hard to get while for lohrin, just cut fish, do bounty, do some plain of eidolon exploration, simple as that, certus is better but harder to get
Thank you for actually explaining this everyone just says yeah get the amp then your good
dude this is an awesome series. really helped me out.💪
Helpful video, enjoyed that last bit. 🙂
-OnlyTheOperator
ty for this just took a solid 30 minutes shooting kulluvo far enough away that he couldnt get to me. Did like 10 dmg a hit
Best Warframe content creator, not even an opinion, just facts!
quick, simple and to the point. thank you.
Be cool of we got another amp or two with a different style of firing mode. The Guiding Hand in durviri sometimes comes available due to a glitch. Smackd like a truck, also a particular characters "hand"
Makes so much sense now thank you for breaking it down.
The Volt/Nekramech damage through V Shield made me stand up from my chair saying WATEFOK!? 😂
