One thing to mention about arts like Power Ring, despite not being a buff, the gems that boost your buff duration and effects do affect them; you probably wont want to use them on a class like Medic Gunner, but I do think it's good knowledge to have.
I found this not to be the case with Yumsmith damaging field. Gem that boosts debuff power did not affect it at all whatsoever. Neither did ether down debuff on the enemy. Neither did Damage up % accessories. Only attack boost gems/accessories increased it's damage.
@@IordArthas Interesting because I've found the exact opposite to be the case with Yumsmith; when testing how long the field lasted and the damage of the blaze tics, I found that the gems increased both it's duration and damage.

Dps in xenoblade 1: Low hp? I can heal myself. Dps in xenoblade 2: Accessory that heals off of crit damage, virtually immortal. Dps in xenoblade 3: I GOT ONE SHOTTED BY A BOSS 5 LEVELS LOWER THAN ME
I don’t think I’ll ever master this combat system and given each xeno has even more complex system than the last, I know I wouldn’t to handle to last game. I feel just from playing xenoblade DE and xenoblade two , I’m like a student trying catch up on a lesson while walking into the class halfway in.
Yea I swear compared to the other two, you CANNOT hold aggro as DPS for too long In the other two I feel like you could afford to keep it on you for quite a bit longer, but in this game so much as a gust of air blows in my general direction I'm at half hp not complaining like as I feel I have to manage my aggro a lot more carefully, especially as one of the first DPS hero classes you can get Either that or I'm misremembering 1 and 2 but hey ho
Something I’ve discovered about talent arts that applies to all classes (though is especially useful with the medic gunner’s talent art) is that while using a talent art, you can’t die. You’ll be brought to 1 hp but you will not die, medic gunner’s talent art can rapidly heal you so if you time it right you can basically never die as long as you have your talent art. I discovered it while playing through the game casually, I was trying to fight a unique monster 5 levels higher than me and I won first try
It is also of note that these undefeatable frames sometimes carry over to your next art, I do not know what triggers this rare occurance but it has happened a bunch of times to me.

It’s either: The unkillable frames last longer than the talent art animation OR, the game is programmed to end those frames when the talent art animation ends but when using an art the frame after the talent art ends (leaving no frames when you aren’t using an art in between) the game can’t tell if it’s a talent art frame or a regular art frame
@@Palindome perhaps there was initially a way to cancel talent arts but was later removed in developement, and somehow the unkillable frames supposed to end as soon as arts and arts cancel window time were over were not taken into account with this change and it still thinks it needs to wait. To prove this hypothesis I'll go try to re-create the bug using a very low recharge build, if I can hold the unkillable frames for far longer than intended (I would say indefinetly but there is likely a backup frame cap) then I'd be right
There was this one Flier near Colony 9 that hits like a truck and kept knocking down my tanks. Once my tanks were done, they went for my healers and the battle was essentially over at that point. I Decided to equip Ninja Healers and I was able to beat it firdt try, as I found the key to that battle is to have Your healers revive your tanks (I imagine everyone runs atleast 2 tanks) as Healing, while helpful, will not outlast the DPS the monster was delivering to me.
I learned that at the midway point of XB2 when I finally figured out how it all really works Dunno if I was just dumb but took me ages to realize how important chain attacks in that game were, but also how they function best

