I tend to disagree with that theory. Now that there is an engine downsizing on most today's cars, and EU's mandate on lesser emissions, car manufacturers are now finding ways to decrease engine pistons to save fuel. And, Hybrids is on the rise. EV Diesel, let's just see...
@@deanesau9106 so the engine doesn't over work and struggles , if one does lot of hi way driving ,over high mtn passes tow heavy trailers , lot of cargo , lot of people in the car
Mmmm it’s a bit too small for me. Any large SUV needs to have some grunt & 110kw/320nm is just not enough. I would forgo some the gimicy infotainment tech for a decent engine. Even the 3.0l is too old school for me.
i still have no idea why the public is addicted to buying slow unrefined diesel powered vehicles even the new v6 rangers are slow and boring to drive will some car maker grow some balls and put a high performance petrol engine in a large SUV also anyone concerned about fuel consumption should be buying a used car
Two words "Nissan Patrol" The manufacturer that as you say, balls up. Unfortunately it didn't sell in significant numbers initially, but since the series 5 eventuated, it has become popular. Go buy one, you'll be a happy chappy.
Isuzus 3.0 L mux is already underpowered they made it worse by making a 1.9 L. I like Isuzu but I think it won't hurt to boost it as it is very underpowered for its size in comparison to Toyota Fortuner 2.8 GD6,I won't even compare it to Ford Everest as it is on a class of its own away from others even it's 2.0L is as powerful as the Fortuner.
I did not find this as an honest review, seems like chasing cars is getting commission for selling it, that such a big and heavy chasis with that small and weak engine do not last longer towing 3 tonnes, you should be more objective when review and recommend a product.
Worst tech of any of this size vehicle ive driven over the last 3 years including the cheapest MG. Just done 2000kms over 4 weeks in a 3.0 mux 2wd and my work ute poverty pack 2wd 3.0 is horrific on its tech. Both autonomous lane keeping is well behind all others. Yet after all that still considering selling my 2019 3.2 BT50 for this fir only its outstanding fuel efficiency. Put my look on this as the 1.9 is only available in Europe but in Australia all the lack of tech is still relevant.
forget the engine have they fixed the front suspension with the tyre scrub out ???
kind of waiting for someone to swap a BT50 front-end onto an MU-X, i reckon it'd look mint
Interesting idea!
I brought the Mazda single cab for work but is the same ute.I tried them both but went with the 3.0 as the 1.9 was gutless.
Features are a bit 2018, better off getting a used car with the same features for close to 50k.
My late Uncle always had a very strict rule when it came to cars: ALWAYS buy the biggest, most powerful engine the model offers!
buy more than you need

Why

yeah, like your late uncle's generation has made 5.7L V8 engines at 150hp; the same kind of hp powering this 1.9L MU-X engine.
have a 2023 mux 3.0l nice lazy truck enjine 300nm @ 1000 rpm awesome for towing and durabality
where did you get300 from.
As I'm not a caravaner or bush basher, I'd buy the mid range 2X4 with 3.0 engine. As a touring vehicle .
Mmmm it’s a bit too small for me.

2.0 is weak I have tried their isuzu 2.5 mux it is sluggish how much more this 2.0?
anyone confirm or deny if the rough terrain mode is active when rear locker is engaged??
Sadly you can't engage them at the same time in the MU-X at present.

$2000 cheaper on a $60k does not justify buying with such a small engine, it is not a real incentive. I think Isuzu has lost the plot.
110kw? My 1986 VL Commodore had more than that and it wasn't 2.2 tons.
Probably didn't have 350Nm either, to be fair!
@@chasingcars 350Nm is pretty low if you start carrying passengers in that vehicle. This engine is best as a hybrid
I’m not making a judgment about 350Nm, I’m suggesting that petrol to diesel outputs aren’t a direct comparison
but it was holden crap
@@trevorwilson2966 it was a Nissan engine to be fair, and a good one.

i would go for the 3 litre diesel more power for towing.👍
Fair enough! Good choice for towing
In short, no.
