I wish I had had Crochet You when my child was a child. As she went through her therapies and surgeries, it would have been nice to have made this doll. As it was, we adapted a commerical doll that had her issues. It worked, but the crochet one would have been more personal.
Elise, I just got into Crocheting and I am so thankful for your channel! I’m a lawyer by day and finding crochet has been such a joy for me, because it helps me to unwind and “zone out.” My eldest leaves for college this fall and I want to make him a blanket with the college logo on it. I hope I am good enough by then! 😂 Thank you again! ❤
As a non-native speaker of English, I am now smugly congratulating myself on noticing that the first syllable of "chimera" should actually sound like "K + eye". Yes, I'm absolutely insufferable and will see myself out. The books are beautiful and I love your videos.
Kitsune as well but I find it adorable the way Elise pronounced it and also it’s a Japanese word. I’m constantly learning new words in other languages when trying new cooking recipes.
I have several of these books already! 'Crochet Me' is rapidly becoming my favorite. I just made a doll for a 22 yr old young lady that lost her leg in a car accident. I'll give it to her this weekend. I hope she loves it. I made a "Pat" doll. Generic clothes and curly hair. The child can decide if Pat is a girl or a boy simply by having mom add a bow or barrette.
What a great video! I’ll be picking up a couple of these! And actually, when you were flipping through Crochet You and said there was a doll with hearing aids, I immediately paused the video and ordered it off Amazon! My 7 year daughter has had hearing aids for the past couple years. And I also work for a non profit here in Canada for kiddos with all types of disabilities! I see many of the kids represented in this book! It’s amazing! Thank you for adding this book to your list! 😊
That Burberry the sheep from Amigurumi Treasures takes approximately forever to do, but he sure turns out cute! She has a neat chart that shows what accessories fit which animals - very handy. I’ve made several in the book.
I own enough amigurumi books to have patterns for a lifetime--or two--but as soon as I saw your review of Crochet Impkins I realized I "needed" it; soooo cute! Thanks for another great video 🧡
Omg I so look forward to your videos because u bring a sparkles of happiness and excitement every time without fail. ✨️😁 I must say I have never tried Amigarumi still because it seems too advanced for me but I love how u made Charlie the Platypus❤ not only because he is gorgeous but I'm Australian and my eldest son has been obsessed with Platypus since he was tiny. He is Autistic and has always loved how Platypus were weird and different, just like him and he is in his 30's now and he will still tell u a Platypus is his favourite animal in the entire world.💗🙏 🇦🇺🧶
OMG, I I have a couple of these books and can't wait to finish the 8 WIP's I already have going to start some. I have been checking books out of the library to see which books I want to purchase. I fell in love with the Dress Up Amigurumi and had to buy it. I also purchased the Enchanted Woodland Amigurumi and Amigurumi Treasures 2. I just ordered the Crochet Impkins. I haven't been able to find it at the library and I am so thankful you showed this book. I actually have the Crochet Furry Friends checked out right now. Thank you for this video. Love your content.
I'm loving and marathoning your channel. I started learning crochet with my grandmother, but unfortunately she passed away before I could learn enough, and none of her daughters learned from her, they were never interested. I ended up stopping because I didn't have anyone to teach me, then I was too busy with med school and life in general... With the pandemic I was feeling stressed and overwhelmed and I started “learning” with tutorials on TH-cam and I fell in love with crochet and felt closer to my grandmother… I moved countries, came to Ireland and started my life over from scratch here, and now I'm in love with amigurumi, I want to buy everything and try everything, it's so beautiful... unfortunately I have difficulty finding yarn here, because it's not the same brands as in my country and there isn't a haberdashery on every corner like I'm used to, so I have to buy little by little online and test the yarns until I find the ideal one. Thank you for your videos 😊
That is so wonderful that you're able to feel closer to your grandmother with crocheting! 🧶 I've always heard you can get high quality wool in Ireland!🇮🇪 thank you so much for sharing your crochet journey! 🐑
❤ Crochet You. Brought this book last year and have made one basic doll so far. The patterns are easy to follow and fun. I donate toys to children in need and this book allows me to make dolls that reflects all the children out there. Strongly recommend it
Thank you so much for introducing me to the Crochet You book! My grandson has Level 5 Cerebral Palsy and as an avid crocheter I am always excited when I find a pattern that includes aspects of his life. I immediately ordered a copy and can't wait to receive it. God bless.
