ELY has MEGA places for filming, plus Middle Road I like. 03/08/23

- I went to Ely and found three locations around the track network I had not filmed from.
In the past I have just gone to the station, but I think these places makes it more interesting for me.
Still need to do more checking in this area in the future.

Brilliant video Mike. 3 clips of "Cappagh" blue 60028 was very nice mate, and i dunno how you manage to find some of these out of the way locations but i'm glad you do.

Colin it makes the hobby for me more interesting trying to find different places to film, ok sometime its crap but its worth taking the chance.

Excellent footage thanks Mike, ultra typical fenland atmosphere, frames the trains perfectly ,plus the little whistles of wind..Nearly all the crops are in now , with Partridge and Pheasents .Nice evening out for us and yourself 👍👍😊 Ian

Great to have content on my doorstep, I live a couple of hundred yards from Ely North Junction, lots of interesting stuff come through Ely. With ref to Angel Trains based at Papworth Sidings quite a lot of interesting units stored there, over on the other side of the side there are at least 3 180's there ex EMR units also several HST Cars and carriage stock. Lots of other great locations in the area to film from.
That is great information Malcolm, is there anyway of seeing from the other side.
I will give the area another go possible next year now, ATB Mike.
Queen Adelaide Way runs directly along side the side on the other side of the River Great Ouse allowing a view into the site from the road. There is an access bridge over the river into the site now whether Papworths and Angel Trains would allow a member of the public onto the site I don't know but it might be worth finding out. @@antman09ful1

Interesting footage from Ely. It is rather congested but I understand the Conservative government have commuter to investing in the upgrades. Will this happen i wonder !!??
Knowing this lot it was bull shit.
Silly question I know but since WHEN has Ely had an avoiding line? I have filmed there many times and I never saw it.
Well if a train is travelling from March to Kings Lynn it doesn't have to go to the station to run round.

@antman09ful1 Yes, just before middle rd was where train came to rest hit it at crossing just before by farm in background I live just down road
