This show makes me feel good about the state of my house, and makes me want to clean it even more at the same time. It's hard to believe how some people can live!
I remember having the best childhood in the cleanest, most hygienic home. So it's a shame to think what these kids are going to remember when they look back on where they spent their formative years. My mother had five of us running around yet she still had time to go to work and make sure the house was clean and cosy. I really don't think there's any excuse where kids are concerned, imagine their meals being cooked in that filth! I'm now 21 with a baby son of my own and if he ever got ill because I didn't want to get off my butt and clean up after myself 1) I would never forgive myself and 2) his grandmother would kill me!
@CptGorgeous You are a lovely family! There is more in live than cleaning, and I totally agree on not dwelling on the past. However... I still like watching episodes from How Clean Is Your House, because it helps me get of my bum and clean, when I don't feel like it. It's motivating me and an incentive: I will have a nice and cosy home in the end for my daughter and me to enjoy!
I rarely leave any comments whatsoever.. but... really.. TOTALLY YUCKY! :P I love this show - it makes me get up and tidy up my place. I just cleaned my bathroom and now am cleaning kitchen while playing this on the background. I DO have very very very strong stomach, but some of episodes literally turn my tummy inside out. Uggggggh!

Having had my own upholstery business, with a repair contract for Montgomery Ward's I can say there are people who live like this. It's so sad. I once knelled down to look at a chair leg and landed in something wet, a cat pee soaked rug!!!!! YUCK!!!!

Damn, do they have a Social Service agency in Britain? If Child Protection ever saw a house like this, they'd probably remove the children and charge the parents with abuse and neglect! If an adult wants to live like this, then go right ahead and live to your heart's content but don't raise your children in that! BTW, the older kids are following in their lazy parents' footsteps :/

I think the reason they touch such disgusting stuff at the beginning of each episode is to show that they don't fear anything. Some people put off cleaning toilets and stuff because it is so disgusting. I'm with them it only takes a couple minutes a day to clean a toilet.
I understand your point completely, but this is just how the internet works. You cannot change it. I too think this is rather offensive, but my advice is : Ignore, and enjoy the video.

The first 10 minutes of this show was always the best. No-one cares about how they get better, we just want to see people living in squalor :D