Great tutorial. So many adorable items to choose from. It is amazing the talent these creators possess. Each one has their own style and unique individuality. Thank you Elise for sharing these books with us. Blessings
Oh how I love your channel!! I really love the book on using the fur and the crochet you book is amazing. You are wonderful and so full of talent. I love all the information you share and how uplifting you are to others. Thank you so much for being you!!
I love 🧶. My mum taught me 30 plus years ago. I’m now in my 50s amd my mum has been gone since 1999. So crochet 🧶 is special to me.🇦🇺🧶💜Western Australia 🇦🇺
I don't do amigurumi, but I love listening to you and your excitement about it. I do get ideas from you for my crocheted baby blankets. Right now I am making lap covers for people at the nursing home. I may also start making simple crocheted hats to match the lap covers.
I bought the Knitting Peter Rabbit...haven't made anything yet, but it is a gorgeous book!! I made Clare Garland's beginner bunny and even crocheted a little sweater for him! Elise, I love your channel. Your videos and story telling is superb. As a newer knitter and crocheter, you inspire to keep at it and I love making toys b/c they seem projects I can finish easier than say a blanket. Thanks for what you do!!
Thanks for a great book review. Love all your comments on each one. I want the Crochet You book as I am a physical therapist and find it so dear that the designer has chosen to prioritize these special children. ♥
Awww! That really is the perfect book for you!! I have so many fond memories of my son's physical therapists over the years, especially when he was young! ❤️
I received Amigurumi Treasures and starting Ming the Kitten. Just to try out the yarn used DMC Natura Just Cotton I thought I would do an early review of the yarn, if you haven’t tried this brand yet. It is soft on the hands and slides over the hook nicely. It does have a tendency to split but, to my surprise, it didn’t bother me yet!. It has good stitch definition. Let me know if you have tried this yarn and what do you think about it. Love the colors. What yarn would you use for these adorable patterns? 🧶
This is such an interesting channel for all of us... you've found a way to entertain those of us that are "veterans" as well as the "newbies"... keep up the great work! PS... careful with the tiny hooks and thread... they are not "good for the hands"... Hugs, GrammaBabs
These all look like wonderful books! Definitely going to have to buy them and try them out, especially the Crochet You one. I know someone who has lost a leg and it would probably make his day to have a doll modeled after him!
I normally try to stay away from crocheting books because I always end up having 3-4 of them that I buy, don't find the time to start a new project, and end up getting a new one but I might have to splurge and get the Unicorns, Dragons, and More Fantasy book 😱That Kitsune pattern and the Kaken are SO CUTE !!
Love your review. I love crochet you book. I thought it was a wonderful way to represent an under represented group. I'm going to check out a couple of others you suggested as well.
oh my goodness!!! if it wasn’t for you, I wouldn’t even know where to start with amigurumi. 🥰I have to say one of the best things that ever crocheted that was from you was Mr. pencil. I homeschool my daughter and let me tell you she carries Mr. pencil. Everywhere. We love love bunnies and every. Bunny that you crochet. Is absolutely adorable. Please continue making amazing videos. And that Peter rabbit crochet book. Oh my goodness have already ordered it and I’ve already put it in my calendar crochet. Book Thanks to you. ❤
Wow love those books. I have a few of them already. I haven’t tried knitting Amigurumi yet. I know how to knit. Mostly I knit socks and scarves. I think I need to try to knit something in Amigurumi. Thanks for sharing. Hugs to you and your family
Oh wow thank you for showing all these great books. I have gotten into amigurumi in the fall and absolutely love it. I just finished a raffle basket for my son’s upcoming “Racing Party 2024”. Proceeds will go to help him out during the year. there is a 15.5” bunny, a set of tier tray deco for Easter (a peeps and a carrot with safety eyes, Easter basket with 3 micro), two large life size eggs and finally ya can’t go to the races without your snack money, so I Crocheted a black and white money pouch with a racing flag button. Finally I will be making a big removal bow that will be for a wreath. Have a blessed day Elise.
I have watched this video for the second time and I must have missed the end. The first amigurumi I made was from the Polshuka Bunny, I made Kitty and that is what got me hooked on amigurumi. It came out beautiful, love her work.
Hi Elise! I remember you doing a video on how people had tips for crocheting, and one was to use either a half size bigger hook to a full size bigger hook when starting a blanket. Well, I just discovered that that technique also works when starting amigurumi projects as well. It doesn’t change the size of your projects, it just makes it easier getting the size hook you need to use for your project into that first stitch, for that stitch can be a bit tricky to get your hook into. Just an idea 💡 😊!
