Hi Dave, thanks for watching, It’s 17.40 and pitch black in the forest as I reply to your comment, Bella is swinging in the hammock above my bivy !!! It’s windy, I have to say the nights are too long !!! But I will grin and bare them Cheers Adrian
Hi and thanks for watching, yes less than a miles walk and a nice chill out camp, Missed your comments on my last few videos, Out with bella tonight, she fancies the hammock. Cheers Adrian
That's a lovely little camp Adrian. I can absolutely understand both your comment about having to get out but also about the very long nights. Don't think it will stop us though! Take care
Good little spot for a Bivy camp Adrian 👌, yeah gotta entertain yourself on these long autumn/winter evenings mate, still always great to get out though, the torch looks a good one, well made and bright for its size, look forward to see your next camp, atb Mick 👍
Hi mick, thanks for watching Yes it’s a great spot less than a mile from home, yes need something to pass the long nights, reception not always the best so a book Cheers Adrian
Glad to see you out and about again Sir. Looked like a good little camp. Its always good to get out even if its just in a local woods. See you on the next one 👍
Hello Adrian. Thank you for posting. There is nothing more beautiful than a northumberland sunset. Except perhaps a northumberland sunrise. Sorry to hear that youre poorly. Get well soon. Happy trails. And say hello to northumberland for me please. All the best. Jan
Cool camp Adrian, I love woodland camps, this time of year, between the animals/birds noises, I may carve little stick projects, I take a book to read, just chill and soak in mother nature, glad to see the Dutch hooped bivvy out, mines out this weekend, have a bushcraft camp social, so may video that, plus I'll do the video on my tarp guyline shock system for you too, that's a cracking location there, cool woodland, being a forest hermit, I do so love forests/woodlands, good health and safe travels my friend, cheers craig
Hi Craig, thanks for watching, Honestly it is the best bivy by far, draught proof while able to be vented, never any condensation, It’s only down side is weight, I will be trialing the MLD bivy ready for Scotland, but on grass !!! The owls were so noisy in the night but it’s magic to be part of it. Cheers Adrian
i go out with my camera all night sometimes in the summer adrian , no expert ! like but in the winter your right its a long night in the dark ,, am glad your pulling round and its good to see you back.. i think i will look up that torch mind seems good...
Good to see you out again Adrian. I did my first tarp and bivvy in ages a couple of weeks back with mixed results due to strong wind and rain changing direction. Have you had any experience of the robens mountain bivvy? Quite like the look of them for the weight.
Hi and thanks for watching, Glad you got out, wind and a tarp is not the best, did you see my coastal bivy with my daughter a month ago ? I used a low star and it was hammered by wind but came through, Never looked at the Robens bivy as it’s not waterproof, I belt it has to be under a tarp, giving less options Cheers Adrian
@@northumberlandmountainhopper I did see your st Abbs video, I tried the star config but the wind just flattened it as I was using a 3x3 so I folded it in half and turned it edge on into the wind dropping the leading edge so a much smaller area for the wind to hit. It kind of worked but I was on top of crags so it was an interesting night.
Although it looks clear water ir may not be so. I tend to use water filters, even at home. Outside a banks bag, and palatapus or life straw they filter 1000 litres or so. Sorry you are ill i had something for three weeks with broncitus not very nice hope all is better soon.
Hi and thanks for watching, Yes a local camp is handy, and still gets you out, Yes Dutch hooped bivy, never had condensation in it, as you watch regularly you may remember I only mention condensation when I have some, the last camp in the Hunka I had a wet foot box so out with the gortex, I honestly believe the Dutch hooped bivy is the best there is, weight apart, you are protected from draughts and if under a Tarp you can leave a good opening for ventilation. Cheers Adrian
When I was twelve my mother bless her asked me what I wanted for my birthday I said a tent from then on I have loved camping I am now 72 years old yet I am still that 12 year old probably like some of you I sleep better outside to watch this type of video takes me along with you, you really do lift my spirits thank you keep posting
@NeilBates-k3t I’m about 12 years behind you but my story is very much the same. While health and mobility allow I will continue to do so but generally now in the warmer months. Great to hear you experience. Regards Broadlander
Hi and thanks for watching, What if it does rain ! I am under cover and warm, I have videos where I have been under a small tarp in torrential rain and still stayed dry and warm, I love the tarp and bivy and it’s my go to Cheers Adrian
Hi Craig, thanks for watching, I did a poor job of filming the filter results in this video, I did not write them down and I actually had no footage of the filtered results just remember they were excellent, I will be using it again this Wednesday on some stream water so I will do a proper job on the phone and on paper, suffice to say the water was top notch after the pure clear and tasted ok from the cup although mainly boiled it, Cheers Adrian
Great vid bro and a cool review for that excellent wee light😎👌 Hope you are feeling better..... I had my flu shot last month and within 18hrs felt really (REALLY) grim for 10 days. I've kept well for 7 or 8 years so I know it was the flu shot🤮 That will be the first and last one.......
Nice to see you out again Adrian, hope you fully recover from that cold. Sounds like how I felt on our Black Hag camp.

Cheers Adrian
Lovely Autumnal camp Adrian 🍁🍂 nice little pitch 🏕️
Hi Dave, thanks for watching, yes colours were magic
Cheers Adrian
It looks like that torch sits inside the pocket as the lamp is above the clip. Less chance of losing the torch if the clip slips off the fabric.
Hi and thanks for watching, always good to get people’s views and ideas,

Hi Adrian - Craig here - what filter did you use for the brew/dinner and what were the filtered water readings on your kactoilly tester.
Hi Craig, thanks for watching, I did a poor job of filming the filter results in this video, I did not write them down and I actually had no footage of the filtered results just remember they were excellent, I will be using it again this Wednesday on some stream water so I will do a proper job on the phone and on paper, suffice to say the water was top notch after the pure clear and tasted ok from the cup although mainly boiled it,

@@northumberlandmountainhopper well - given most filters make safe water, that is the BEST recommendation ever - "the cuppa tasted nice"!
