It's very impressive, but it is not right. In the area around The Strand there was a great deal of Regency infill that was gradually replaced by later and grander Victorian buildings. However, this process was not complete by 1868, the replacements continued until the 20-30s (and then WWII obviously, and a much more marked discontinuity in styles). These streets look more like Edinburgh's Princess Street. Parts are genuine, and must be based on photographs, but there is a lot too that is "interpolated". Fascinating, and beautiful nevertheless.

Oh yeah, scary old "diversity" is it? Big scary Muslims got you quaking in your boots have they? Or is it those spooky black people? Or maybe the Sikhs, or the Hindus. Or maybe it's the Eastern Europeans? Boy, they're all pretty scary! Coming over here with an accent... working in the NHS and paying taxes... Help help! This diversity is out of control!