I Love your books... I have been watching you for a while, and I have to say... I learn a lot. Crochet Impkins is taking a moment as there are so many choices,
I am in love with your work! I learned knitting as an adult. I taught myself from books. I thought I could not crochet, or shouldn't I did a wooble in November and now I just can't go fast enough yet....
I love the platapuse--so cute!! Thank you for the great book review, I have several I will be saving up for. I did enter the contest because to win would be wonderful. What a lovely thing to do. Take care.. sending love, hugs, prayers.
I must ask where you found the digital knitting rooms that have inspired me ever since the 10 Mindless Projects episode. I keep going back to look at them. Thank you!!!
Thank you! I created them in AI, but I won't be doing that again because several people shared how problematic that is. But I thought they were pretty too! 🧶🧶🧶
Hi Elise and right now I am working on my cottage core mosaic blanket and granny squares blanket and butterfly mosaic blanket and my somebunny and I love your channel and your videos and if you keep making videos I will keep watching them and what is your favorite crochet project to work on right now and favorite types of yarn to used when crocheting and keep up the great work on your TH-cam channel and keep up the great work on your crochet projects
I have the Impkins and Megan’s Mythical creature books. I made a phoenix and plan to make many more. I also have the Crochet You book and plan to make special donation kids for patients at Gillette Hospital where my son gets his specialty care in St. Paul MN. I LOVE how unique these dolls can get!!!
Thanks to your channel I’ve been able to learn how to crochet! My latest project was a super large turtle made using Hobby Lobby’s Eternal Bliss yarn (the turtle is bigger than my mini dachshund!) All these books look so interesting, I feel like I’m going to end up spending all my money on crochet stuff!
Hi Elise, a great review indeed! I have crocheted polushkabunny's tiger...and I love the Claire Garland book 😍. Definitely want to try to knit these toys
Hi Elise! These are beautiful books. I don't knit, wellll, nothing more than a square lol but those books are just beautiful. Love the reviews. I just purchased your not so little pigs pattern from Etsy, just waiting on my hands a wrists to hopefully start feeling better soon. I'm being optimistic...Lord willing. Thank you again.
I think I need to watch your early videos so I can learn. I crochet but I need to learn so much. Love the videos you do. I learned a lot about crochet hooks. Thanks
I always feel like I have such great taste in books when some of your stack is already on my shelf - missing a few though. :) Thanks for such great overviews of what to expect in the books!
I get really excited when I see so many cute toys🤩 I have a polushka bunny crochet book that I have in the queue to make this year. I still am not up to the skill level for dot pebbles knit patterns but I think they are so cute 🥰 thanks for another great video and have a great weekend…. Karen from Greenleaf, Idaho 🧶☺️
Great video! Claire Garland is probably my all-time favorite! I bought the Beatrix Potter book about a month ago and ordered all the yarn to make all the characters! I’m currently working on another one of her patterns, the little 🐸 I think I’d like to try the micro knitting! So many cute patterns, so little time ❤
OMGosh More books to buy! I had to keep glancing at my books to see what I already had lol, not to many that you listed unfortunately. But WOW, what a awesome new book collection! Even though I am just starting to relearn to knit I want all the knit books, they all really caught my eye especially Peter Rabbit. And the book with all the different special children I am blown away by, I am so glad that so many designers are starting to design for all types of people. But what a wonderful way to show a child, that they have a doll just like them, or even a special friend! Thank you as always for your great information!
Just got finished watching your LIVE on We Crochet and you did so great 😊 and I absolutely hate when I loose my stitch markers while making a pattern, nothing more horrible when you spend days a week on making something and to find a lost stitch marker and then you have to just take it all apart. The light bulb stitch markers was a great recommendation thank you. ❤
Hi, Elise! I love Peter Rabbit and had to buy that knitting book! Though, I'm quite intimidated by it. Like any mochi- mochi (knitted toy) books, but I keep buying them in hopes to make them someday. 😊 I just recently found the other knitted books on Amazon and immediately put them on my Wish List! Thanks for sharing this video!!
Lovely video. Beautiful books that I will make every effort to avoid, as I have been decluttering my condo. SO tempting, though! I want my daughter to have few things to go through, because I will have gone through them, myself. At 81, I recognize that I will not complete my already long list of projects, so choosing more would stress me out. I can dream, though!🥰
I have sooo many WIPS right now and all of them are going to take a while. I just grabbed my Kawaii crochet book for a fast project so I can feel some sense of accomplishment cause I need a win lol! Mini pumpkin here I come!
