    Love doing this on my M2 zoom, on my newer drones i fly backwards and zoom in manualy, or the other way and fly forwards and zoom out. Can be hit and miss so using waypoints makes sense. Great video Shaun.

    Heck yea, man! This is one of the coolest effects I’ve seen. I don’t understand the logic behind how it works but it’s really neat. I could never get it right doing it manually because I’m pretty uncoordinated with the precision flying stuff but these waypoints have totally changed the results for me man. Awesome video

      When you zoom in, you get a narrower field of view (you see less in the frame), but if you're traveling physically away from the subject as you zoom in, the subject stays the same, while the frame itself around it changes. So you have like a 100 degree view, and as you fly away and zoom in, you're further, so the subject stays the same, but the view is now like 15 degrees (arbitrary numbers used to illustrate the point).

      Many thanks for your comment and glad you enjoy my videos, I'm always learning and try to pass on info and sometimes - I get it wrong :) I always use 1080HD 60fps and use the drone SD card, plug it into the computer for download. I've heard some people having transfer problems with their phones, it somehow down sizes the footage. When using the SD card, remember after you downloaded the footage to computer to Format the SD card, so you have a clean SD card before flying. Many thanks for joining my channel.

      @@shaunthedrone Your so welcome Sean, there is much truth in the saying " Everyday a schoolday " ha ! and no , we dont get stuff right all the time, part of the human condition ,Whether the drones master us , or we master the drones remains to be seen, but all have a piece of the puzzle im sure.
      I have a Windows 7 pc as my main PC/TV ( set up so I can watch you tubes on it etc and things like sermons and pastors fom abroad, so I can also see the signs od the times ) but anyway I also have a windows 10 laptop, I will see soon what happens when I plug drone or SD card into that . And when its on YT or any video channel, then I can erase its , the card is a sandisk 128GB Extreme PRO SDXC card, SD Card, V30 Memory Card, 4K UHD, up to 200 MB/s, SanDisk QuickFlow Technology, RescuePro Deluxe Data Recovery Software, UHS-I, Class 10, U3, V30
      ~~~
      So ill keep formatting it once its shot something , good plan thank you
      and happy to be at your channel
      God bless you and happy flying
    Hello there 😊
    I have a problem with my dollyzoom effect when trying to do one ..... The zoom is very fast and doesn't long as the distance until waypoint 2 !?! .....
    Also, have you notice if you unfold the zoom tab on the left, there is a auto mode in grey .... What's for ?
    Regards
      It takes a while and many retakes to get it just right. I had to speed up the drone footage for the video - just keep trying and it will work. Many thanks for watching.
    The results I have been experiencing while setting up in this exact same way is that the zoom happens all at once. It just zooms from 1x to 4x all in one move which is pretty much a useless result.
    What are your thoughts and how do you go about having the zoom affect happen in a way that is even close to the matching the speed at which the drone is backing up?
    • @shaunthedrone
      @shaunthedrone  9 หลายเดือนก่อน
      Many thanks for your comment and it took me a few times getting the zoom and speed right. Experiment
      with the zoom and the speed. On the second waypoint, you set the zoom, so it should work. Let me know how you get on but don't give up.
      I have not figured it out yet. I have got some pieces of the so-called vertigo effect coincidentally in some footage that I have shot while using other flight features along with playing with the zoom on the control wheel but nothing that I have figured out how to control.
      I have thought about trying "progressive" waypoints where the zoom is adjusted incrementally at each of the different waypoints as the drone follows the waypoints as it moves away from the foreground object but I have not tried it yet.
      I don't think Shaun the Drone guy knows exactly how it works as he just says play with it until you get it to work.
