I just got it 2 days ago and I don’t live in a 5g area at all … i get 4g lte in the rural area I live in and it works super fast still … for gamers I suggest you hard wire it to get the best results … haven’t had any lagging issues…. It’s the best internet experience I’ve used in the country town I live in …. It really saved my life

I had it for a couple of years and it worked well. My big problem with it is that location services do not work. Because it runs off a cell signal, that signal can originate in a completely different state. Any "*** near me" search doesn't work, map sites dont work. It's truly frustrating.

Crazy is when I 1st got it I tried like 10 spots in my house looking for the best connection. Once I found that spot I was still only averaging around 100mb download speeds. I used one of the cell locater apps and saw there was a tmobile tower south of my. I kept My modem in the exact same spot and just turned it to face that tower and now I'm averaging 350mb download. My mine is blown that it went up that much by just turning it. I almost sent it back because i wasn't sure 100mb was going to be enough. But now I have been averaging 300-400mb download and has been pretty consistent. I'm happy

Funny T-Mobile is on their 3rd gateway in such a short period of time.
About 2 years ago i got their home internet with the silver trash can gateway and the first couple days were great at 100mbps or so. By the 4th day it could do no better than single digits up and down. Ended up cancelling and taking the gateway back.
I might be tempted to try again with this 3rd gateway but id need to put it near my network gear as i have my home wired with Ethernet. Can this new gateway be adapted for external antennas like the silver trash can could?

Not that I have this brand, but This is obvious and 2, they do tell you this, but yeah, you have to find it on their website. People that complain about these things, not knowing what to do, shouldn't get these then. I've heard stories from ppl that live in Rural areas right, always complain that either no signal or a very weak one. Well 1 I'll tell you its better to have the hardware higher up so 2nd floor 3rd floor and set at with no blockage, metal and so on except for a cloth to block sun from hitting it, at a window. Also find out your carriers nearest 5G tower, and what direction NW N NE E ESE S SW and W, and set the thing at the same facing to it so if tower is say North of you, then if you're able and have a North facing window otherwise use a NW or NE one. Very Simple.

@PittsburghPat but also rural. This is more geared to them, but yes same still applies to city dwellers too. Its funny cause the one mine uses with VZW, is nw of me and I'm lucky I'm facing that same direction for window and it's about 70 miles away from me. Speed in terms of DL and UL. Was slow at first but hardware does when it was first turned on does optimize when it first is turned on and used with a computer. Cause slowly over a max of 5 hours got faster and faster. So a form of optimization too is going on.

T-Mobile SUCKS, 3 PHONES 2 SIM CARDS in 6 months, having to contact customer service every day of internet that isn't there at all sometimes and throttled most days, missed video calls from my doctors at the VA. It's time to lawyer up and leave. They are worse than BOOST.

I mean you get what you pay for, fiber depending on your area you might just want fiber. It’s more expensive but these issues are expected with remote or satellite internet. If you keep having problems I’d say your best bet is to go to a Starbucks and use their WiFi for your more important stuff

I find it stange starlink has low ping
But phines all this stuff been around for years and yet gaming sucks for ping they must surly have away of giving stable ping
I dont care for upload or download ping is all gamers care for lol

@PittsburghPat I live in uk in a city on the south east coast and living in a house with 9 people 4 in which game fps
We can't all connect via hardwire so wireless Is it but when you in a game you notice the ping when in a fight so makes impossible it's very fast connection 15ms ping but when the box is over loaded it can be unbearable
I use mobile data and have tried everything like closing apps turning tracking apps off sensors and still it's unbearable lol 180+ ping I do a speed test it's telling me 25 ping 😅 this is a lie
My problem is why haven't they done something to help the needs of people who can't afford or not allowed to have Internet installed mobile device are allowed but for gamers it's just unbearable being put up against hardwired players lol I get all the tech side of wired over wireless but star link can do it using satellites but phones use towers but use GPS which would be a satellite it just baffles me. Why can't we use satellites for gaming side like GPS kinda like starlink

@@PittsburghPat To keep it short.. Talk to you as if your slow and stupid and try to bait me into a new phone, i had to repeat myself 3 times and show them i had a phone, then they said this phone is free and much better then the one you own! Even the camera is far better!
After we got 2 phone set up, and internet all for $130 a month.. We found out that the internet is slow, and even the phone never got a full bar, standing in the yard, while we have 3 cell towers all close by.. Even Cricket service was as the same or even better at times? What really sucks is the internet box! Many times i get on the computer and it be lagging or no internet!
We went in to return the black box and the guy, if he could have said in the tone i received.. Stupid you had of return it in 14 days after getting the internet? We could take it back! None of the i am very sorry about this, let me see if there is anything I could do to help you? No i got! You can't leave that with us! You going to have to dial 661? some number? on your phone to cancel !
I call the T people and they told me they would send me a label to send it back?? Right there is one reason to avoid this company! We are told if they don't get this box back within 30 days, they will charge us for it!
I leave you a video how they act and never fire the rude workers at their T Store.
