Wait... Isn't that just paying the blackmailer's ransom request but with the convenience of automated recurring payments? What does this subscription service do to actually stop the cycle of datatheft?
My husband recently heard from a company promising to protect his personal data. It was in the form of a snail mail sent to my sister who lives in America. The company threatened him, "We have your SSN but if you pay, we won't give it out." Not just a lie but a hollow lie: Europeans don't have SSNs. LOL
I love Jim and Pam, but you guys are right. Angela and Dwight start off almost perfect for one another, and by the end of the show, they are absolutely PERFECT for one another. Seriously, at the end of the show they seriously do make each other their best selves, live for one another and complete each other. But...that is one of the most perfect scenes in television history.
BJ Novak once said that Ryan and Kelly have one thing in common: they both love Ryan. I’ve always thought that was the most brilliant way to boil down the dynamics of that relationship.
But their relationship is definitely codependent and toxic!!! I dont know how he didn’t rank them lowest or second lowest. I mean l love Ryan and Kelly but they’re terrible. Lol nvmd he didn’t include them in list
Dwight's line to Angela when he yells "I will raise a hundred children with a hundred of your lovers if it means I can be with you" still to this day brings my joy.
That's how you know he had real growth! Tellingly, Kelly being in the middle also makes sense because she didn't have much growth at all. On the surface she said she wanted a mature adult relationship, like with Darryl or the pediatrician she was dating at the end, but it wasn't real and she immediately went back to Ryan first chance she got, showing she really hasn't learned.
The best part of Ryan and Kelly was Toby remarking that "I don't think Michael meant to torment me by putting Ryan and Kelly next to me, but if he did....well done."
@@sneaksyranger what I love is that Toby is the HR guy!! He should be stepping in here…but he’s frozen like a deer in headlights! All he can do is eavesdrop with rapt, morbid fascination.
@@sarahhopper8891Omg too accurate lololol Toby’s deadpan face is what makes his character so brilliant. It’s so painful watching him yet the fact that he’s Michael’s arch enemy makes it a strange roller coaster ride (as a viewer) of empathizing with him one moment and having irrational hatred for him at the same time lololol
I love the scene where Packer comes back to town, and Michael stops making misogynistic jokes because of Holly. I think she brings out the best in him.
Even better, he finally sees Packer for who he really is, and finally stops looking up to and trying to emulate him. I think for the longest time Michael thought he admired Packer, but it was only because Packer enjoyed having Michael reaffirm his gross behavior. Packer gave Michael the most acceptance and belonging he had gotten from anyone for a long time, the belonging that Michael so ardently needs. But being with Holly, Michael finally knows what true acceptance feels like, and it opens his eyes to his friendship with Packer. Packer only accepts him as long as Michael goes along with him, he doesn't actually see Michael as an equal.
Packer is the most utterly contemptible person in the series. He shows zero growth or any indication of empathy, and he clearly gets off on making people cringe. The reason he was successful as a salesman is there are unfortunately a lot of other people just like him in the upper echelons of corporate America.
@@KC3YCU, we have someone who used to be in the former upper echelon of corporate America trying to run for president. This person is a seasoned professional when it comes to manipulating people to "cut corners. " He insults people who are not him and whines when he loses or blames others.
My favorite couple is Philips and Bob Vance, he supports her a lot and makes her happy, and he always accompanies her to any office event. She also admires him a lot and shows him off all the time.
The 'love is patient' scene is so beautiful. It was really brave for the writers to explore conflict in Jim and Pam's relationship in the last season of the show. Originally the intention was for infidelity to be the conflict and Jenna Fischer and John Krasinski (who were both producers on the show) really pushed back on that idea. That pushed the writers to reach for something that was more rooted in previous behaviors like Jim making big decisions without talking to Pam and Pam struggling to communicate her needs. The conflict felt more grounded in reality and the resolution felt more earned. They also showed the repair efforts Jim and Pam made. This scene in particular is one of my absolute favorites because it shows them wanting to connect upstairs as they're saying goodbye and then just missing each other. Then Pam sees the umbrella and decides to make one of those bids for connection by taking it to him. Initially Jim doesn't really respond to the bid, but then decides to turn toward Pam and respond with his own bid for connection with the hug. It's really vulnerable for him to hold on when she starts to break away, but he does anyway. Pam is struggling with accepting his efforts to repair because she hasn't felt seen or heard. She kind of resists the hug because you can see she's processing how she feels. She ultimately decides to accept the hug, but it's not because she feels like she should-rather it's because she wants to. They do all of that with very few words but you can see all of it on John and Jenna's faces. Their acting is absolutely incredible. The scene makes me cry every single time.