Myopic Screen is such a useful art, and the fact that you can get it essentially free just by using a Medic Gunner on your team always and unlock it for all characters really Helps you out on Dazing Enemies. It's Talent Art is A Regen ring, which is easily Powercrept by Many Agnus class that you can get In the Early-mid game (Lvl 25-30 to be more exact). I am still not in the late game (Mid game) and I found the class to be in the middle of utility. It's an Offensive Heal Support class but Many other support classes do it's role much better. You can never go wrong with one in your team, and if your healers are too good, Ninja Healers is very helpful on Strong Single-Strikers that can One Shot your healers as You need to keep them focused on your Tanks.
actually, the Regen Ring from Medic Gunner is still better than the Agnus ones due to how its Healing is MUCH higher than the Signifier/Strategos ones, which makes sense considering it's a talent art and not a regular art.
Yeah. Now with the DLC,Lapardist has become the best Healer due to Crit Buffs and a hybrid style of offense with healing. Add that with a Dual Field Fusion Art as well as Glimmering Melody,you can pretty much have both a great support/healing and offensive support.
I really wish people kept attacking when you called them to you, it would make things so much easier, the only way I've found to limit movement for AI characters so far is to give them an attack that requires they attack from one direction and no others that have different directions, otherwise they get confused
I do quite like that there are actual Dragon, sorry Drague, type enemies that exist who aren't boss monsters. Its implied that they exist in XC1, but the only ones we see are the Main story boss, the Super boss and the Quest Boss in Future Connected.
This is such an importrant strat that it seems weird the game never highlights it. I've gone from dying right away to surviving bosses while pretty underleveled purely because I could always keep one healer alive to revive everyone
I got through all the superbosses on hard mode by just using Noah's Unlimited Sword and starting the fight with full Talent Gauge. Then spam the Tacheon Slash until you get the instant smash combo haha

@@EnelXC yeah I got bored and tested and class has such a larger effect that the only place it'll really matter is when you're in challenge mode (eventually, since this shit will be optimized like crazy) and if you're going for a super underleved run
The more I watch your videos, the more anxious I want to play XC3 lol. When it comes to games that has attackers, tanks & healers… I most likely go towards the healer route because people hardly play it & I prefer to be in control of healing…
I should mention, there is one thing you forgot with vortex. Unlike group heal vortex vortex actually does increase the healer talent gauge on a consistent basis.

Early game I'd say medic gunner is bit weak as I switched out medic gunner for war medic and saw a much better performance and strategos's moondog is medic gunner's talent as a regular art albeit a smaller radius but put it down where your tanks are and it'll keep them in the fight. But I'll say as you level up and get more access to master arts to boost medic gunner's healing capability could certainly match other healers.
medic gunner early is definitely not weak unless you're in hard mode and need the extra heal from war medic. regen ring is op. and strategos barely even heals as a whole.

Literally! I'm playing Normal mode right now but even so, some of the unique monsters at my level can get prettt dicey - pretty sure I've only survived some of those fights because I took control of my healers and spammed those awesome skills!!
Love the guides man. Gotta say though healers are the most frustrating aspect of Xeno 3 for me so far, currently chapter 7 of hard mode and I swear i just have to play as them on any remotely spicy fight. The AI is absolute dog and just wont bloody heal the tank or drop buff rings on the right person! I just wanna play my evasion tank soul hacker not babysit an AI! End rant.

