    Awesome video! What would you prefer Wavetrac or Quaife? Which brand is superior when it comes to overall use. Thanks

      I’ve used both, seen them both being assembled and they are almost identical. You honestly can’t go wrong with either brand. Neither is “superior” to be honest. Equally excellent products

      Neither will be "better" per sé. They both will get the job done and have about the same longevity for that hp range. You can't go wrong with either decision you make.

    I'm not outta the water yet tho. So it looks like some trash went through this diff and kinda roughed up the outside edge of the worm gears ,not the actual face of the gear teeth that mesh together with other gears tho ,the face of the gear teeth look nice a s smooth. It also roughed up the outside of the case alittle. Do u think I could polish that roughness out and get away with it since the actual face of the gear teeth are all in good shape or should I just say f it and get a new one . Srry for being so long winded

      The stock K series diferentials are not good at all unfortunately, the aftermarket ones are redesigned and perform lots better, even the one named somehow like black(something) costs arround like 600 euros and perform waaaay better than stock

    • @Ocurrey1320
      @Ocurrey1320  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Yes that is perfectly normal. The swivel gears and plates that are inside there are not extremely tight so there will be some plate to allow the swivel gears to rotate.

    I have a b18b trans that will go into first gear without grinding unless the car is at a complete stop and the clutch pedal all theway down but all other gears are fine. What can cause this?

    • @kibawhitefang7176
      @kibawhitefang7176 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m very sure your first gear is worn out, usually common with the first gear and most probably is a sign that the car has been beaten hard on that gear. I believe you can get a new one.

    • @kibawhitefang7176
      @kibawhitefang7176 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I also recommend to first do a transmission oil change first, and see if that helps to clear off the problem. I would also check the clutch.

  • @Alexlachica37
    @Alexlachica37 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    If it’s in the transmission would I be able to turn it by hand?
    I just installed my new mfactory lsd I put my half shaft in to see it turns by hand gear are in neutral, and it’s spinning.
    Is it possible that I’m able to spin it and even on All thru gear? Or do I have a bad lsd?

    • @Ocurrey1320
      @Ocurrey1320  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You shouldn’t even be able to turn it by hand. When I say turn I mean one side independently from another. With a new diff, the shims/springs should be set so tight that it only spins/operates properly on the ground when in motion. Traditional human strength shouldn’t be able to turn it in the air

    • @Ocurrey1320
      @Ocurrey1320  ปีที่แล้ว

      I’ve done blue and I’ve done it without. Don’t really see the need for red. If you’re going by OEM spec according to the manual, it makes no mention of a form of loctite being used. The bolts should be tightened to 83ft lbs of torque. You shouldn’t have an issue either way if done properly.
