      @@GadgetryTech Mate do any of these headsets have white noise when you're not playing or listening to something? I bought Steelseries Arctis Pro Wireless last month and the white noise was insufferable. Even on %40 volume I had white noise suppressing my game and music audio so I had to send them back. I'm thinking about buying the Nova 7 wireless but if it has any kind of white noise I don't want them. Also do you think a studio headset would be good for gaming?

    I love that you mentioned positional awareness. As a FPS player positional sound and vertical sound is pretty important. Big channels don't really talk about stuff like this as they just want to get paid. Perhaps you could go just a little more in depth on this topic in future reviews :D

    I'm surprised you didn't mention the Razer Blackshark V2 Pro wireless headset. Good battery life. Excellent audio and a decent mic. Also has good wireless range. Positional audio is "ok" but they are great for music, movies, and RPG type games.
    The Corsair HS80 audio is flat or a bit dull. 100% agree there.
    I have the EPOS H6Pro closed backs. Is there anything within the wireless segment that compares to those? I don't care about price. I just want wireless audio with decent audio positioning and a decent mic. So far the H6pro has been the best headset I've ever owned so far.
    Here is what I've used so far:
    EPOS H3Hybrid Pro - Good sound but bad audio positioning and wireless performance sucks and cuts out or garbles.
    EPOS H6Pro - Great sound and good mic but being wired is the only downfall.
    Blackshark V2 Pro - Good sound and mic. The headband retention system loosens and slides. Had to super glue mine in place for them to be comfy and not annoying.
    HS80 - Best wireless mic you can get. Comfy. Audio is flat and dull.
    Arctis 7x (not nova) - Audio sucks. Barely any bass and the mids sound weird. Mic is barely ok. I will never recommend this headset.
    Beyerdynamics DT770 Pro with Mod Mic 5. Audio is good for music and movies but audio positioning is non-existent even for closed backs. Treble is a bit sharp. The mic is superb.

    • @brandonmcbee1149
      @brandonmcbee1149 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Heiden Easily the best headset I've ever owned. Sound is excellent out of the box and even better with Sonar. I also like the fact that there are 2 dedicated wireless connection options. One that connects directly to the base station and one that's a basic Bluetooth connection that I use to connect to other devices. I use it for music just as much as for gaming. Plus, with the mic retracted, it doesn't look like a gaming set, so I don't feel weird wearing it outside of the house.
      As far as the games I play, they're a fairly good mix of genres. Here's what I've been playing lately: CoD, Apex Legends, Last Epoch, Forza 5, Jedi: Fallen Order, WoW, Elden Ring, Tunic, Risk of Rain 2 and Diablo 4. I also play a lot of VR titles, although I don't use the Arctis Novas for that due to the VR set having on board speakers.

    As an owner of both the Audeze Penrose (for PS5 and with Wicked Cushions freeze pads) and the Audeze Mobius (for PC and with Wicked Cushions freeze pads) I can fully recommend either, depending on your needs. The sound stage for the Penrose is wider than the Mobius but it misses out on the 3D positional audio which has to be experienced to be believed. I also use Sennheiser Momentum over-ears and Apple Airpod Pro 1 and 2 for music and video, and the Airpods provide top notch noise cancellation as well as 3D positional audio, but that’s outside of the scope of this - excellent - video. 👍

      The Penrose is BEAUTIFUL. However I have to send mine for repair because of the driver plate in the left ear is rattling and causing frequency distortion. Sucks that it has to happen on a headset i hardly used for 3 months, but hey, if they can get it all repaired or replaced, awesome. I LOVE the headset. The sound quality is absolutely fantastic for a wireless headset. Absolutely kills the competition. Just BE CAREFUL with them!!! Audeze themselves said that the drivers are VERY sensitive. So dont throw them around, press them onto your years (Could bend the mesh), or overdrive the volume on them.

    The Stealth 700 Gen 2 Max is pretty much my daily driver at this point. I play a lot of CoD and Hunt Showdown with friends on Xbox, and they work phenomenally well AS LONG AS you make sure to update the firmware. At release they had a lot of issues with not connecting, turning off randomly, low volume, etc. but to Turtle Beach's credit they really fixed up those issues in firmware updates. I love them now.
    If I'm going wired it's easily the EPOS H6Pros for me. Nothing touches them that I've tried.