@@luiserodriguezserrano2362 problem i have there is a lot of the time i dont want them on top of me cos of all the cleaves just close enough to come in to heal when needed and drop fields, both things that even when they are on top of me they will sometimes just refuse to do. I think they arnt programmed to proactively heal, so if im on say 60% hp, in my eyes they should be dropping a heal because the cd is so short regardless, but the ai doesnt seem to start healing until you are below 50 at which point youre starting the cockup cascade
I just realized in manual/auto combat mode, the AI's pretty dumb in not casting heal when the party member needed it. I was battling with a level 78 superboss last night and i died several times cos the heals were not being spammed. I had to manually switch over to either Eunie or Taion to mass spam my heals. Like seriously bruh.
Suggestion for future class videos: How about talking about the master arts and skills the class teaches and how useful they are for other characters to learn. The game encourages you to switch classes once one is mastered. Are there classes that are good for just “teaching” purposes even if they are practical classes?
Heck a good example of this is swordfighter and shadow eye, early on without the right items, gems and certain classes aggro can be robbed. And dps and healers are very fragile in this game, at least in the early game (only level 21 right now and got War medic
Question: Do arts that heal on hit count as "Healing Arts". Or even the Regnerate field arts? Or does "Healing Art" specifically refer only to the arts that are nothing BUT a heal?
@@EnelXC No, it does in fact only apply to "Healing" Arts. This means straight heals or regeneration fields. Multi Blast and Aqua Mind are not affected, as one is an attack with a healing effect and the other is a stance. Even with 47% healing Arts bonus, Multi Blast still heals exactly 75% of damage dealt per hit, up to 100% Healing Power (300% total if all hits cap).
Combining the arts from signifer and miyabi make this class pretty good. In my NG+ file, im using classes as they come, but with the master arts from those two classes, eunie’s the boss. Not only am i getting all the buffs from buffs but buffs from the rings making her an all in one!
I think there might be potential with mio on tank and the healer hero who gives mio tp, to potentially surpass ashera's chain attack potential. Ashera does make it really easy though, especially if you can maximize the tp gain on the characters you use in the first round.
The accessories page is a huge pain in the ass to scroll through, there doesnt seem to be any sorting option and its so hard to find accessories you want when the amount of accessories you have grow to astronomical amounts.
Looking forward to this as well. With their respective base attack stats, I’m wondering if there’s a particular reason he runs Sena as Signifier and Eunie as dps. Not that I’ll be disappointed if it’s just a thematic choice, I love the flexibility in this game, but it’d be neat to learn that Eunie’s genuinely suited for dps classes.
@@amyyost7022 I’d imagine that’s as Sena can be easily reached from Noah to freeze invincibility. And Eunie unlocks FMJ first so would be the first to max it out and it’s just stayed that way. Of course, in the grand scheme the stats don’t matter at all except on the base classes.
For me it started with samon after upgrading the boat in chapter 7 I think. Should be the dock area near the sword city, sorry I don't remember specific location names. I don't remember if there was any other criteria to get the quest to pop up. However, you will have to engage a few side quests in order to complete it. For example 1 quest in the sea area requires riku and manana to discuss something at inlet camp, and this is the only way of meeting one of the nopons for weapon upgrades im pretty sure. I'm pretty sure there's at least 1 other sidequest you have to do as well but I'm not certain and can't remember which one it would be.
I can't wait for the Guardian Commander Guide, as That class seems garbage to me as It relies on your Non-tanks to be attacled for it to gain damage, only to aggro an enemy and Awaken. It's too much effort for it to pop off
It's great that they made healers necessary but I still can't help but be upset that the great field skills go virtually ignored by the AI. Also useless with DPS AI as well. Can't tell you how many times where my squad was all dispersed and not grouped up. On a some what related note, it makes me desire online multiplayer more. It would be so fun to see the shenanigans to occur
Kinda random but do break/topple/daze etc count as debuffs? Wondering if the yumsmiths ability to lower debuff resistance would be useful to a driver combo focused build. Do the debuff focused gems do anything for driver combos either?
Something that isn’t immediately obvious is that there can be ONLY 3 fields active at a time. Setting a fourth field will cause the oldest field to “dissolute” and apply an AoE effect. If you’re spamming other field types then you’ll never get three MG fields, but you probably will have Attack Up buff if your Signifer hasn’t gotten around to it yet.
This is something that absolutely should have been included in the tips menu. I went on assuming that going over the limit meant you lost the oldest field early and nothing else.
Do you have to gather the party before chain attacks for the area buff? Or does it automatically apply to everyone like position arts automatically work?
Would love a segment in the video where you go over if the build should have any differences if the plan is to let the AI have control instead of the player.
Currently playing through NG blind on hard, I almost always find myself running 3 healers for every boss because otherwise I can't keep up with their damage output lol. And I'm only in chapter 5 still.
In first Xenoblade the Sharla always overheated in two we had crit heal but in three healers are the only ones who can revive others clearly the best healers have been

