I love this show. Every time I'm feeling a bit lazy, I watch a few minutes of Kim and Aggie and I'm just itching to get cleaning! I love the British version where them warm water, lavender oil, baking soda and suddenly you have a wonderful cleaning solution. The US version, it's all about a Swiffer and 409. So commercial. I wish I could really understand why these people choose to live in filth.
Marylyn said that she couldn't do anything about it!!! How long does it take to wash dishes, sweep a floor and take out the trash? This woman lives by herself and made this mess herself. There are many people that are depressed but they don't live in filth. This woman is just lazy.
@Demaab Thing is, many of 'em are probably dealing with some variety of depression. When you're really depressed, EVERYTHING is too demanding. At least these people all called for help... For loads of depressed people, everything from cleaning to telling others that they're depressed seems equivalent to moving a desert 500 miles with a spoon: not just difficult, but impossible!
@MrKEGreene They don't choose. The big downside of this show is they pay zero attention to underlying causes e.g. illness that leaves you without energy, or depression that corrupts every normal thought you have and makes everything seem utterly pointless anyway. You wouldn't help me by cleaning my house, but if you get rid of my depression somehow I would have the energy and care to do it myself like I did before chronic depression got too bad to handle. When its a choice you don't want help.
...She needs to be screened by a naturopathic and western doctor for contributing health problems like heavy metals poisoning, hormonal imbalances, cognitive disabilities, etc. As well as talk therapy to cope with cognitive disabilities (if she has them), and to resolve the emotional issues that cause her to feel overwhelmed by, and rebel against cleaning. This is her responsibility. But, she needs the kind of help that will solve the issue for the longterm...not a quickfix she can't maintain!
These people say they don't clean because they don't like to, because they can always think of other things they'd rather do. They actually seem to really believe that passes as some sort of excuse! Staggering, truly unbelievable. Cleaning is never finished, just get used to the idea. You have to do it pretty much every single day, everyone else does! How irresponsible can you be??? "How often do you clean?" "I never have" - omG!
that is freaking nasty. how could she possibly have a boyfriend?! someone would sleep with a person who lives in such filth?! her bathroom is freaking nastttttty
MY GOD look at that hob! I almost threw up, as if you could peel the filth off it. I just cleaned my kitchen, but I might actually give it another go. >_
She says "I've got here a spray [bottle]." The ingredients are a pint (2 cups or 500ml) water, two dessert spoons (2 tsp) bicarbonate of soda (baking soda) and 15 drops of lavender essential oil. Happy cleaning! :^)
I start to gag every time Kim and Aggie put their nose on something and sniff it. Yech. I hate to even touch other peoples belongs, much less sniff them.
I'm having a house guest next week and when I need motivation to clean I always watch these! Love Kim and Aggie, I don't know if the show still goes on but I'm glad for these epis on TH-cam, that, and Hoarders!
I notice this woman talks while Kim or Aggie talk ~ mumble talking, like she's talking right over what Kim and Aggie say. And YES! These shows get me cleaning every time, even if my house is currently spotless.
This reminds me of my mum's mum. now me and my mum like a tidy shop. but gammy my god, all her life she's been a filthy begger, now she's got house keepers because she's too old and frail to be doing it herself, but I know she wouldn't anyway because she's lazy, and filth is all just lazyness. none of us like cleaning, but having a clean house at the end of it is worth all the trouble.
You know there is a saying that creative people or artists are messy. Say what? Lol. I am so not like that, I guess its how you've been raised. My mother is a clean freak making be slightly anxious every time I see my friends house. I never stay long I would die.
is there an alternative to their constant use of lavender, because lavender gives me asthma attacks (allergic to lavender and a list of other plants) and I'm always on the look out for cleaning methods that do not irritate my lungs. To illustrate, when I visited a friend who has her front yard lined with lavender, I could hardly breathe the rest of the day. commercial chemical cleaners irritate too much as well. I use cleaning vinegar mostly but it's not the best for every kind of dirt or stain.
I don't think everybody has that but it's probably something to do with the cold. lol I don't know actually. I noticed it too though. I can only think that people don't like to have cold feet in the morning when they take a shower and stuff :-)
@Demaab I agree, I found the ones more irritating is the ones where they have children, especially there was one family with a baby, who lived in absolute filth and they thought the state of the house was funny?!
My sister has Asthma and when she sweeps the floor she weezes like you wouldn't believe, but, she still sweeps the floor....can I get a witness...this is laziness. Sad The tv might be one of her biggest problems..
"Nothing I can do about it." OMG I'd literally go mad and just start shoving EVERYTHING into garbage bags, toss it all and start from scratch! So much better than living in absolute filth!
My sister has Asthma and when she sweeps the floor she weezes like you wouldn't believe, but, she still sweeps the floor....can I get a witness...this is laziness. Sad.
I don't know why they think it's funny to live in filth and squalor, I would be ashamed it that was my house. Thank God I'm houseproud, as are my two daughters.
Having a house like this is a sign that there are likely underlying emotional issues. Perhaps she was abused as a child, and there was big power struggle around cleaning. She seems like a perfectionist. You might say, are you kidding? But perfectionists often adopt the flawed logic that they have to do it perfectly, or they won't to do it at all, so that they can't be accused of failure. Not realizing that it dooms them to faliure...
I'm curious, What tv channel does the UK, or did the UK, air this show on? I was introduced to this show in the US from the channel BBC America. I don't think they air it anymore.
OH I love that lavender tip, I've got tons of it lying around for helping with sleeping and relaxing, that'll come in handy now, I'll put that to work on the hob. I do love the tips off this programme.
@prayingsilver Heya, wow thank you for taking the time to write your reply. I will try your suggestions next to my usual cleaning vinegar and steamer. I drink different kinds of tea and have only found 1 I react badly to so far, luckily I'm not allergic to any fruit that I am aware of just some of their pollen when they blossom, So orange oil will likely not be an issue. The cheapest vodka here is from the supermarket as far as I know and not exactly cleaning agent cheap sadly. Thanks again! :)
I love this show, because in a basement apartment with two cats and poor ventilation i'm always in need of new natural ways to keep my home shiny and my cats healthy. :)