If it weren't for Brian the boom guy this rough patch for Jim and Pam would have been perfectly executed. I love this storyline because it's so real. Every married couple gets strained at times and has to work through it. That's life. It also wasn't the first time the writers wanted to explore unfaithfulness in Jim and Pam's relationship. In season 8 when the staff went to Florida, the original plan was for Jim to cheat on Pam with Cathy, but luckily John Krasinski stepped in and refused to do it
@@MRDY4322 I cringed at the part with the brrom guy too but i think that it really showed how unaware Jim was about Pam's struggles, so that someone who just watches her at work among other coworkers could pick up on how much she struggled while her own husband wasn't aware of it, Jim didn't really consider her side of things, he went to fulfill his dreams but she was left in the harsh reality with the kids and the fear of losing him, he was in the clouds while she was on the ground, then when he became roomates with Darryl we saw how messy and uncaring he could be and that made me imagine Pam's life with him, she's an orderly person, trying to take care of everyone, hence why her job was perfect for her, so since the moment they started living together, she surely had to take care of those little things that Jim probably didn't even pay attention to, we never saw her complain about it except when Darryl mentionned it (and that's part of the problem) but well, that was a thing on the back of my mind, and i guess all i'm trying to say is that the broom guy (actually i think his name was Bryan?) allowed us to see that Pam actually needed some consideration for those little things Jim didn't notice and seeing this side of Jim cemented the fact that these characters really weren't perfect, they felt so human and the wedding flashback really summed it all, love is the glue keeping them together and it forces them to try and be better versions of themselves
I regularly say to my husband, when we are on different wavelengths and he wants alone time, "sorry I annoyed you with my friendship". One of my favorite lines from the show.
It's great when we develop ways/shared jokes to defuse the tension in those types of moments. Acknowledging each others feelings in a gentle, non-accusatory way
My favorite moment with Michael comes from when Holly is in another relationship in "Company Picnic" and he chooses to enjoy the day with her but without making a play for her affection as he originally planned. His touching faith at the end that he and Holly will have "a long story, and then it will be perfect," is so sweet and full of hope.
When I saw that scene the first time, I knew then they had something real. I was so happy when the proposal finally happened! It makes me tear up a little every time I see it. 🥹
One of my absolute favourite moments on The Office is the episode where Michael gets lost in Scranton, and the only one who's able to trace him is Holly. That moment when they find each other at the roof of the building is.. God. What an adorable scene.
@@mssamantharose17 I think the best part is that she genuinely doesn't realize it until she meets him at the top of the building. She's really just proving how perfect she is for him, both to Dwight and Erin, but also to herself.
I love them so much because it rewards Michael with waiting, not knowing if he will find someone better than Jan or someone who will understand him because up until now, no one has. And it paid off like don't be afraid to be alone because it puts you in the path to who you deserve and will do and be things that you had to beg other people to be
I can definitely agree with Michael and Holly being the healthiest relationship. My favorite is obviously Jim and Pam but Michael and Holly are literally made for each other.
It was also so bittersweet cause then he drops that he’s leaving. The cast of the office had gotten very close with each other, so the emotions were very on point.
That scene of Jim and Pam reconnecting will never not make me cry. Like ugly cry. It's one of the most beautiful and heartbreaking moments I've witnessed on any show. The amount of hope it fills me with is unreal. And yes I had tears streaming down my face just from this clip.
That scene is beautiful. Perfect technically (acting, editing, etc.) and such a beautiful, very much earned, moment. And we feel so good because we want them to make it. In this scene you know their marriage has passed its toughest test.
I hadn't seen the proposal between Michael and Holly before this episode, but MAN. If someone ever proposes to me with a bunch of candles set up like it's a Phantom of the Opera set AND makes a goofy inside joke that makes me laugh and cry at the same time? I would have a very hard time saying no 😂❤.
As a person with OCD, if someone proposed to me in an office that *sells paper* and is full of *paper* and lit candles, I would freak out and run to get a fire extinguisher XD
@purple_polenta I'm a bit of a romantic, so that wouldn't even occur to me until something went wrong 🤣. This is why we need people who think differently in the world! ❤️
I do like that scene when Jan tries to stop Michael on the train and shouts out how he supports her when her own family won’t speak to her. It’s a rare actually positive moment for them
The only time I kinda liked Jan 😂 I mean, she is FUN to hate though 😂 But I agree, she’s actually super mature and kind to him in that moment when he really needs it!
I absolutely NEED a deepdive on Pam and Jim's relationship!! ALSO a video on The Office's platonic relationships! Actually.....any videos at all on The Office
Ermegerd!! Exactly! I’d love to see more coverage of friendships and other platonic relationships. I’m kinda thinking that this is a bit of a…I don’t want to say blind spot but defintely an oversight on this channel. I would LOVE- LOVE to see the CT guys cover the relationships in the film Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping. It’s a favorite of my fella & me.
