@@michaelgiaquinto3092 While the overall storyline had its merits, there were some notable issues at least for me. One key factor contributing to this lukewarm response was the excessive number of characters sharing screen time, which detracted from the central focus on Blade and his mentor. With the introduction of Jessica Biel, Ryan Reynolds in the ensemble and a entire team, the spotlight was spread thin, leaving Blade and Kris with insufficient on-screen presence. This led to a noteworthy situation where Wesley and Kris, who had developed a genuine friendship during production, publicly expressed their dissatisfaction with the film's direction due to the lack of attention their characters received. Wesley, in particular, voiced his concern about the disproportionate screen time given to Ryan Reynolds, ultimately sparking a feud between the actors. Their dispute became so contentious that they refused to communicate directly and instead resorted to passing messages through the director. It wasn't until a disagreement arose between Blade and the director that all communication ceased. Wesley boldly asserted his self-sufficiency, and the director reciprocated the sentiment, resulting in a complete cessation of communication between the two. This is the reason Ryan Reynolds doesn't want to do a Blade 4 and from I have seen of Ryan he gets on with everybody. Apart from Blade and his mentor not having enough screen time another issue I had a problem with was Kris's character's decision to keep his daughter a secret from Blade, which seemed stupid given their father-son-like bond. Especially considering that the daughter was actively raised in the same life Blade led, with occasional assistance from Kris, it raised questions about the rationale behind concealing her existence from Blade. It is one thing to keep her a secret if she was living a normal life (although I don't agree with that because Blade should be told) but it is another to raise in the life and not tell Blade.

This text contains spoilers for the film Wolverine and Deadpool................................ I love the Blade series. Words cannot describe how impressed I was when I saw Blade in the cinema for the first time. It was the perfect vampire film. I didn't know the comics at all and I've never heard Wesley Snipes speak in the film. I only know the German dubbing voice of Torsten Michealis, who dubs Snipes superbly. I only came across this video because I was wondering where Blade's sword and coat were. I could live with everything else, but I didn't understand why they didn't give him his coat and especially his sword. As I found out in another post, his sword was destroyed in Blade 3 - Trinity. I've completely forgotten that and wanted to look it up again :-))) And now I'm here. I think Blade 1 and 2 are outstanding. Part 3 is ok, but not as good as 1 and 2. I would love to see a 4th Blade movie before Blade shows up again in Secret Invasion.
I will forever love this movie. Saw it the opening weekend with a few friends, and we were so hyped walking out of it. The theater was packed too, which was rare for a comic book movie back then.
It's a very short list of actors who played their characters so well that they in turn permanently changed the characters they played for the better, and left everyone feeling like no one could ever replace them at the role. But Wesley Snipes playing Blade, is definitely on that list.
Still the best MCU movie, and the best cinematic character intro ever. I still pull out the "You better wake up..." speech when people aren't showing situational awareness. Just such a well-written and executed movie, and the sequel was equally as good. Trinity, not so much, but I blame weak writing and Ryan Reynolds' scene-stealing presence for taking away from what it could have been. The first two, though: masterpieces of action cinematography.

