I've had this for over a year and a half and moved 3 times. 3 times? Don't ask! Anyway, I took this with me in different areas in the Metroplex of Dallas. There area I started off with had issues, but still was satisfied. The second area gave me a whopping on average of 120-250 mbps with at times up to 535 mbps. My current resident so far has given me between 80-200 mbps. Where I am getting at is that I have seen a lot of complaints about speed on a network that T-Moble working, maybe not hard, but working on improving. I am very happy with this service. Unlike the other providers like Verizon, T-Moble has the most coverage in The US. This service cut my internet and TV bill in more than half as I stream TH-camTV, the best alternative to cable that offers local channels and then some where you have to pay into the upper tier packages to watch certain channels. The luxury of this internet is not speed. Its saving money where eventually, speed wouldn't mean much to you unless you are the type that is running somewhat of a large scale business from home.
Well the most coverage doesn’t matter if you aren’t even getting 1 mbps. 3 days after we got T-mobile, the internet went to crap with speeds of less than one, even after calling them we were told 3 days ago that the “issue” would be resolved in 24 hours. We had 600+ speeds day one so I highly doubt it’s a problem with where we live or something. If it works for you, great, but there’s a reason that their customer reviews suck and it’s because they are terrible to their customers.
I absolutely love it. Im at $50 now waiting to get my $150 card in the mail and then switching over to the family account. Didn't realize we could get an addition discount on the family line.
I mostly use it for gaming and streaming movies. At my last place (in the city) it worked perfectly! Now that I’m a little further out from the city, it’s a hit on miss depending on the day. Love the price, wish I could keep it but it has definitely changed my gaming experience. Very laggy now
Hello. I saw you need to scan a QR-code in order to complete the installation of the router.
What happens if later someone at my house scans the code again? Will that disconnect the modem and we need to activate it again? Or it will already set up and it will just give access to the app and the modem's settings?
Thanks!
Did you find something that works a bit better? I know starlink has improved a bit as far as latency goes
You answer my questions thank you
Does pretty good compared to UScellular home internet UScellular has Xbox Teredo blocked couldn't connect xbox live with Tmobile 5G home internet finally able play xbox again 😊
Thanks for this.. When you said you have 45 devices connected I was sold!!! 🙂I too am tired of Spectrum/Optimum which is highway robbery. I just joined T-Mobile so thought I will try out the internet.. I'm just concerned about 3 gaming systems going on at once in my house..
Sooo, it's been 2 weeks since your comment. How is it working now in your home? My device comes tomorrow and I'm a bit anxious since I work from home and need stable connectivity. Not so much for gaming.
0 issues! we game and stream all day! best $50 monthly spent!
@@tweewin
@@tweewinhow did you like it ?
Hello! I just got it two days ago! It's running well for me! 550 to 640 mbps. (In a country where they don't haven't released it yet.) Got the latest model.
I saw that with the previous models, you could get the Data Stats (Usage) through the gateway IP. However, there is no such option on the new panel/menu.
Have you read whether or not it's possible to see those numbers with the new gateway model? Thanks!
After Tower Upgrades it's been good except from 4:30 to 6 pm I truly believe they will continue to improve.
Thank you for your review, sir. Was thinking of getting Tmobile. Got tired of ATT increasing prices excuses.
thanks for the port forwarding info, other videos dont mention this. no port forwarding is a killer for me. i really wanted to use this service
Thanks for sharing and for this review. I live in Florida, where we experience many thunderstorms in the summer. I had T-Mobile home internet one year ago and experienced terrible problems with the service during storms, and at other times. Can anyone tell me if the quality of service has improved in the last year? Thank you.
We had a massive rain storm last night and I was still pulling 250-300
I’m literally only getting 5mbps now that I moved from Dallas can’t do anything on the internet
Hi, what is the jitter? Is it possible to play cloud gaming on GeForce now?
Can you use a router separate from the gateway for wifi?
I got TMobile Home Internet December of 2022. West side of Kalamazoo, Michigan.
It was advertised as Gig service.
The first three months I got 745 Mbps download and 45 Mbps upload.
after that until present I get 258 Mbps download and 25 Mbps upload.
It is my belief that they are purposefully capping the speed.
that or more sign ups in you area so you have to share bandwidth
Throttle necking
How well is streaming from netfix.
anyone in St. Petersburg Florida does this work? It seems like all the services say sign up when it becomes available in you’re area?
