Renault makes very good engines :) but on the megane often people have problems with electrics which are weak. Plus, the sitting position is perfect in that car, I don't know what that guy is talking about.

All i ever see is complaints about Renault i own 2 a stock 1.6 16v 2004 and i own a sport and both run fine dont need much work and both look mint. never had any issues and mine are checked yearly and i prefer both to anything else. the stock 2004 has new tyres from renault sport and the rest is stock. the sport is stock and does the job.

i.c.o Megane: if you are a little bit over the wheel then why not set it properly? Driving Vauxhall/Opel Astra is like you were driving on rubber gum - there is absolutely no feedback from the wheels. Driving a Megane is very easy and comfortable.
only issue ive had to date really is track rods and they are easily replaced. the tyre pressure sensors are also shite. One corroded so bad that it broke off when i tried to put air in it and the core flew out and the air pissed out. Renault only give you those shitty foam fills too instead of a spare. Have you got a spare to fit round the calipers?