And while Mahershala Ali is definitely the next best thing, they've dragged out making it with him so long that he's also getting up there age wise, so they might want to replace him with someone younger at this stage. I'd just love one more with Wesley Snipes 🙏💕
Blade was STONE cold man
Blade Built the House The MCU stands in. Give Wesley Snipes the Logan Style Blade Sendoff Movie He deserves!
No give Wesley snipes another trilogy
Hell yea a Blade sequel after the events of Deadpool 3 would be glorious. Wesley Snipes deserves it
Lol, I love the way Wesley Snipes says that Blade not wearing his glasses would draw attention to him because of his eyes, but a guy wearing black leather, armour, metal weapons and with a sword sticking out of the top of his coat doesn't draw any attention lol.
He was referring to being recognized by other vampires if they saw his eyes.
One of the best superhero films of all time! Wesley Snipes alone made this film Iconic! The Club scene is super badass and his entrance was cool af! Blade 2 is a good follow up, hugely underrated sequel! Trinity on the other hand... Is... Well, it's... Let's just say.. Spectacular!
My favorite movie from childhood and still day
Will watch all the movies
ET, BLADE Is And Always Will Be The Most Outstanding And Seriously Spectacular Vampire Movie Ever Made!!! .. Loved This Video By The Way! .... BRAVO!! ... CC ❤❤❤
Wesley Snipes oozes style when he fights. I love him.
Definitely. After watching Passenger 57 you could see his quick speed, agility and fluency 👌
Snipes impact on blade is so iconic even his comic book reflects his look ud think they were using his face. Kinda like how sam jacksons popularity changed his look in the comics to resemble the actor
Approximately at the 2:40 mark, a young girl around twelve who displayed remarkable combat skills, delivering swift and flexible kicks that significantly contributed to Blade's capture. It would have been great if you could have included a clip showcasing her performance in this scene
Her name is Eboni Adams and she is the Taekwondo girl, the girl with the incredible kicks that kick Blade through the glass lol.
Blade was the first movie that got comic book movies right no exceptions. No Blade no Marvel.
The fact that Wesley Snipes didn't workshop his voice and just went with whatever sounded right at that exact moment makes the film even better.
wesley's hazel eyes really help with the whole vampire look
People need to understand how incredible was to watch this movie for the first time in the cinema when it came out.
Opening scene is phenomenal!
One of my fave movies, Wesley Snipes can't be replaced he was and is Blade, this film was the 1st Marvel film that got that 10/10 easily.
blade had the freshest fucking cut of all the marvel heroes to this date and then the tattoos in the hairline ABSOLUTE FIRE
blade is still BY FAR the best comic book movie ever.
It’s definitely my favorite movie of all time
I think you're probably right. I can't think of any comic book hero that beats blade.
@@Mickparrysstepdad Not think, they're right
Welcome to the MCU!
To smooth cool with that coat and moves too cool no one does it better than Westly
I watch Blade at least once a quarter. There is no marvel property movie that I have watched more times than Blade. It is so well done and it has aged IMPECCABLY
Theres only one blade ‼️ 💯
Facts
Still holds up after all these years
And he did a legendary job at it! Nothing can compare. Best Marvel movie & character portrayal of all time! They should’ve seen this coming & kept at it.
Wesley Snipes my favorite comic book superhero actor. Bring him back as a mentor for the new Blade movie 🙏
I wish Snipes' Blade was introduced in the MCU somehow.
:)
@@lllightskindude😎👍🏾
The best Blade ever
Wesley, as a person who has drawn both tremendous inspiration and influence from your portrayal of Blade, you're damn right we appreciate it!
Wesley Snipe is a great guy
Even in 2024 this would be a banger!! Thanks to Ryan Renolds we get to see Blade as Westley Snipes once again
top 2-3 comic book movies/actors of all time. hands down. no discussion.
Wesley Snipes is Blade as Brandon Lee is Eric Draven. FACTSSSSSSSS
🫵🏾💯👍🏾
"Theres only been one blade, theres only EVER gonna be one blade" 😏😳
I wish Wesley could reprise this role! He was epic!
He did, indeed.
And now we have a returning for blade 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉😮😮😮😮
Wesley Snipes killed the role, became that role💯💯💯
Wesley as Blade is the Blueprint of what MCU is today, all the movies wouldn't be what they are if it wasnt for Wesley's performance as Blade.
Blade is what the MCU should have been, full on savage, this new blade coming out better live up to this title.
He's transcended the character so, it's a big difference from playing a character. This is why there's only one Blade, which is Wesley Snipes.
Back with Ryan once again.
we need wesley back in a blade movie
Blade had swagger and style . Snipes really brought the character to life on the big screen.
THE MCU NEEDS ' BLADE ' AGAIN .
One of my favorite superhero movies of all-time, especially the first one.
This movie aged like a fine diamond 💎
One of the best comic book character adaptation and to movie ever. Blade 1
Wesley Snipes owns this role.
snipes made blade (the character) relevant and made changes to the character that's still being replicated to this today all that snipes introduced.
snipes is blade bring him back
Blade is amazing because all the actors also committed to their roles and made it even more believable.
A great hero against an equally terrifying villain.
Dude I don't care Wesley Snipes is blade so badass.
I've completely forgotten that and wanted to look it up again :-)))
And now I'm here.
I think Blade 1 and 2 are outstanding. Part 3 is ok, but not as good as 1 and 2.
I would love to see a 4th Blade movie before Blade shows up again in Secret Invasion.
Wesley is the best!!!
The only Blade I recognize is Wesley Snipes period ‼️ Respect to the other guys but Wesley really embodied Blade and brought the character to life.
Blade is a incredible film, a all time favorite
I'm not saying Marshall-Allah Ali will be bad, but Wesley Snipes as Blase was one of a kind! 💪😎
The only thing cooler than Snipes is Blade played by Snipes. Period. RIP Whistler.

"People will appreciate"
In 2024, even though there's another cool dude set to portray Blade, clearly people still appreciate it.
There will never be another weslie snipes. Blade is his never change it.
legendary role and performance by Snipes
"There is only one Blade, and there will only be one Blade"