It's worth noting with when Kelly lies about being pregnant that Ryan was lying as well. In a previous episode it had been referenced that he had emailed Karen asking her out while with Kelly and she turned him down.
Jim and Dwight's relationship dynamic would actually be a fascinating video all on its own. Most people root for Jim by default, but the show steps back a couple of times to examine his treatment of Dwight critically and it really makes you reevaluate who the bad guy is there. But they are also there for each other in some crucial moments, so it's not completely toxic one way or the other. Dunno if it fits into the standard formats you've established, but it'd definitely be worth doing.
I'll always love the scene in the "complaint box" episode where Michael is reading Dwight's list of complaints of about Jim regarding all the pranks. As it cuts to Jim's confessional between each prank and he slowly realizes how pathetic he's been by wasting all his time pranking Dwight, when he could have been bettering himself.
One of my favorite moments in the show is Jim and Dwight going on a sales call together. They fight the whole way there, then they make the sale in a spectacular way, as if they were coordinated by a single brain, then they fight the whole way back. Ultimately, they feel like brothers who love each other, but the older one feels like its his duty to haze the younger, just to keep him from getting too big for his britches.
I never liked the character of Jim and found him heinous. Then again, I only saw a handful of episodes, mostly because I couldn't understand why so many people rooted for Jim.
What I like about this channel is that it doesn’t rigidly stuck to formats and enjoys the nuances more than the same old plot devices every time. I’d love to see them do a video on Jim & Dwight, I hope they see your comment 🤞
I want more Dwight appreciation. Like why Dwight is the most perfect example of self-confidence and self-respect. There's lots of examples where people where he's being mocked and ridiculed, but his comfort in himself really demonstrates how he's the perfect role model in terms of identity.
Then there's the side that I identify with, Dwight with children. "Did you just ask me if this is a cow?" When the little boy doesn't understand farm animals. "It was a stupid question so you're gonna get made fun of."
I’m glad that by season 9 we see that Roy put himself together and is in what seems like a genuinely happy relationship. It helps that it’s been so many years since we’ve seen him and he hasn’t ever tried to get back into Pam’s life. He knows he screwed up and worked on his issues for him, not to win her back.
Yeah, I think it shows that just because two people are bad for eachother, doesn't mean they're bad people. Roy and Pam were capable of being a great husband and wife, just not for eachother.
There are two reasons why I truly love this show: Jim & Pam: This is one of the most realistic portrayals of a committed, romantic relationship I've seen anywhere. Michael: In the first season of the show, Michael is very similar to his counterpart on the British version of the show. When the US version gained so much popularity, the writers realized that they couldn't leave Michael the way he was, because it would be too offensive and off-putting for a longer show. So following the first season, they changed Steve Carell's wardrobe, and started having him consistently learn lessons throughout the show, so that the character could grow over time. Alongside those lessons are the deepening of genuine relationships between himself and the other members of the office. As a result, when he departs the show, it's in an incredibly healthy place and his leaving is impactful.
A correction here: Throughout the series you get to understand that Michael does not and will not learn. He is constantly hearing what he wants to hear, and refuses to acknowledge when he's in the wrong. If you don't know what you're doing wrong, you cannot improve. I just finished watching the series about a month ago and I can only pick out 2 moments where Michael actually learned something: 1st when he was being absolutelly uncooperative as a co-manager, and got to appreciate Jim's help in taking some of the burden. 2nd: that one scene mentioned on top 1, in the Danger Level: Midnight watch party, everyone was 100% on board with not letting Michael know what they truly thought about his movie, because he does not handle criticism well. It's only Holly who doesn't lie to his face, and what does Michael do? Gets really, really upset. But then we have a moment of actual character growth where Michael calms himself down, accepts that his work is not what he envisioned to be, and now enjoys it with everyone else for what it is.
@@Zuldaar hmmm.. I can kinda see what you are saying, but I do see growth in Michael's character over the show. I think all of us change, and stay the same. My favorite character arc in the entire show is the Michael Scott Paper Company. It's such a great example of someone recognizing they to change their life, leave a role where they are unappreciated, and do something really risky that pays off in the end. I think that was Michael's biggest moment, and if he has little relapses later, that's realistic, too.
@@lara1208-b1p sorry but you may be misremembering, he quitting was nothing short of a tantrum, he was so delusional about himself he thought he could compete against dunder mifflin (he couldn't), he basically scammed Wallace by letting him buy his worthless company for his old job (no raise). There was no Michael Scott development in that entire arc, it was Pam who had some development since it was from this event onwards that she stopped being the receptionist.
One of my favorite things about Michael’s growth thanks to his time and love for Holly, is when he realizes that Todd Packer is the worst when he calls Holly uptight. For me, that was it, the epithome of Michael Scott’s journey through maturity.