Does Resonant flag pass along field effect buffs? Cuz i can see it work decently well here as a master skill. Power Ring/Maximum Voltage/Ring of Roses transfer is kinda funny, wonder if that would be better than having Signifer main class.
I kind of wish there was an option to unequip party members, even if that results in the loss of ouroboros sorts and such. The solo challenges were kind of a cool thing to see. Playable heroes would also be amazing IMO, I'd love to actually play as all these characters I've unlocked, especially since they tend to have unique animations and arts not available to the playable class versions. Being restricted to one hero is a bit disappointing too, though with how broken some of their chain attacks are, that'd absolutely break the game if replacing party members with heroes was introduced

At the very least, we learned that the early game it may not that beneficial to use these gem yet

Forcing healer only mechanics is kind of a band-aid fix but I think they did it really well and still fit the theme of class based gameplay.

It’s a good trade off of the battle system that you are very brittle but you have so many ways to be unkillable during a battle

Funnily enough Ninja healer is quite nice when your tanks drop like flies in some of the earlier Hard Mode fights.

Remember When Healers were absolutely useless in the Previous games, this game gave healers more purpose very great guide too.
Literally! I'm playing Normal mode right now but even so, some of the unique monsters at my level can get prettt dicey - pretty sure I've only survived some of those fights because I took control of my healers and spammed those awesome skills!!

Gotta say though healers are the most frustrating aspect of Xeno 3 for me so far, currently chapter 7 of hard mode and I swear i just have to play as them on any remotely spicy fight. The AI is absolute dog and just wont bloody heal the tank or drop buff rings on the right person! I just wanna play my evasion tank soul hacker not babysit an AI! End rant.
At least you don't have to commit playing them constantly
@@jerry3115 yeah could have been much worse. I end up having to stay on taion most fights though as his ai just refuses to drop evasion fields on the dodge tank, and i swear down as soon as I swap off him when i feel safe he fucks off to narnia
I have been in these situations and the follow the leader comand works most of the time.
@@luiserodriguezserrano2362 problem i have there is a lot of the time i dont want them on top of me cos of all the cleaves just close enough to come in to heal when needed and drop fields, both things that even when they are on top of me they will sometimes just refuse to do. I think they arnt programmed to proactively heal, so if im on say 60% hp, in my eyes they should be dropping a heal because the cd is so short regardless, but the ai doesnt seem to start healing until you are below 50 at which point youre starting the cockup cascade
I grew to love playing support tbh, although I haven’t played on hard mode for 70% of the game
I've just unlocked Eunie's side quest on chapter 5 fairly quick today. That took me by surprise.
I just realized in manual/auto combat mode, the AI's pretty dumb in not casting heal when the party member needed it. I was battling with a level 78 superboss last night and i died several times cos the heals were not being spammed. I had to manually switch over to either Eunie or Taion to mass spam my heals. Like seriously bruh.

Suggestion for future class videos: How about talking about the master arts and skills the class teaches and how useful they are for other characters to learn. The game encourages you to switch classes once one is mastered. Are there classes that are good for just “teaching” purposes even if they are practical classes?
Heck a good example of this is swordfighter and shadow eye, early on without the right items, gems and certain classes aggro can be robbed. And dps and healers are very fragile in this game, at least in the early game (only level 21 right now and got War medic

Question: Do arts that heal on hit count as "Healing Arts". Or even the Regnerate field arts?
Or does "Healing Art" specifically refer only to the arts that are nothing BUT a heal?

@@EnelXC No, it does in fact only apply to "Healing" Arts. This means straight heals or regeneration fields.
Multi Blast and Aqua Mind are not affected, as one is an attack with a healing effect and the other is a stance.
Even with 47% healing Arts bonus, Multi Blast still heals exactly 75% of damage dealt per hit, up to 100% Healing Power (300% total if all hits cap).
Combining the arts from signifer and miyabi make this class pretty good. In my NG+ file, im using classes as they come, but with the master arts from those two classes, eunie’s the boss. Not only am i getting all the buffs from buffs but buffs from the rings making her an all in one!

