I am a black man who’s listened to Led Zeppelin since 1975. They quite simply are one of the three best bands of all time. Led Zeppelin, Parliament Funkadelic, Grateful Dead. Nuff said. Led Zeppelin is extraordinary music not heard then or now. Glad I got to enjoy them while they were young. Enjoy young people!

The "secret sauce" regarding Led Zeppelin was the interaction between jimmy Page and John Bonham. Throw in Robert Plant and a dash of a very competent and under rated John Paul Jones and you have possibly the greatest band to ever grace a stage or the grooves of vinyl.

The two sides of Jimmy Page... A monster in the studio, precise, accurate, able to replicate over and over.
On the stage, he and the band improvise, interpret and effortlessly expand on the songs. You'll never hear them play songs the same live.
    A Jam Band.

Someone (Danny Goldberg?) once called JP a "Quadruple Threat" for: his guitar playing, his songwriting, his producing work, and his charismatic live performances. We are so, um, FOURtunate to have him, and Zep, in our lives!

    • @miou-miou-

he actually wasnt precise or accurate, nor able to replicate over and over.
he said so himself.. if you make a mistake just keep going and things will work out in the end..

Page's legendary status on guitar is well earned, but I don't think he gets enough credit for also being one of the greatest album producers ever. The production on the LZ albums was perfection and much of it ahead of its time. Shout out to JPJ too for his multi-instrumental contributions and orchestrations. I've been listening to this band since their first album came out and I'll never get tired of them. So nice to see the younger generation being exposed to this band of prodigies.

Todays music is auto tuned , pitch corrected , they lip sing , all computerized .
Back then it was all pure raw talent and hard work.

  • @VegasAlien1
    @VegasAlien1 ปีที่แล้ว +3

The audience indeed knew they were hearing greatness, and an individual performance that no others before or after them will ever hear. That is the greatness of live performance, when a band doesn't play like a jukebox, instead leaving opportunity for improvisation and experimentation to arise based on an artist's mood, state of mind, level of drunkenness or severity of intoxication. It's different every time, but always maintains the spirit of the original piece. Add to that a high level of talent and musicianship, and these folks are getting their money's worth ($7.50 for most seats at this show).

Miaaaa, the audience was experiencing Greatness, but to be honest they were also high as &*%$!!!! The brilliance of LZ was the Live Show, the band would go out and improvise, extend songs and shows as long as they wanted if they were really feeling it. Nothing on earth, no band, no show no sport will ever put a spell on you and change your perception on what's possible as seeing Zeppelin Live. For the luckiest, having tickets for each night they were in town, whereas most bands you would be seeing the same thing (possibly with a couple of different songs on the set list) with Zeppelin the set was the baseline, what happened each night was a different groove each song came from the heart and soul with highs, lows and every emotion in between. So glad you've discovered Zep, the journey is only started, they band grew, influences changed as did each album, never doing the same thing twice. Four Fantastic musicians worthy of being in any top band. Together they played off each other and were something.. Hammer of The Gods!

I live in Los Angeles and met Plant at a club in 73, super nice humble guy. Sexy as hell! They could have done 10 shows and always sold them out quickly! The one fucked up part? The critics hated their guts, in particular Rolling Stone, in fact, they have gone back and redone a lot of their shitty reviews. Great song of Rock Blues. This is magic, art, pure talent and days, months of experimentation. No computer, no auto tune, just extreme creativity.

Robert plant, the one and only Rock God, many have come after him but none of them could ever reach the level that Robert was on. Nobody but nobody owned a stage like him

I love the written comments while you are viewing the videos. Instead of interrupting with vocal comments you give us your thought written so as not to disturb the performance - that is great.

Already seen this a few times on Patreon so will get in early with my comment!! Led Zeppelin's biggest hit was " Stairway To Heaven " so it might be worth doing a reaction to that at some point , one of the live versions has about 122 million views. Awesome was just one of the words I used to describe your reaction , but I will say again that .....It's easy to talk nice about you , when the words I speak are true and relevant....and 💯deserved!!!

She is shocked at how great Jimmy Page is! Glad she loves the greatest HARD rock band of all time! Plant could have teamed up with Tina Turner on this one. Would have been interesting

Truly a masterfully dosed roller coaster of energy, driving those descents through the valleys of the Blues to come back up again and again. They knew how to handle that and how to do it very well.

Now imagine hearing songs like this all day long. On the radio, at home, visiting friends, in clubs and everywhere.
Thousands and thousands of songs like this. Each weak dozens of new albums.
And even now I find songs from that era which I ´ve never heard before.
Music was everywhere. Time to restart the spirit from then.

Mia, keep going, You say you can't go wrong with Zeppelin-- but you don't know yet how right you are... It is a very deep rabbit hole you are going down. So far you have done two from the first album and one from the second. My recommendation is to move through their albums chronologically. You have so many more great songs of theirs to get to -- don't limit yourself to only the ones that all the other reviewers do. Take a deep dive, you won't regret it. Enjoy the journey 🙂