The healthy part was Darryl knowing his boundaries and being honest about them. The healthy part wasn't choosing his child per say. I will always choose my husband and he'll always choose me. And as a daughter; I wish both of my parents felt that way. Instead I had to watch one parent feeling this way while the other was like you. It was painful. Awful. Parents are the heart of a home. They're the roots and trunk of a tree - us children are the leaves, the fruits, the expansion. We will grow to find love, we will leave and grow our own tree with somebody else we chose. Children should never come first - they are a couple's priority, but the priority of the individuals making the couple should be one another for the sake of everyone involved...
Is that referring to a man who already has kids? If that's the case then yes. If they are your shared kids, that's not healthy. Parents can meet their children's needs while placing their marriage first.
An office bromances would be awesome, I love how Jim and Dwight end up as besties by the end of the show, btw this is an episode I have been wanting for over a year at this point, and I think you guys nailed it!
Oh, yes, would definitely like to see! Just Office friendships in general, could include ones like Erin & Kelly, Pam & Angela, Phyllis & Stanley, Andy & Darryl, Michael & Dwight, etc...
“It’s not about what they’re like at their best, it’s about what they’re like at their worst.” As someone who’s seen their fair share of attachment traumas, this puts it alllll in perspective. Genuinely restorative to hear.
@@carbon.life.4m That was my other guess right when I heard it. Both those were so toxic. I also wouldn’t be surprised if Angela and Dwight weren’t high up. They are cute and dk love each other but they also did too many mind games with each other
my take is that Ryan and Kelly are cartoonishly toxic to the point that you normally don't see in real life, and usually not a damaging concept because neither of them really commits to the bit. Michael and Jan are so so bad because they're so real. I had a marriage like their relationship and it's horrifying. it feels weird putting so much heat on roy because he was reacting to being cheated on, but outside of tv that rage is absolutely just abusive and terrifying and I could make the case roy is the worst partner in the entire show for his violent outbursts.
4:44 / In the scene with Pam and Roy when she confesses she kissed Jim before what was going to be their wedding, I love the use of music with the timeless Kansas song, “Carry on Wayward Son”. The message in that moment was echoed through the bar. “There’ll be peace when you are done… Lay your weary head to rest… Donchu cry no more.” ^ Electric guitar jam session follows 🎸
Watching Jim and Pam's relationship was hard, but watching Michael and Holly was pure fun. I really don't like Michael, but I loved to see him happy. Thank you two for making me laugh and cry again at the show I just discovered this year.
Attempt #(14) of asking for Spirit : Stallion of the Cimarron!! Was my absolute childhood movie growing up and the filmmaking is so beautiful with amazing scores and concepts of loss and staying true to once nature even in the face of adversity!
Michael being in both the worst and the best rated relationship just proves that it's not always the person that's "toxic" it's sometimes just the combination
Yes I had to realize that with my ex husband I wasn’t meant to be with him and he is thriving with his new wife and me with mine he stopped drinking I bettered myself we weren’t good together
I appreciate that scene of Jim and Pam hugging before he leaves on his trip so much more now that I'm married. Tough stuff comes up, and sometimes even at the end of a healthy but emotionally draining conversation, there still isn't a resolution. But taking a moment to reconnect and reaffirm how we feel for each other helps move the focus from what we're disagreeing about to what we do agree on: that we love each other, we're on the same team, and we'll work to figure it out together.
Jim and Pam had a great relationship with each other, communicated and worked very well….with each other. They hurt a lot of people along the way to coming together. They were very manipulative to others, and communicated dishonestly with others, often times on purpose. They justified their actions by saying that all of that was because of how they felt about each other. Cute couple, TERRIBLE terrible love story. 👎👎
That Jim and Pam moment makes me BAWL every damn time. I'm currently typing this comment with wet eyes. They may not be the most healthy, but they are definitely my favorite couple on the show.
Jann and Scott's dinner episode is undoubtedly THE most uncomfortable experience in TV history for me. And I'm honestly glad they broke up because they both deserve happiness and they both find it with other people. Side note: I LOVE how dumbfounded Jonathan is when the sponsor part starts and Alan has changed shirts. Killed me when Alan just cut him off and started talking about the sponsor.
It’s funny because I usually have a lot of issues with secondhand embarrassment and there are episodes of The Office that I will never watch again (ex Scott’s Tots). That being said, I LOVE the dinner party episode and have watched it multiple times
Off the cuff, I’ll say: 9: Ron and Tammy (and Tammy 1)- toxic, manipulative, incredibly unhealthy. 8. Tom and Ann (just lots of conflict and disagreements and just… neither are really ever happy) 7. Andy and Ann (some genuine affection, but also selfishness and enabling going on) 6. April and Andy (genuinely a good relationship for most of the show, but the early stages before they actually became a couple had a fair amount of not great behavior) 5. Donna and Joe (solid love and support, and good relationship growth for Donna) 4. Chris and Ann (good independent growth and development for both of them, which let them have an OKAY relationship the first time improve into an EXCELLENT relationship the second) 3. Jerry and Gayle (only because we see so little of their relationship on screen. As described and implied, it would be number 1) 2. Ben and Leslie (good growth and collaboration for both of them, shared goals, love and affection, and we also see them work through arguments and disagreements in a healthy way). 1. Ron and Diane (all the same great things, but I think we also see the good relationship ALSO come with a more significant shift in Ron becoming a better version of himself as a result of that relationship).