This class legitemately gets stronger as you progress through the game mainly for power ring and it stacks with literally....everything
I mainly play healer because the AI is not so smart. It makes the fight easier when you can manage the heals yourself
I think there might be potential with mio on tank and the healer hero who gives mio tp, to potentially surpass ashera's chain attack potential. Ashera does make it really easy though, especially if you can maximize the tp gain on the characters you use in the first round.

The accessories page is a huge pain in the ass to scroll through, there doesnt seem to be any sorting option and its so hard to find accessories you want when the amount of accessories you have grow to astronomical amounts.
There is sorting actually. Hit minus and you can select by favorites, chronological order of obtaining alphabetical

Looking forward to this as well. With their respective base attack stats, I’m wondering if there’s a particular reason he runs Sena as Signifier and Eunie as dps. Not that I’ll be disappointed if it’s just a thematic choice, I love the flexibility in this game, but it’d be neat to learn that Eunie’s genuinely suited for dps classes.
@@amyyost7022 I’d imagine that’s as Sena can be easily reached from Noah to freeze invincibility. And Eunie unlocks FMJ first so would be the first to max it out and it’s just stayed that way.
Of course, in the grand scheme the stats don’t matter at all except on the base classes.

Where does the weapon upgrade quest start? Location/NPC
For me it started with samon after upgrading the boat in chapter 7 I think. Should be the dock area near the sword city, sorry I don't remember specific location names. I don't remember if there was any other criteria to get the quest to pop up.
However, you will have to engage a few side quests in order to complete it. For example 1 quest in the sea area requires riku and manana to discuss something at inlet camp, and this is the only way of meeting one of the nopons for weapon upgrades im pretty sure. I'm pretty sure there's at least 1 other sidequest you have to do as well but I'm not certain and can't remember which one it would be.

I can't wait for the Guardian Commander Guide, as That class seems garbage to me as It relies on your Non-tanks to be attacled for it to gain damage, only to aggro an enemy and Awaken. It's too much effort for it to pop off
It's great that they made healers necessary but I still can't help but be upset that the great field skills go virtually ignored by the AI. Also useless with DPS AI as well. Can't tell you how many times where my squad was all dispersed and not grouped up.
On a some what related note, it makes me desire online multiplayer more. It would be so fun to see the shenanigans to occur

Kinda random but do break/topple/daze etc count as debuffs? Wondering if the yumsmiths ability to lower debuff resistance would be useful to a driver combo focused build. Do the debuff focused gems do anything for driver combos either?

Something that isn’t immediately obvious is that there can be ONLY 3 fields active at a time. Setting a fourth field will cause the oldest field to “dissolute” and apply an AoE effect. If you’re spamming other field types then you’ll never get three MG fields, but you probably will have Attack Up buff if your Signifer hasn’t gotten around to it yet.
This is something that absolutely should have been included in the tips menu. I went on assuming that going over the limit meant you lost the oldest field early and nothing else.
Do you have to gather the party before chain attacks for the area buff? Or does it automatically apply to everyone like position arts automatically work?

Currently playing through NG blind on hard, I almost always find myself running 3 healers for every boss because otherwise I can't keep up with their damage output lol. And I'm only in chapter 5 still.
In first Xenoblade the Sharla always overheated in two we had crit heal but in three healers are the only ones who can revive others clearly the best healers have been

Does Resonant flag pass along field effect buffs? Cuz i can see it work decently well here as a master skill. Power Ring/Maximum Voltage/Ring of Roses transfer is kinda funny, wonder if that would be better than having Signifer main class.
I kind of wish there was an option to unequip party members, even if that results in the loss of ouroboros sorts and such. The solo challenges were kind of a cool thing to see.
Playable heroes would also be amazing IMO, I'd love to actually play as all these characters I've unlocked, especially since they tend to have unique animations and arts not available to the playable class versions. Being restricted to one hero is a bit disappointing too, though with how broken some of their chain attacks are, that'd absolutely break the game if replacing party members with heroes was introduced
