    For people who work/live in rural areas, HTP is awesome, because they can support you over the phone and mail you out whatever you need. In fact, I order my Lincoln stuff from them too, because it saves me the aggravation of dealing with Lincoln who only wants to talk with dealers who sell 100s of machines or with full-blown celebrities like Diresta. I have two HTP lunch box stick welders that are discontinued now and their 211 TIG machine with dual voltage. They've been awesome machines! I chose them mainly because HTP could support me remotely over the phone. The big name dealerships in my area sadly don't know anything about their products and can't help you with anything and hardly have any stock. Might be different in a big city, but I'm in the boonies.

      Good to hear you like your htp machines …. Even living in the big city …. Getting my miller repaired is about 3 weeks IF the part is available …. Htp is much faster than that.

      @@ZILAwelds It used to be the dealers would employ retired or soon to be retired welders that could understand exactly what you're dealing with in the field and were a resource in themselves. But nowadays at the distributors there's people selling Millers and Lincolns that have zero experience welding and have no idea how to provide service. Sad!
      Lastly, one cool thing about HTP, I love to use the pulse stick welding feature around the other tradesmen. It's a great conversation starter. They basically trip-out, because it's not a common process found, even on other machines costing tons more!

      @@Waiakalulu1 pulse stick was really invented for "citoflex" rods (Europes version of 6010) and in the pipeline industry ..... invented in 2005 adopted in 2009 by other companies also and from 2011 on there are real procedures for pipe in pulse stick in Europe .... here I mainly use it for bridging big gaps, or welding hard to weld or "in flat position only" hard surfacing rods (even out of position ..... you should run some 7024 vertical up .... LOL. why ? because you can ! LOL. that machine is so outstandingly awesome ..... and did you know your 221 tig can also pulse stick weld ???? I had mine for 8 years before I found out it could pulse stick weld ..... and it can do that in DC and AC .... with adjustable frequency and balance ..... all you have to do is unplug the foot pedal .... the arc force and hot start are factory pre programmed on the 221 .. but the arc dynamic is very close to the little stick welder ... !
      as far as the sales people ... that is the new thing ... no one know stuff anymore ... at the hardware store, the welding store even at car dealerships ..... no gear heads, no passion no doers .... just people paid by the hour for physical presence ... and they dont have a lick of a clue what they are talking about ... hey at least at HTP you have Cameron, the technician he has a 221 and welds stuff himself after work, on the side ... you have Heather, who worked in the field and had state certs and knows what she is doing 4+ years of hands on full-time welding ... and occasionally you have myself helping people out ...

      HTP (and the European manufacturer Stel) have a good board and parts availability policy, and HTP will help you diagnose. You can see it in their manuals, which have diagrams showing the specific boards and parts. I've heard too many reports about major brands with limited life boards that cost the better part of $2000. Maybe the reason HTP can provide such good diagnosis/repair help is that they don't have to do it very often. Their machines just don't seem to have the patterns of common problems I've read about with both the major brands and Asian imports.

    I purchased the Invertig 301 as soon as it was available . My Invertig 221 is what convinced me . The craftsmanship put into these machines is nothing less than perfection. You need to try one and you will know what I'm talking about. I can not find any project that can't be handled easily by this machine. Its not just the power, any brand can have that. Its the smooth control and the ability to fine tune to any situation. Built in Italy just like Alfa Romeo, Ferrari , Lamborghini, Maserati. Get the picture? You will not get the level of service with any other brand that USA Weld / HTP provides.

    Hopefully the new owner of HTP is easier to deal with. I was going to buy two welders from them 1-1/2 years ago and Jeff Noland was very unreasonable so I ended up buying a Lincoln and a Everlast.

      @@Mikael5732. I was going to buy two welders from him at almost $5K. He said if I make him 5 videos with the welders he will give me a $100 discount. It takes a long time to make these videos, these companies make a lot off of them. Most companies will give you a 20 percent discount for that.

    Bob makes a good comment regarding the circuit boards.
    The issue is not the circuit boards the issue as Bob says is knowing how to repair them.
    If you know where to find them electronics repair guys are out there.

    • @ZILAwelds

      all these boards are IP23 .. lacquer coated ... in reality no one repairs them ... life span on something like this is 12-15 years .... new machines (miller, htp, fronius, Lincoln ... is not 35+ years anymore like the old transformer machines ... the miller rep at the seminar I attended in 2019 said - they new machines are build with a 10 year lifespan tops in mind .... and if a board breaks the good thing about the HTP machines. - boards are AVAILABLE and REASONABLE unlike other companies ... in reality no one will fix that board if you can buy a new one for 2-500 dollar and be back in business the next day .... if you send your old board in somewhere I have no idea what I will cost you ... but you will be down for days for weeks and that aline will cost you more than just replacing that board ....

    • @WilliamPayneNZ
      @WilliamPayneNZ ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ZILAwelds not all are ip23, I don’t know about the Miller dynasty 400 and 800 but the 350 wasn’t as I got to see inside one one time. Miller boards are much more than 2-500 dollars to replace a board much much more. As far as inverters go if it was a mission critical machine I would only buy brand new. If you are a business you should have equipment breakdown as part of your insurance policy.

      @ZILAwelds ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@WilliamPayneNZ I am sorry, I meant to say all HTP machines are IP23 and at the "low prices" and "high effort" most likely not "worth" fixing .... HTP machines have a very modular design, it is very easy to replace individual boards, they are not like your "Standard import design" everything on one pcb and when that is bad you through the entire machine away ... they are build with serviceability in mind !

      Torches and stuff are assembled there, but the machines are Italian made from parts that could be european for the important stuff, to asian (with effort put into QC) for less important parts.