I had one of the first old 4g only white T-Mobile home Internet routers and everything was fine then I finally called and requested a 5g router they sent one and I had to swap the SIM cards but T-Mobile didn't know this I found out on my own anyway after getting it going it was way faster than my old 4g router. I hooked up my wireless router but it kept disconnecting from the router so I just disconnected it everything was fine for a month then suddenly after a storm my router started dropping connection every 30min or so but at random times. I also only get three bars now and always had 4 before the storm. I'm not sure if it's my router or the tower at fault. Maybe this one doesn't go as far as the old white router. I need to call them just hate to because of the hold times.
Will it work with google extenders with an ethernet cable ?
Great review. Just ordered it. Since I currently have ADSL at 3Mbs down(yes only 3) I am thinking this will be an improvement!
Hope you enjoy it!
@@TheJabberTech Well I am now getting up to 200Mbs, yes this is amazing and a game changer for my situation, going from DSL.
Thanks for the review. I’m going to try this one out!
Nice!
I’m here because I’m interested in getting it wired internet is getting way too expensive for me and I’m looking for a more affordable option I don’t do gaming or streaming much so speed doesn’t matter I’m not on it every day I had to cut back on a few things I’m here because I want to see if it’s worth it and if there’s any fees I should worry about or is it a flat basic plan
Same!
I have a Verizon for my phone and I get good speeds. Once the UW is more out, it’ll be even better. I’m curious if tmobiles 5G is gonna as good in my area.
I live in a 5G UC area and I average 300 download and 30 upload. My latency stays anywhere from 40 to 60. If I'm streaming to twitch it jumps anywhere from 70 to 90 latency. Still love TMobile internet regardless. Has been far better than my other providers
How is it on games?
@@ZannkyOG If you have TMobile service in your phone do a speed test from your home while on your cell service. That will give you an idea of what your speeds and latency will look like with TMobile home internet. If you you're getting decent latency anything under 70 then yes its great for gaming online
Thanks for review, Jabber. It's available in my area and I'm thinking about getting it. But I'm concerned about security. Is it like WiFi at a coffee shop where everyone sees your traffic and you can get hacked? I haven't found much information on security.
Lol no! It's a private network just for you
@TheJabberTech Thanks for reply. I'm just use to wired connections and like a lot of people concerned about security we kinda see 5g networks like wifi, meaning hackable. Thanks again.
@@drizzy-us1oh you do have the option of using your own data (ethernet) cable to hook up to the device itself if you don't want to use wifi connection. They have the port in the back for that, just like any internet modem.
45 devices??? Lol
so the speed test is great, however, how many devices will it handle? Most of these type of home internet providers can handle at most 5 devices being on wifi before your speeds drop to below 100. I have over 10 devices using wifi and have never had a problem with my spectrum with 500 mbps.
Mentioned in the video. Have 60 devices
The modem in the top tier cell phones are considerably more advanced then the modems in he home internet towers.
Just curious what streaming service you use and is there any you wouldn't use with the T-Mobile service
Apple+, Netflix, Disney, prime video, max and paramount plus
Great review thanks
could i sue this with the eero pro 6 mesh system? Great video btw very informative!
Yep! Now that it's uplinked any where intercontinental of united stated by space x I'm going to get it
So far gaming is okay for me on it just got it today and it’s good so far it all depends on the signal from the towers in the area so if you’re in a more country environment may not work as well
Will it work with eero mesh system? And how about reolink security cameras? Thanks
Yes for both
@TheJabberTech ,do they have different systems? What is the new latest unit for home internet from tmobile?
Ping is too high for fps games. :( I guess i am stuck with cable for now.
How to do the speed test?
I’m buying this, may I ask something ?, I’m at the website and I have it on my cart already but it’s asking only for 50 dollar, does that include the device only ? Or does it come with a plan already? Thank you
it includes device and plan
So Blink works good?
Im looking into this as i just switched to them from verizon and their cell service is incredible! We mostly stream netflix and other platforms but i do play world of warcraft and would like to know if thats gonna be a bad choice with the home internet
It's mainly nat that an issue on T-Mobile
@@chriswright8074 Did those NAT issues ever get better Chris? Im lookin to give them a try and I game alot.
I have magenta max service but my phone does not have WiFi 6 would that make my 5g home internet slow?
No
Will I be able to use my Linksys AC1200 Dual Smart WiFi Router that I have had for years and works great on the T-mobile 5G internet or do I have to buy a different one? I am not a professional at this but want to get away from high price Comcast internet. Thank you for your advice. Great video
I'm confused, you just said it works great on TMobile...so why change it if it already works great
@@TheJabberTech No I meant it works great with comcast now. I am on a wait list to receive TMobile. Sorry for the confusion.