listen. i've recenly been obsessed with the office. i absolutely love this channel. i was looking for a kinda long video to watch while doing the dishes. THE STARS HAVE FINALLY ALIGNED
I think an interesting episode for you guys to cover would be exploring Michael's journey to find love and acceptance. Michael spends the entire series trying to be the boss everyone loves, and doing so makes everyone hate him, which makes him miserable. Yet by the end of his time on the show, he really does become the boss he always wanted to be
Some future office ideas: I would love a deep dive on Michael - can he be diagnosed with anything, what makes him tick, what would a therapy conversation look like etc? Also, Jim and Dwight would be a great side by side comparison - they're so different. They start by basically being enemies and ending up with Jim in Dwight's wedding party - it's a great journey to highlight. Even just one on Jim (and his constant pranks) would be interesting. Andy would be another interesting conversation. For example: it was one of Jim's pranks that caused Andy to punch a hole in the wall - what could have been done so it didn't reach that point (not just the obvious of Jim not pushing him to anger). What do you think about Andy coming back from his anger management retreat "cured", is that a reasonable expectation of anger management? What about his behavior throughout the rest of the series? Just some thoughts, great video guys! I'm glad you're doing some office stuff ^^
Love Kelly and Darryl moments, because you can see how Kelly could be a better person. When he interrupts her and just says "Slow down. Think it over" is actually incredibly funny.
I would love to see an analysis of the friendships that develop in The Office. Like between Dwight and Pam, Dwight and Jim, Jim and Michael, Creed and absolutely no one...
I actually screamed YES! When you announced no 1! I very damn well knew they would be number 1, I will forever and forever live on the hill that Micheal and Holly are what Pam and Jim could never be!
i really really love Michael and Holly I definitely agree that they are number 1. Ever since I watched them I have wanted a relationship like them. They are so lame and dorky together, and I love them so much
Did you know that the snip snap thing was completely improvised? The reaction you see on Angela’s face was genuine. Also, in that episode Angela was pregnant in real life. You can kind of see it because they try to hide her with a pillow or flowers.
PLEASE do Scrubs!!! JD & Elliot, Turk & Carla, Cox & Jordan, Janitor & Lady, Kelso & Enis (even though we never see her), Ted and Gooch, Elliot & Keith would be great 😍😍😍
Please do a video on Tombstone (1993) the movie is a downright masterpiece, and there's so much to unpack from the friendship between Wyatt and Doc, romance and relationships, how not to cope with grief, villain psychology etc.
I fully agree with this list and all of your thoughts! It also really hit home when you mentioned how Roy doesn't see Pam and only is there for her when he wants to be, and that Kelly doesn't have the confidence to be with someone who chooses her, which clearly isn't Ryan. My 6.5 year relationship just ended for two of these reasons, and I hope to have someone in the future who chooses me and is there for me in the hard times, even when it's inconvenient.
good luck, i wish you lots of happiness & a healthy relationship(s?)!!! never settle bc you deserve better than that from yourself & a significant other :) i saved sooo many self love / self empowerment quotes after an unhealthy relationship years ago & found a bunch of them this week & one of my faves is "the worst thing in the world can happen, but the next day the sun will come up. and you will eat your toast. and you will drink your tea." idk if it'll help you like it helped me, but hopefully it helped a bit !!
I never watched this The Office series before because the show never been broadcasted at where I am but I am glad to see some glimpses of it by watching this video. So thank you, Cinema Therapy!
I love the part near the end of the series when Jim shows Pam what she means to him through a DVD that has clips of many small, and some large, happy moments Jim has with her. In another room, Dwight is telling Jim he actually wants to be a committed relationship with Angela but has trouble deciding whether or not he should stay with the woman he's currently engaged to. Then Jim tells Dwight what he feels for Pam is what helps him handle difficult decisions.
I feel like there should be a "bro" relationship topic for this show. Also even with little episodes or scenes with Bob Vance and Phyllis, they should have been up here due to the history we do learn from them and it almost every time they are on screen, Bob is amazed by Phyllis and loves her for herself and always showing support. And Phyllis also feeling lucky and grateful to have him in her life too. It's just a sweet vibe.
I always really adored and wished for more Phyllis and Vance romance. They always seemed like they married late when both were settled into themselves and enjoyed the fun of choosing romance and making the most and naughtiest of it.