This show makes me want to clean EVERYTHING and declutter like crazy!! Blimey!

I miss this show.:(Its not on my regular cable anymore. Its on digital cable.I wonder how many filthy homes Addie and Kim have seen in their lives?!!!!
Kim looks really nice in this episode :)
She wouldn't need harsh chemicals if she just kept up on the cleaning.
"There's nothing I can do about it."
Come again?! You can clean it!

am not sure which was worse. That toilet or those pillows.

people are usually unfit or/and overweight. hard for them to move and they get tired easily. housework is hard work
She doesn't like to clean? Neither do I, but I don't throw bags of garbage on my living room floor.
It's interesting that while the house is so disgustingly filthy and messy, she is so fastidious about storing foods in a certain way in her cupboards.
She is worried about the cleaners affecting her asthma yet she lives in that filth? Something wrong with this woman.
I start to gag every time Kim and Aggie put their nose on something and sniff it. Yech. I hate to even touch other peoples belongs, much less sniff them.
I'd rather Aggie sneeze in my face than touch anything in that grotty house!
Kim cleaned the counter then put the dirty trash can lid on it :-O
aggie looks really nice in that red skirt and suit :o
theres something called executive dysfunction not all depressed ppl have it...but this one certainly does
she look proud herself dirty
"Me bracelet honks of filth." :)
OOOOO! Darling my teeth nearly fell out.LMAO!
I'm having a house guest next week and when I need motivation to clean I always watch these! Love Kim and Aggie, I don't know if the show still goes on but I'm glad for these epis on TH-cam, that, and Hoarders!
Must...vaccum...now!

@zyxquark manky is usually used to describe ugly, or rotten, anything that makes you feel disgusted basically. British expressions are the funniest x)

My sister has Asthma and when she sweeps the floor she weezes like you wouldn't believe, but, she still sweeps the floor....can I get a witness...this is laziness. Sad.
Read the list (pauze at 4:35) ....Jobs to be done: Hover...!!
Not hoover?
I bet somewhere in that pile of dirt they'll find a hoverboard ! ;-)
I don't know why they think it's funny to live in filth and squalor, I would be ashamed it that was my house. Thank God I'm houseproud, as are my two daughters.
That woman's constant giggling gagged me. Honestly, just shut up, pay attention, and learn how to clean!!!!
My kids’ messes overwhelm me, I’ve got depression and still do all the housework, work and uni courses...this lady kept it like this for attention
CAN SOMEONE TELL ME WHAT SHE USES IN THE ALL PURPOSE CLEANER AROUND 6:30? I CAN'T MAKE OUT WHAT SHE SAYS IS THE FIRST INGREDIENT.
@hullohannah It sounded like a pint of water, two dessertspoons of bicarb soda and 15 drops of lavender essential oil.
I am always shocked when Kim and Aggie first go into the homes and don't wear gloves when they pick at the grease and dirt.
I so love this show. Lovely helpful ladies, nothing jugemental.
"There's nothing I can do about it"....oh please.
i just noticed most of the owners of this filthy houses looks really really sad and lonely,..
At 6:36 What did she say the spray was made of? I couldn't fully understand her
They should lay down NEW carpets. Better yet NO carpets in "these places!!"
I watch Kim and Aggie when I need motivation to clean my house
disgusting kim and aggie rule! im proud to follow there example
How could they touch that stuff with their bare hands!!!!!????/
Yeesh, Nurgle must've had a slumber party in that house!
Theses people were just plain darn lazy

3:39, incredible mature sneeze!!!
my room is also a clutter so im with you.
"I never have" and she laughs!
it's like living in a rubbish bin XP
I'm curious, What tv channel does the UK, or did the UK, air this show on? I was introduced to this show in the US from the channel BBC America. I don't think they air it anymore.
It was originally aired on Channel 4 and they then transferred it to the other channel More4 for repeats of old episodes.
Gaah, WHY put her hand in the filthy dishwater when she's wearing a bracelet? :S
Kim puts her nails in everything
why is this show racist?
OH I love that lavender tip, I've got tons of it lying around for helping with sleeping and relaxing, that'll come in handy now, I'll put that to work on the hob. I do love the tips off this programme.
