I rode on two of those 755 Staedler FLIRTs (on this very line in fact and I passed through this very station) from Cambridge to Norwich and I must say I was really impressed with them! Very smooth, quiet and high-tech (although one of the toilets was out of order)!
@Kyron Smith lol!! Except your half right. It's actually the Stadlers older brother, the 745s that actually do that length of journey. Before that was the 90s hauling the Mk3s
Nice to see 387105 with the Red Gatwick Express brand. She left Gatwick Express and join on Great Northern. I can't wait for Peterborough station, are you doing the Rush Hour trains at Peterborough?
Very good video despite you not knowing your Liverpool Lime Street (my local main station) from your London Liverpool Street! Stay safe and hopefully you can get out again soon to make more of your entertaining videos.
Thanks very much, truth be told I didn't even realise that I had made that mistake until I had started looking through the comments section a few days later haha
Do cross country trains come from Birmingham New Street to Ely then what train goes from Ely to Norwich or can you go from Ely to great Yarmouth ? Thanks for your help Elvis Presley
Oh bluddy hell man if I knew you were there I'd met you had a good little chat with you I pass Ely 4times a week I use btween Brandon and Cambridge for college would've been nice to have met you from the a distance obviously well done sir.
Love Ely. Enjoyed watching this back. Great spot for variety - I can remember visiting her to pick up my dad’s cousin every Christmas when she would come down to visit from up north! How were the station staff here? Did you have to apply for/get permission to shoot here first?
To be honest, I was expecting Ely to be... well, a bigger station. Is there a different Ely station on the GEML? Edit: I am making this comment before watching the full video, please don't kill me.
@@Sherpiddy Maybe this is just my ignorant Cumbrian brain talking, but I was expecting some of the intercity GA services. I think I might have to look at a rail map of the region.
@@josephharrison8354 I think Ely would do well to have some long distance intercity services certainly, but for a junction station it is certainly very busy!
@@Tornado922 Oh, aye, there was a good mix here. To be honest, I just assumed one of the main urban centres of Norfolk would be serviced by the 745s/720s.
How come the anglia new units 755 and 745"s dont have the full class number on the side near the front eg- 755 330 in black number so us spotters can see its a class 755 or 745 or 740, instead of these black triangles and three numbers on front !!!!
Hi Stewart, the 755 class are always BMU3 and BMU4. The 745 are always 12 car EMU (Airport or Intercity internal layout). There is no Stadler class 740 on the Greater Anglia network.
Thanks very much, I'm not to sure what happened in the end. All I know is the unit travelled under it's own power once I had finished filming. I will give both a look at some stage
Trains mostly feature white these days unlike the old days of liveries like Network Southeast or INTERCITY. They show the dirt so easily, shame. Stagecoach Livery on what was South West Trains was so colourful, but now South Western Railway uses mostly grey. Oh well as long as London Buses don't turn from Red to white or grey lol. Buses still seem more colourful these days then trains.
Don't see how anyone can like the look of those Stadler things. I think they're hideous, those great gaping maws around the coupler really seal the deal.
There could be a very real possibility I had a bit of a moment getting the origin point of a particular EMR service wrong ;)
Easily done.
I don't think EMR go to Liverpool Street 😂
Yes there could.... Unless EMR secretly started the service ;)