That Roy and Pam analysis spoke so much to me. I do that all the time like thinking about all the good things we had and all the good things he did for me but then I think about all the negative things and what came with thise situations... now , granted, I'm not with the person anymore but I think I'm still trying to make excuses for me staying there when I really REALLY knew it wasn't healthy. Gosh I feel bad now lmao
Oooo deep dive on Dwight and Jim’s Friend/enemy arc! :) Love you guys so much, thank you for posting and finally getting to one of my favorite comfort show! ❤❤❤ keep up the awesome work!
I thought of an interesting episode that would great but EXTREMELY complicated would be doing some kind of episode on Bojack Horseman. However, there are so many layers to it that it would need to be several episodes due to the average length of each Cinema Therapy video combined with the fact for both Jonathan and Alan would need to go season by season to explore the entirety of Bojack. Then, maybe some videos on other characters or sections of the show.
This channel is the only one where I always enjoy and never skip the paid promotion part of the video, John and Alan always find a way to make them funny
I would love another The Office video from you guys about the top relationships, but friendship edition! Because there are SO many good ones like Dwight/Jim, Pam/Dwight, Dwight/Micheal it's what makes the show the best thing for me more so than the romantic pairings.
This is a bit of a long-shot and somewhat unreasonable request due to the length of it, but I'd LOVE to see several videos diving into the psychology of Mad Men. I feel like it's a treasure trove of content, from how unaddressed trauma and guilt can affect a life, parenting/parental relationships, how women have to exert themselves in different ways in the workplace etc. A villain/(anti) hero therapy dive into Don Draper would be so interesting!
Jim and Pam is what we say out loud about how we wish to have a relationship. But deep down, we all envy how Michael and Holly were made for each other
Michael is a great boss! He truly cares about each worker, he let's Phyllis take 2 hour lunches, he approves time off no problem, he creates a fun environment which does up productivity because selling paper is soooo boring, he breaks up boring work with meetings, he creates a community. All work and no play equals low sales, that branch was consistently the highest selling branch.
Good take! Jan was great and the fact she had to deal with Michael’s harassment to the point of being blamed for it and then when she indulged she gets canned (yes she was slacking off but she was clearly depressed) will never not be a great way to showcase how female managers are treated.
I am SO happy you're diving into the office ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ please do loads of episodes on it. Would especially love to see a Dwight episode. He is my all time favourite character on any TV show. I love him so much 😂 I think he's a misunderstood sweetie 😂
I cried when I first saw the Holly episodes, because I was stuck in a Jan relationship. Seeing that stark contrast and watching some of your videos, then pairing those with months and years of the rebuild that was required due to the damage the jan type relationship gave, after an appropriate amount of time I found my holly...yes we are both incredibly adhd but in all best ways and our very odd shapes fit perfectly together and just like Michel and Holly it just makes sense. I'm also proud I went 7 of 7 for what order and who 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Yes please more of The Office content! Ranking relationships part 2, navigating different relationships/major relationship plot lines, villains, etc etc. PLEASE.
There is also a scene (I think the first Dundies episode) in the parking lot that suggests he was capable of physical violence against Pam. NO NO NO NEVER. Get Pam away from him!
Every one of your videos that I've seen is used as a light to show me something that I definitely need to pray about and work through. I *felt* it when Roy threw that glass and I had to admit something to myself. THIS IS MINISTRY, just as sure as you two are my favorite TH-cam cousins. ✊🏽 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

Mindy Kahling said too that the running joke in the writers room was “most people think they’re Pam and Jim but really are Ryan & Kelly”
But their relationship is definitely codependent and toxic!!! I dont know how he didn’t rank them lowest or second lowest. I mean l love Ryan and Kelly but they’re terrible.
Lol nvmd he didn’t include them in list
Lmao his name is BJ
Dwight's line to Angela when he yells "I will raise a hundred children with a hundred of your lovers if it means I can be with you" still to this day brings my joy.

And with candles being a prominent point of both!
@@skytiger859oh dang, I'd never noticed the candles! 😮
Date Mike strikes again
Character growth

The reason he was successful as a salesman is there are unfortunately a lot of other people just like him in the upper echelons of corporate America.
and I think he even says that he realized that he is not a good guy and that he's not even that funny
Exactly like what happened in the end of the office uk

I'm so happy they didn't go with the infadelity thing, it would've felt sooo out of character for either of them to do
I regularly say to my husband, when we are on different wavelengths and he wants alone time, "sorry I annoyed you with my friendship".

I loooove that scene too, gives me the feels and reminds me of how my hubbie was with me before marriage.
When I saw that scene the first time, I knew then they had something real. I was so happy when the proposal finally happened! It makes me tear up a little every time I see it. 🥹
It’s so cute!
I love that scene too. Shows that he really loves her, wants her to be happy, even though he knows they are soup snakes.