What great books. Your work is beautiful ❤️ the books are great love peter rabbit 🐇. I have never made any. What us a great beginner project? Thank you 😊
Most of these projects are better for intermediate crocheters. But you'll find lots of great beginner amigurumi tutorials on TH-cam and I have a few on my channel! 🧶❤️📚

Hi, Lisa! I’m a Nurse, too and I live for Elise’s posts. So excited that there is a new one. Watching it now!
Awwwww! Thank you, Lisa!! 🤣☕️📚❤️🧶
Thank you so much! ☺️
A couple of hours later than you. But I am here for it with 3rd cup a coffee in hand!😊 AND I’m a nurse too!!!
I wish I had had Crochet You when my child was a child. As she went through her therapies and surgeries, it would have been nice to have made this doll. As it was, we adapted a commerical doll that had her issues. It worked, but the crochet one would have been more personal.
Yes! It's such a wonderful way for a child to see themselves in a doll! I think my son would have enjoyed it too when he was little! 📚❤️🧶
Came here to say this. I remember how excited my kiddo was to get a stuffed animal with hearing aids.
You can do it!! It's nice to have a relaxing outlet and I'm sure you need it after such a demanding day job! 🧶🧶🧶
As a non-native speaker of English, I am now smugly congratulating myself on noticing that the first syllable of "chimera" should actually sound like "K + eye". Yes, I'm absolutely insufferable and will see myself out. The books are beautiful and I love your videos.
Lol!! Thank you for the correction! ❤️
Kitsune as well but I find it adorable the way Elise pronounced it and also it’s a Japanese word. I’m constantly learning new words in other languages when trying new cooking recipes.
I love your book reviews Elise! This was a great one. All those books look amazing!
Thank you so much!! These are such great amigurumi books! 🧶🐭📚❤️
Charlie the platypus is adorable!😍😍
I know!!! I'm so in love with that pattern! 🧶❤️📚
Is that hook husband's-machinery-approved smooth? 😋
CHONKY HEDGEHOG!!!!!!! I might have to buy that book!!!
I'm going to have my husband test it soon (plus a bunch of other crochet hooks)! And those Chonky toys are soooooo cute!! 🦔
i was thinking the same thing XD
LOL, that was my first thought too!
Love it!!! It's such a wonderful book! 📚
I love the Unicorn, Dragons and more and dress up amigurumi. I’m crocheting Ray the Elephant now. I made Christmas presents from the Unicorn books.
How fun!!!! 🧶❤️📚
I made Daisy the pig and she is adorable. I also made the dragon out of the same book, but have to sew him together. Thats a great book
So many cute patterns! 🧶🧶🧶
Oh that's wonderful!!!! It will be perfect for you!! 🧶❤️📚
That Burberry the sheep from Amigurumi Treasures takes approximately forever to do, but he sure turns out cute! She has a neat chart that shows what accessories fit which animals - very handy. I’ve made several in the book.
Awwww! I love that one!! I can see why it took so long! 🐑
I own enough amigurumi books to have patterns for a lifetime--or two--but as soon as I saw your review of Crochet Impkins I realized I "needed" it; soooo cute! Thanks for another great video 🧡
That one is so unique!! 🧶❤️📚
I'm so glad you found the Impkins book. My daughter and I just love making new creatures from it.
It's such a fun book!! 🧶❤️📚
Oh Lord, I play June's Journey! The story is adorable.
Isn't it??? It's such a fun game! ❤️❤️❤️
@@EliseRoseCrochet Yes! I play for more than 2 years.
How I wish I could knit! The Beatrix Potter knit characters are precious ✨
They really are!!! 🐰🐰🐰

Thank you, Samantha! Your projects sound so lovely! I'm working on a new amigurumi design and a granny rectangle blanket! ❤️🧶📚
Alice , I love all these books you showed us , but my favorite is the one with the adorable mice 🥰🥰
That one is so beautiful!!!! 🐭🐭🐭
great book review Elise
Thanks so much! 📚❤️🧶
Omg! What great crochet and knitting books. I crochet but would love to agusto knit, maybe I'll start with socks first though, lol! Love your videos!
Thanks so much! 🧶❤️📚
Made the swan then mom wanted one so I made two. Yes I love Erin lee’s book 😊
I love that pattern!!! 🦢🦢
The book for children of all kinds is really heartwarming.
I agree! 🧶🧶🧶
Awww! That's wonderful!! 🧶❤️📚
These books look great. Thank you for sharing
Glad you like them! 📚❤️🧶
Oh how fun!!!! 🐢
Hi Elise, a great review indeed!