As a T-Mobile Home Internet user for more than a year and a half I have been very pleased.
Same
Is this connected using a coax cable? Or is it completely wireless?
5G is wireless
Got mine a few days ago.... surprisingly good performance... BUT... i had an odd issue... im at the edge of a good band so it randomly bounces between fatnastic internet and barely functional internet. randomly. Im getting a different router so I can add an external antenna since it consistently works great outside. lol.
Just ordered, we have a tower behind our house my only concern is the bill being more than expected for the first month
First month got me too but I think it's because it's really prepaid and not post paid
@@TheJabberTech do you know how much your first bill was?
Nope.
30 bucks
I paíd 30 in store for activation 1 month free I gotta pay 50 next month bc I do t have their phone service
So far it works well for the two of us.
It sucks. Every night after 9pm it stops working. It happens every night. Had to cancel and go back with spectrum
I have been getting 20 mbps and they even switched my device as of right now they are saying they are reparing the tower but they have been 6 momths like that
I don't think they have the 15-day trial anymore. I just started with it and got 1 month free. Happy so far bit can you do a video explaining how and why you would use a router?
I explained in this video why I use a router..you must have skipped around 😂
@TheJabberTech no I sorta got it. I think it's the same reason I need one. My wife's laptop is at the opposite end of the house and rhetoric app shows it at 2 bars. A router would help that? Just make the signal be stronger throughout the house?
Yep
Kinda late. But i just got the 15 day trial as of July 5
Yeah just got the trial today (August 1)
Hey, I’ve been using this for about 5 months now, and it’s been about 200 mbps on WiFi but when I plug the Ethernet in to my computer I get max 30mbps. Wondering if this has been a problem with you or if I just need another device.
My Ethernet devices get faster speeds than WiFi
@@TheJabberTech this has been a big issue for me overall, not sure what the problem is honestly. It’s like it’s throttled at 15 mbps and it won’t go over or under
Try a different router
@@TheJabberTech would you recommend another like router separate to the one they give me
I tried to connect TP router and it won't let me? The tower from TMO says to restart, error. How where you able to connect NP?
Yep,plugs right into an Ethernet port and that's it 💯
Would this be a good thing for rv'ing?
They say yes but I dunno
Have it in san diego, ca and service was great with waveform antenna for about 3 months about 120-300mbps but now im struggling to keep 30-50mbps… and tower is about 1 mile ming you visible too 😢
Here in Florida, it is a disaster !!!
Hello. I saw you need to scan a QR-code in order to complete the installation of the router.

TMobile has a new modem coming out and of August with 9 antennas (instead of the 4 now) and support for carrier aggregation...should make for better signal and speeds
@@TheJabberTech Nice! Do you have a link with more info?
Check out tmonews
I have it for over a year, but now speed has decreased where it lags big time. No good for gaming anymore!
What about hardwiring. Work from home requires I hardwire
I signed up for 15 day trial period and am trying it out and so far so good. I have a T-Mobile gateway connected to my own access point (AP) and it works like a charm, however, is there any way to turn wireless AP functions on the T-Mobile gateway off and just use it as a modem? Not sure if it improves performance but looking to avoid any potential interferences between two wireless AP that are close to each other.
There's a third party app that allows this..forgot the name but a Google search will bring it up for you
I believe it's called Hint Control.
It's a no go for me. I have t mobile and ran a speed test, got 7 mbps down, and 2 mbps up
I got Tmobile home internet unlimited data already used 100gb I'm glad I'm able play xbox again 😊
I love it and I have had it for about 3 months and it’s good I get 300 500 down
Thank you!
Any time!

That's just to setup admin password etc.
@@TheJabberTech But, scanning the qr-code after it was installed, will it cause the modem to get disconnected or no?
No

I switch to TMobile 5G Home Internet best choice I’ve made. I definitely hated Spectrum price hikes with no notice. That said, your really not grandfathered into Spectrum so you’ll end up paying a high bill in the end.
Gonna get Tmobile internet 5G home internet
Is there initiation fee if you do it yourself online?
I didn't pay a fee.
@@TheJabberTech thx applied for one, they shipping me one today!
Are their internet service worth the $50 a month?
If u get good speed,yes. 😆
Mines is very, very slow and not working rn, I can't play video game an movie online
I have had T Mobile Internet for about 4 months. I don't know why it doesn't work well, but I only get download speeds of less than 20 mbps. Is there something I could do to make this work better? Any advise would be appreciated.