"BFD, engaged ain't married...never, ever, ever, give up"
One of my absolute favourite moments on The Office is the episode where Michael gets lost in Scranton, and the only one who's able to trace him is Holly. That moment when they find each other at the roof of the building is.. God. What an adorable scene.
Only a person like Michael could have found Michael. Absolutly love that episode and the message it gives. ❤
Yes! One of my all-time favorite episodes. "You don't think he'd walk by that bakery just for the smell of it?" She knows him better than anyone.
And it paid off like don't be afraid to be alone because it puts you in the path to who you deserve and will do and be things that you had to beg other people to be
That was the best part to prove she was meant for him !!!
Love how Michael went from hating Jan’s candles to filling an entire room with candles to propose to Holly. Now THAT’S growth.
Just an example of how it's not the things we experience that truly matter, but the people with whom we share those experiences.
I can definitely agree with Michael and Holly being the healthiest relationship. My favorite is obviously Jim and Pam but Michael and Holly are literally made for each other.
They're not literally made for each other. Metaphorically, yes. Literally, no.

That scene is beautiful. Perfect technically (acting, editing, etc.) and such a beautiful, very much earned, moment. And we feel so good because we want them to make it. In this scene you know their marriage has passed its toughest test.
Their quiet "I love you" at the same time really hit hard 😭♥️
I hadn't seen the proposal between Michael and Holly before this episode, but MAN. As a person with OCD, if someone proposed to me in an office that *sells paper* and is full of *paper* and lit candles, I would freak out and run to get a fire extinguisher XD
@whenwordsfail I'll have to watch all it! In sequential order, not just random episodes 😅. It'll take me some time, of course lol.
@purple_polenta I'm a bit of a romantic, so that wouldn't even occur to me until something went wrong 🤣. This is why we need people who think differently in the world! ❤️

Thanks! That's good context
Aaaah yes. I knew he was full of crap, anyway; Karen has too much self-respect. 😂
Yesss! This! Adding to it some commentary about the concept of "Frenemies"
@@oliviastratton2169 I mean, Roy was kind of abusive..
@@360shadowmoon How so?
@@oliviastratton2169 he’s very controlling and aggressive towards Pam
@@360shadowmoon He got angry a couple times and he was very unsupportive. I don’t think that made him an abusive boyfriend, just a lousy one.
I still am always so terrified the moment Roy throws that glass.
Why?
@@88Grimmjow because we empathize with Pam, and in that scene she’s in a lot of danger
There are two reasons why I truly love this show:
Jim & Pam: This is one of the most realistic portrayals of a committed, romantic relationship I've seen anywhere.
I just finished watching the series about a month ago and I can only pick out 2 moments where Michael actually learned something:
1st when he was being absolutelly uncooperative as a co-manager, and got to appreciate Jim's help in taking some of the burden.
My dad always said “never ask a man to choose between his kids or you. A good dad chooses his kids every time.”
I had a boyfriend who had to choose between me and his son a couple times. He always chose his son. I married that man :)
Don’t forget Pam and Dwight. He calls her his best friend in the end after all
“It’s not about what they’re like at their best, it’s about what they’re like at their worst.” As someone who’s seen their fair share of attachment traumas, this puts it alllll in perspective. Genuinely restorative to hear.
Immediately calling that the worst is going to be Ryan and Kelly
Edit: Welp. I guess we're not right all the time.
Going to guess that it’s Jan and Michael? 👀
I was thinking Pam and her ex fiance 😂
I think we all assume that because of how ongoing the attention- seeking is from BOTH of them. 😂
I would love to see a Cinema Therapy for Brooklyn 99 friendships (one) and relationships (two). There's soooo much to dig into in that show.

What??? "The Office"??? What a surprise, thank You so much.
Jim&Pam and Michael&Holly are the best.

Off the cuff, I’ll say:
9: Ron and Tammy (and Tammy 1)- toxic, manipulative, incredibly unhealthy.
8. Tom and Ann (just lots of conflict and disagreements and just… neither are really ever happy)
7. Andy and Ann (some genuine affection, but also selfishness and enabling going on)
6. April and Andy (genuinely a good relationship for most of the show, but the early stages before they actually became a couple had a fair amount of not great behavior)
5. Donna and Joe (solid love and support, and good relationship growth for Donna)
4. Chris and Ann (good independent growth and development for both of them, which let them have an OKAY relationship the first time improve into an EXCELLENT relationship the second)
3. Jerry and Gayle (only because we see so little of their relationship on screen. As described and implied, it would be number 1)

I think an interesting episode for you guys to cover would be exploring Michael's journey to find love and acceptance. Michael spends the entire series trying to be the boss everyone loves, and doing so makes everyone hate him, which makes him miserable. Yet by the end of his time on the show, he really does become the boss he always wanted to be
I'm so glad you guys covered The Office! I still need to watch it in entirety, and this episode only reaffirmed that ❤.