I have crocheted polushkabunny's tiger...and I love the Claire Garland book 😍. Definitely want to try to knit these toys
Wonderful! They are such lovely patterns! 📚❤️🧶
All those books look amazing! Thanks for another great video
Thanks for watching! 🧶❤️📚
Those books are some really good ones! I never knew those were out there, I guess I should pay better attention..TFS!!!
Glad you enjoyed them! 🧶❤️📚
Thank you so much!! I hope your wrists feel better soon! 🐷🐷🐷
I think I need to watch your early videos so I can learn. I crochet but I need to learn so much. Love the videos you do. I learned a lot about crochet hooks. Thanks
We all start as a beginner! I promise you'll get there, sooner than you think! 🧶❤️📚
I love so many of these pattern designs! Thank you for sharing all of these.
You are so welcome! 📚❤️🧶
Wow, these are so Adorable!❤ I needed some inspiration, and now I do! Thank you
I'm so glad!! 📚❤️🐭🧶
I always feel like I have such great taste in books when some of your stack is already on my shelf - missing a few though. :) Thanks for such great overviews of what to expect in the books!
I'm so glad you enjoyed the review!! And they really are such great books! 🧶❤️📚
Love the idea behind Crochet You.
Me too! 🧶❤️📚
Thank you, Karen!! The Polushka Bunny patterns are sooooo cute!!! 🧶❤️📚
Great video! Claire Garland is probably my all-time favorite! I bought the Beatrix Potter book about a month ago and ordered all the yarn to make all the characters! I’m currently working on another one of her patterns, the little 🐸 I think I’d like to try the micro knitting! So many cute patterns, so little time ❤
Such a beautiful book!! Would love to make all the patterns!! 🐰❤️🧶📚
Yes!! It really is such a special book! It's wonderful to see all the different designs! 🧶❤️📚
@@EliseRoseCrochet I agree, I have it already on my next buy cart😁
Just got finished watching your LIVE on We Crochet and you did so great 😊 and I absolutely hate when I loose my stitch markers while making a pattern, nothing more horrible when you spend days a week on making something and to find a lost stitch marker and then you have to just take it all apart. The light bulb stitch markers was a great recommendation thank you. ❤
Thank you so much!!! I was sooooo nervous!! 🧶🧶🧶
@@EliseRoseCrochet I would be too 😊 I get nervous sometimes when I start recording tutorials especially if I'm in front of the camera talking lol.
You're so welcome! The Peter Rabbit book is truly special! 🐰🐰🐰
Omg, the crocheted AFO 😍 I work with orthosis and children and absolutely need to make a doll with AFO's to have in my clinic room❤
Right!?!?! I have never seen a crocheted AFO before and I had to show it to my son! He was not impressed! 🤣🤣🤣
Awesome video and so inspiring to increase my book library!
I'm so glad you enjoyed the books! 📚❤️🧶
You inspire me to take on more detailed amigurumi patterns
Great review video!

Thanks for the new book recommendations!
You're so welcome! 🧶❤️📚
Going to have to pick up one or 2 of rhese books asap!!
They are great books! 📚🧶❤️
Thank you, Nettonya! I don't blame you for avoiding these books!! Too many cute patterns!! 🧶❤️📚☺️
That furry friends book is ADORABLE. My mom would LOVE that little unicorn! And I already want to make...the whole book LOL 😂
They are adorable patterns!!! 🧶❤️📚
@@EliseRoseCrochet they really are!
I love this video Elise!! 🤍 Charlie the platypus is so adorable 🥰
Thank you!! 🧶❤️📚
I wish the Beatrix Potter book was for crochet 😩. I absolutely LOVED those books as a child. I even named my cat Nutkin and my hamster Hunka Munka. 😂
Awwww! So sweet! I wonder if there is a crocheted version?!! 🧶🧶🧶
I have sooo many WIPS right now and all of them are going to take a while. I just grabbed my Kawaii crochet book for a fast project so I can feel some sense of accomplishment cause I need a win lol! Mini pumpkin here I come!
That's wonderful!! It really does feel good to get a project done! 🧶❤️📚
Have a couple of these, have most on my wish list!! Love love love Erinna Lin

Most of these projects are better for intermediate crocheters. But you'll find lots of great beginner amigurumi tutorials on TH-cam and I have a few on my channel! 🧶❤️📚

I have cerebral palsy as well and that’s an amazing crochet piece
