He was way smaller than him at about 5'8, the wannabee Jay Cutler was about 6'0 and we never saw him again. "The waist gets bigger with all the heavy core work we do and all the heavy lifting" and all the insulin you inject too. Personally, the excitement is in seeing those small waists and everything flaring from that. That's what made bodybuilding aesthetic and desirable back in the day. Guys like Robby Robinson, Frank Zane, Brian Buchanan and even Arnold, while he had a relatively bigger waist in that day, his 3/4 back shot and side chest pose started from that twist that made his waist look tiny relative to his thighs and upper body. The look today of the bloated stomachs and oversized thighs is too much imho. When a man's head starts to look like a speck, the sport or art has gone too far.

As a bodybuilder, the simple fact is it takes alot longer and is much much more difficult to be an mens open bb.
Men's classic etc are just divisions for those they can't put on the size to be in men's open. But it's also a competition men can compete in on their way to men's open. Otherwise we'd be training for 10 years+ etc and not being able to compete.
With all these new divisions it brings in more people to compete because there is basically a division for every level. From no muscle at all all the way up to men's open Olympia.
There's nothing wrong with it, it brings people in and makes the sport bigger which is what we want and need.
I do however have a problem with people ridiculing other classes because they themselves aren't in that class.
Men's classic and classes alike got in to it because they like training and they want to be bigger and better looking than everyone else. Men's open is the same thing, they're just bigger. A lot bigger. And that's the definition of bodybuilding.
Building the body to reach its maximum potential.
