    • @lavetha27
      @lavetha27 2 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      @@Joe_Parmesan I agree...but Romo was an exceptional QB and the stats proved it, he just never had the team around him. Romo gave his heart and soul every game he played. They're like polar opposites. The only similarity is they were both unjustly hated.

      @@lavetha27 Romo was completely taken for granted by many football fans. If he didn't play for the Cowboys, I don't think would've been hated as much. Dude was tough and kept playing.
      I didn't intend put Cutler at Romo's level, but, rather wanted to express that even with Cutler showing less than ideal effort as a whole, he was still better than anyone who came through the Bucs organization (before Tom Brady, which I never would've never guessed that would happen)

    As a lifelong Bears fan that was in high school/early 20s throughout his tenure with them, I have a very roller coastery relationship with Cutty lol
    I knew when we got him, that he was instantly the most talented QB the Bears had ever had (sad, I know).
    I never blamed him for his injury in the NFC Championship game, even though that one really hurt to lose to GB of all teams, who went on to beat Pittsburgh, which I believe Chicago could have as well. The Bears’ thought process was “if we can squeeze this win out, he has two weeks to recover and we have a shot at the Super Bowl. If he aggravated the injury, we had Caleb Hanie, and were fucked either way.
    Mike Martz was a shit OC who sold Greg Olsen for a ham sandwich for no reason, and the Bears never got him any receivers until B-Marsh, and by then it was too late. They also never bothered to build the o-line, so he did take a lot of unnecessary hits.
    Once he retired, I was able to watch him in a different light. His wife’s dumb show was actually must-see TV because of Jay. His smart ass comments, and idgaf demeanor, were amazing. I love retired Cutty.
    Overall, I think he’s just a very different kind of dude than 99% of NFL QBs, and I actually admire him. I think he did the best with what he was given, and always stayed true to who he was as a person. And now that he’s retired and all that is in the past, I’m happy to see him divorce that selfish bitch and finally relax in peace on his ranch with his kids. For a woman who has gotten by on her looks her whole life to call HIM lazy, is insane, and shows how delusional and self-centered she is. She wanted the flashy NFL QB millionaire husband, and he just didn’t give af to be that.
    Much love Cutty 🤘🏼❤️

    • @AlphanumericCharacters
      @AlphanumericCharacters 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Great breakdown. I would just add that I think his career was wasted by Mike Martz and Mark Trestman. Two years with Martz trying to kill him pretending he had Orlando Pace on his blind side. People questioned his toughness? I saw dude get teed off on week after week. Side note: I’ll never forget how annoyed Cutler got with Martz taking FOREVER to get the play called in. Total clown show. Then Trestman was an absolute disaster that gutted the team and left them in a state that took a few years to get back to base level. Everyone hated on Fox but he took over chaos and brought order. (Nagy only won that first year with Fox’s team.)
      I think Cutler could have been a top ten quarterback in the league every year if he hadn’t gone to the Bears.
      That said….i loved him as a long suffering Bears fan. After twenty years of noodle arm qbs it was such a breath of fresh air to have a guy who could sling it.
      To hell with Caleb Williams. If they don’t keep Fields I want MHJ with the first pick and Penix with the second. I don’t think even give a shit if we win anymore. Just want to see an aggressive qb sling the rock and drop it in a bucket beyond 20 yards.

    In his time at Chicago, Cutler had six offensive coordinators. He’s had to adjust to a new offense nearly every season, working to master a playbook, then turning around to do it again. And yet he still put up record number YRDs and TDs with Bears. With no decent WRs or play calling.

      I think football fans are hilarious they think that all football players should act a certain way as if none of them have a life outside of football to some of them football is just a job that they're good at. Honestly, his injury to the Packers is what made me start respecting him. Because he did continue playing for a while. And it was the coach who benched him. His "emotionless" on the sidelines is bogus. People handle it differently. Withdrawn and dejection is a very emotional state. People who can't accept that, are the ones with an issue.
    I didn't know he had type 1 diabetes. That makes everything he did insanely more impressive. Honestly, to do ten years with it? It's amazing.
    And telling his wife to get a job when she wanted to take his stuff. Legend status.

      Finally found someone who has some sense. When he got to Chicago he was running for his life with no protection. Devin Hester was the number 1 receiver. Had we had the same Marc tresmen offense with lovie Smith defense he'd been won a super bowl. Let's not forget he was on a run starting 7-3 broke his thumb they ended up 8-8. He put the 🐻 s in the lead to clinch the division defense gave up a game winning touchdown against the packers. Twice

      Cole Sneed. I trained for years as a powerlifter and track thrower with the late Mike Lauderdale at UC, Santa Barbara and elsewhere in the U.S. The guy squatted 515, benchpressed 365, and deadlifted 530 in the late 1970s, plus threw the hammer about 200 feet, all weighing 195 lbs. He was a Type 1 diabetic and had no way to measure his blood sugar because the technology did not yet exist. He went through hell with that disease. He never used PEDs. If Cutler only suffered half the MISERIES with diabetes that Mike did, his college and pro football achievements should be respected.

    It’s only the old fans fans who may actually hate him. The ones who were adults in 85. They felt like he owed them that Lombardi trophy in 2011.