For example, I have the nova Pro wireless and love them. To see if I'm alone, I have watched COUNTLESS reviews on them. You are the first person to mention that the wireless station automatically turns on AND is set to whatever machine you turn on when you have both USB ports on use. Love how you mentioned that. I love my Nova 7. Now that I’ve changed the stock pads with official SteelSeries leatherette pads it sounds even better. I found my best custom EQ and with the leatherette pads I get the best sound across the whole frequency
    I tried the Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 2 Max. It sounds quite good, but not as good as the Nova 7. But the thing that put me off the most was the Turtle Beach Audio app. When I did my custom EQ and used them straight away it was fine, but every time I turned the headset off, then next day back on again, it kept going back to default sound and I had to open the app and save my custom EQ again. It was too much hassle
    I had the Nova Pro Wireless and after using it for a whole week, I decided to send it back, because compared to my old Arctis Pro Wireless it wasn’t night and day difference in sound and the old one gets louder as well. If my old Pro Wireless didn’t break, I would have stuck with it
    I’ve tested my Nova 7 for a whole week comparing with my friends Nova Pro Wireless whilst he was on holiday. They’re using the same driver and to my hearing they sounded very similar. Nova Pro Wireless only slightly edges ahead in sound, but literally only slightly
    So I came to a conclusion that it’s definitely not worth £350. They’re charging majority of that for new features like ANC and Transparency mode and the DAC with swappable batteries
    In my opinion the Nova Pro Wireless isn’t worth anymore than £250 and the fact that the Nova 7 sounds very similar and great overall, it’s a much better buy
    I also have the HyperX Core Wireless as a spare headset and it’s amazing for its price. Definitely punches above its price tag. Only if it was a little bit louder it would be the perfect headset

    • @seifertak
      @seifertak ปีที่แล้ว

      I just bought the Nova 7. Love the sound a design. Only issue is that I was used to HyperX Cloud 2 and these feels very small in compare and they constantly sliping from my head no matter I do to prevent it. Unfortunately I manage to scratch them the very first day so I think I can't return it. Also the stock fabric cushion feels very itchy and I hear them scratching every time I move my head. Not really pleasant experience for me. I'm kinda desperate because I already tried Cloud 2 Wireless and Logitech G Pro Wirelles and both were terrible with white noise. It seems that I'm forbidden to find any good headphones without any all those issues.

      @famezy is it the 7, 7p or 7x? I also returned my Nova wireless due to the ANC mics and I can't agree with you more about it's price, around 100$ above its value. I saw in a few places complaints on the Nova 7 max volume. How's yours? Did you try them on both consoles?

    • @GadgetryTech
      @GadgetryTech  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @kaplanbeny if you go in SteelSeries GG to can disable the volume limiter and they get much louder. @famezy9103 - They both use the same size drivers, but the Nova Pros have a unique driver design and material. The Nova 7 shares the same driver as the 1 and 3. The Nova 7 with leather is a knockout for sure. It tightens up the bass an treble nicely.

    Firstly, Between the Arctis 7 and Nova 7 wich one do you recommend the most? I assume that based on only the Nova 7 appearing on this list I know your anwser, but still I would like to know why? what differenciate them? I know you talked about a difference in their audio curve but I'm not that understanding of EQ tuning.
    Secondly, I know the the Nova 7X are like "Xbox version" is there a big difference between the Nova 7X and Nova 7? I use PC only, maybe Nintendo Switch in the future.
    Either I really enjoyed your review and you list, so I'm really inclidned on getting either Nova 7 or Arctis 7, but yeah don't know wich.