also 10/10 putting Michael and Holly at #1
Some future office ideas:
I would love a deep dive on Michael - can he be diagnosed with anything, what makes him tick, what would a therapy conversation look like etc?

PLEASE do Scrubs!!! JD & Elliot, Turk & Carla, Cox & Jordan, Janitor & Lady, Kelso & Enis (even though we never see her), Ted and Gooch, Elliot & Keith would be great 😍😍😍
Ryan and Kelly being writers on the office would’ve been the best experience on a show
Please do a video on Tombstone (1993) the movie is a downright masterpiece, and there's so much to unpack from the friendship between Wyatt and Doc, romance and relationships, how not to cope with grief, villain psychology etc.
I’VE BEEN HOPING FOR THIS FOR SO LONG!! BEST SHOW EVER!!!
I never watched this The Office series before because the show never been broadcasted at where I am but I am glad to see some glimpses of it by watching this video. So thank you, Cinema Therapy!
Let's be honest, we need a couples therapy episode for Jim and Dwight
I love the part near the end of the series when Jim shows Pam what she means to him through a DVD that has clips of many small, and some large, happy moments Jim has with her. In another room, Dwight is telling Jim he actually wants to be a committed relationship with Angela but has trouble deciding whether or not he should stay with the woman he's currently engaged to. Then Jim tells Dwight what he feels for Pam is what helps him handle difficult decisions.
Kelly and Darryl could've been an IT couple if she was like 15% more mature
So happy you guys are branching out into TV! There are so many good characters, relationships and villains to cover in television!
I know you all said there were so many relationships to cover but I am sad you all didn't do Andy and Erin.
They could've gone the distance if the writers hadn't raked Andy's character over the coals in the last seasons
Also there's some debate about whether they are broken up in the series finale...
They were so cute but the writers fumbled with them weirdly at the end so I can see why it's difficult to talk about them
I feel like there should be a "bro" relationship topic for this show.
My husband and I both married late and we are the better for it!
I would have loved to see your opinion on any (and all) of Andy's relationships, especially with erin
Oooo deep dive on Dwight and Jim’s Friend/enemy arc! :) Love you guys so much, thank you for posting and finally getting to one of my favorite comfort show! ❤❤❤ keep up the awesome work!
I hope this gets a part 2 because I really wanted them to talk about Angela and Andy
Wow you guys are so good at incorporating the ad into the video that I truly enjoy watching it and don’t skip 😂
Guys you should a video about ranking friends’s couples
Yes please
You guys rock. I loved watching your takes on this beloved show!
I love this. Please do it with Parks and Rec. Thank you.
i was literally about to comment this and then i saw yours!
Jim and Pam is what we say out loud about how we wish to have a relationship. But deep down, we all envy how Michael and Holly were made for each other
19:57 not me crying over that scene
I wept so much and my mom heard it from the outside the house, I was so embarrassed XD
I would love to rank the bosses of the office based on toxicity. I think Jan is actually a great boss, and Michael is one of the most incompetent.
I always cry at that Jim and Pam moment where it flashes back to their wedding and the “love never fails” scene. 🤣😭
I'm also proud I went 7 of 7 for what order and who 🤘🏻🤘🏻
I did not just have a revelation about why my last relationship blew up like it did on a youtube video ranking couples from The Office.
So nice to see Michael getting happiness at the end with Holly! And I agree Jim IS the villain 😂
Yes please more of The Office content! Ranking relationships part 2, navigating different relationships/major relationship plot lines, villains, etc etc. PLEASE.
Roy tries to attack jim though, so proves that what you said
There is also a scene (I think the first Dundies episode) in the parking lot that suggests he was capable of physical violence against Pam. NO NO NO NEVER. Get Pam away from him!
Would love to see a part 2! There are so many office relationships
Oddly enough, the Dinner Party episode is one of the funniest in the series. Even the cast behind the scenes couldn't hold it together.
Every one of your videos that I've seen is used as a light to show me something that I definitely need to pray about and work through. I *felt* it when Roy threw that glass and I had to admit something to myself.
THIS IS MINISTRY, just as sure as you two are my favorite TH-cam cousins. ✊🏽
👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
I would love a villain therapy for Ryan lmao.
Also, 100% approve this list
My wife and I started going through The Office together about a month ago and I've been dying to have you guys review it! Thank you!!
YES!! I've been waiting so long for you to do a video on the office! I would love a video dedicated to just Michael one day
3:00 “it breeds contempt, it breeds resentment.” And it breeds my favorite episode of the office 😂😂😂
🎶"That one night!"🎶
PLEASE make more videos about The Office!! - Like a part 2 relationship video or even a video about the various friendships