Unfortunately it's not fast for everyone. Try putting as high up and by a window as you can
@@TheJabberTech Thanks for the advice. I found a new spot near the window closest to the direction of the tower. There was a shelf near to that, and I put it up there. The difference is unbelievable! I am getting 145 Mbps. now! It's the difference between night and day. I have had it by that window before, but until I put it up higher it never made a difference.

I’m thinking about trying it for sure
How strong is 5 gigs T Mobil Internet?
Strong like Bull
I’m tired of ATT routers disconnecting and resetting it. We want to switch to T-Mobile cause we have An account with them.

Is there a way to boost the signal strength?
Yes, add waveform antennas
@@TheJabberTech do you have a link for me I'll be very grateful.
Nope. Google it
I'm ready to dump Spectrum, rates are getting out of control. I have T-mobile mobile service and tested the speed at 82 Mbps dl and 22 Mbps ul, so I'm guessing by what you said, T-mobile home internet will be a bit slower than that. Just for streaming and internet services, will that work for me on 3 tv's? 🤨
Scratch speed test results above, had forgotten that my phone was linked to my Spectrum router. T-mobile's speed was more depressing than the above, 55 Mbps DL and 0.25 Mbps UL. 😳
55 down will be tough for 3 tvs (if all 4k)
You probably live in a big city. In smaller cities like here, 5G is absolutely horrid. Sometimes we're lucky a webpage can even load. Even 56K dialup was more reliable. I'm not exaggerating. But when it's decent, we're lucky to get 20 mbps down, 4 up. I've moved the unit in multiple locations since T-Mobile has a habit of changing their signals around.
I've noticed speeds get much worse at 4pm, which is after school for kids and teens.
For the first 6 months (give or take), it was amazing. Around 30 down, 40 up! To me, that's amazing speed. So I'm very sure T-Mobile switches new customers off after half a year or so from their best towers, because it's been almost a year now that we've been dealing with such a horrible experience.
Our other only option for internet is AT&T, which is only 15 down, 1 up. For our needs, it's not enough, so we have both. Both ISPs suck. Wish we could get Spectrum or some other cable provider.
Yup, NYC
its not unlimited sais right in the print throttling after 1.2 t
Would still be unlimited, just throttled after 1.2 terabytes
I don't know about others but I'm most interested in the LOWEST speeds that you've gotten. This is home internet. If it sometimes throttles down to the point where I can't watch movies reliably then that's a deal killer.
Probably mentioned in video
Use an Ethernet cable to test true speeds
Cut the cable... I'm saving money and that's all I care about
must be nice in new york... those speeds?!! in ca.. tmobile is like half that on an great sunny clear day.. smh
Highly depends on area. Loving my speeds, been a year since i ditched spectrum
Hi l order T-Mobile internet my modem shows 3line signal when l watching Netflix sometimes Lou ding do you think l kep it or no
don't know what you are saying, sorry!
Hello there! T Mobile has changed my life In Poland.. I have Unlimited data but speed is limited to 90. Gonna change to this 5G home Internet with unlimited speed and data. My ISP provider is utter sh**t and I wend LTE. It changed my life like 180 degrees. I can Upload large 4K files on my YT channel, stream and play games at the same time. Kuddos to them!
I pay $80 a month for 1gb fiber internet.
Ok. Even on the Unlimited version of this thing, it's EXTREMELY hit or miss. Cause your phone can have perfect 5GUC connection, max bars. And even if their map/data/specs tell them that where you live, the Home Internet Modem could get the same type of connection, be well aware they said "could" not "would" or "will" so in more rural areas? Sorry, stick to Spectrum, Inifinity, etc. Whoever your primary internet provider in that area is. Because in more rural areas, no BS, you'll get MAYBE 30-40 Mbps, 50 on a good day. But on average? 10-15 Mbps. These "modems" T-Mobile put out, work better in major cities....where there's a cellphone tower every ten feet. I'm talking from personal experience, and I returned the device. So yeah, be insanely careful.
I'm only getting 7.4 mpbs sucks
Drop it like a bad habit if it ever caps your usage
No doubt
Not good for gaming, had steady 80-120 ms ping when i had it. Very laggy

Should god poof us out of existence or kill us off painfully? And why ?
@@YungRxd well first of all I’ll just answer both, because God is all knowing. He is the creator of the universe. If he just wants to poof us out of existence then that’s his will. And if he wants to kill us off painfully then that’s his will, but the pain we experience here on earth is mercy compared to an eternity in hell. He sent his Son to die on the cross for our sins. And personally even though I’m saved. I still deserve death for the things I’ve done, and I will experience a physically death. But he sent his Son to die for my soul.
Did you see him?