    After seeing how good reviews were, I picked up the SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro wireless headset (w/ Xbox compatibility). I've used Arctis Pro and Blackshark V2s recently and they were both great. But I wanted something that wasn't just good, but versatile (PC, PS5, Xbox, iOS connectivity, good range for connecting to my smart tv directly for watching/listening to things while working around that area, etc.)
    The quality of the audio on the Arctis Nova Pros is incredible. I'm used to headsets that give me a good sense of footstep direction and such. It is already the clearest sounding for enemy detection and such that I've ever used, but two more things surprised me:
    1. The sense of vertical direction. I've been able to pretty accurately determine not just when someone is say at 3 o'clock, but whether they're on the same level as me, a lower level, or higher level, and I don't just mean when someone is like right above me in a building. I mean when I'm outside the building or the like. This has been especially amazing in a game like Apex Legends with so many hills, ramps, multi-level buildings, etc. This adds a degree of Z axis precision I'm not really used to alongside the X, Y precision.
    2. The distance at which it picks these things up. I'm so used to hearing footstep and similar audio within a certain range (like say 5-10 meters? Not sure exactly the distance), but with this headset I kept expecting enemies even closer than they were for my first bit playing because it was picking up the audio so much sooner. It wasn't hard, but I still had to sort of mentally recalibrate the in-game range of sounds because of how much precision I was getting from the audio.
    Fantastic headset, also works great for things like chatting in Discord on PC while playing a game on a tablet(bluetooth) and getting audio for both. Or playing PS5 through wireless and chatting through Discord on phone. Was really impressed with how cleanly it integrates the audio from both sources.
    Phenomenal headset. No trouble with getting any of its promised features to work and work well. I was seeing excellent reviews on it all over and didn't expect this headset to still manage to surpass my expectations after hearing how hyped up it was.

    Hello, I have a question. I play on PS5 and I'm needing to get a new headset as my old one (Hyperx Cloud Flights) is getting a bit worn out but I still love them as I've had them since they came out and like how they sound. Anyways for Christmas my mom got me the Razer kaira pros and I really didn't like how they sounded as they sounded so muffled and too bassy, I couldn't pick out footsteps in any game and every game sounded unclear, no matter what PS5 sound or EQ settings I tried. So, I then returned them for the Hyperx Cloud 2 Wireless since I liked the Flights so much but, unfortunately those kind of sounded the same (even trying every setting) and were kinda uncomfortable for me. In all do you think the SS Nova 7P sound better than those two headsets I had and would they be a good upgrade going from Cloud Flights? Sorry for the long question and thank you for the great rundown on all these headsets.

For a power user i'd say those are the best since you can basically connect to 3 devices at once (2 on bt 1 on wireless) I wear those while gaming, outside, work conferencing, music listening, a true jack of all trades. And i think those are the only ones on the list which support aptx adaptive codec on bt. A bit uncomfortable with glasses but without it's nearing qc35 levels of comfort(nothing can beat those imo)

Very understandable, but still it was way worse than I expected. Returned them and I bough Penrose X. Recently I also replaced the pads with Brainwavz. Both with stock and replacement pads, in terms of sound, Penrose is miles away from Arctis Nova 7x. But then again - I hardly care about other features, but sound. So, Penrose itself is its own category.

    Wow... great video. answered a lot of my questions.... I have the stealth 700 max...I think Im happy with with them... but am thinking about returning them and spending the differance to upgrade to the steel-series nova pro's. But am not sure if I should. Nobody ever gives an overview of elaborate details between the mid range and the flagship head sets. They compare each class to each other... but im having a hard time finding elaborate details pitting midrange vs flagship and what exactly is the diminishing return as you jump from mid level to high end. I mean if your only fighting for an additional 1 or 2% improvement in sound quality.... why spend the extra... or is the jump bigger, would love to see a video on this topic!!!
    FYI - I was trying to stretch out/break in quickly my stealth 700's cause they felt a little too tight, and accidentally went too far and it folded (slightly) in the center 12 o'clock position. A little scary... still works fine. And it did reprieve some of the pressure. but ya... yikes

It's a smooth sounding headset that doesn't have the same detail retrieval as the Nova Pro or the MG20, but it's still nice to listen to. Purely for movies, I would pick H3PRO Hybrid. For Games, Nova Pro Wireless. For music, the MG20. Confusing right? Honestly you can't go wrong with the Nova Pro Wireless because it does everything so well. Just need to hope the mic bump isn't an issue, otherwise just swap the pads out with the new ones from Wicked Cushions.
