LGs explanation for it not coming to europe is that euorpeans dont like big phones , and that is complete bs. And if you order your phone from the US you wont have warranty in europe so you will have to send it back to the US which is expensive as fuck.

The launch made me get a Galaxy S7 Edge since I needed a new phone. Really bad. I waited weeks after announcement. Samsung and Apple announce a phone and release it within a week or two. LG needs get it together.
SupaxSikh I have the V20, and I must say that it's a pretty neat phone, the battery life on this thing is way better than my S6 edge that I had, the screen is the biggest diffrence from a samsung, it's not as sharp, but it doesn't over saturate the colors like an AMOLED screen does. it's plenty fast and even has a built in FM and AM radio.

Honestly I think it's best that not alot of people know...for those of us trying to come up as content creators that do know....This phone can save us alot of money and get us where we need to be(especially here on youtube) I just ordered mine a few days ago , can't wait to get it..... I'd rather pay $800 for a phone that can almost do it all than pay $5000- $10,000 on professional equipment that I really dont have alot of money for nor do I have too much time to waste sitting around trying to save up to get all that stuff, on top of that I do need a new phone. So then I can catch 2 birds with one net. I can't speak for anyone else but this phone is definitely worth it. Indigo Inspired it seems like a lot of people already know about this phone because I had to go to like 4 different T-Mobile stores in the washington dc and pg area just to get it because the LG v20 was sold out. when I was upgrading from my LG V10 and I finally found a T-Mobile store that had it they only had one LG v20 left and I was fortunate to get it.
I hope you dig it. Add an app like PowerDirector, and you can get a SHOCKING amount of work done on this phone for video editing. As for the "popularity" of the V20, it's selling best here in the USA, but that's only because LG hasn't released it in Canada, Europe, or the UK. And to that point, if someone wasn't a tech savvy consumer, what would they know about the V20 from LG advertising? Can anyone list three key features of the phone from the commercial they produced with Hit Record?
Watching this on my V20, already 2 weeks on it and I'm loving the camera and audio features. I'm planning to buy a GH4 and learn some video shooting and this phone has taught me way more than any tutorial about exposure, shutter speed and ISO. Like you said Juan, this phone is king when you fully utilize all its features. In fact, my colleagues went wow when they saw my phone.
I got the V20 on 10/31 replacing my V10 and I could not be more happier. Some key things stick out to me using the new phone: Bottom Firing Speaker: MUCH louder than the V10. I was shocked at how more detailed and loud the sound was coming out. Battery Life: I get over DOUBLE the run time off the charger then the V10. I streamed music for 9 hours straight with Social Media switching here and there before hitting 20%. I see more dips in battery life when I am constantly on my phone but it is light years better than my previous phone. Durability: I dropped my phone and got the same knick on the side as you Juan, but the phone shook this off as nothing. I was pissed because I had a case on order and was delivered the next day. It feels slippery in my hands and it is such a pretty phone (to me) that I needed to protect it. Headphone usage/DAC: I have some Panasonic ErgoFit RP-HJE120-R headphones as my daily drivers.They have amazing sound for the price and the new DAC is definitely pushing better sound. It is much louder to the point where I have to turn it down because it's too much. I got the deal to get the B&O headphones for Free and I cannot wait to get those to experience real high quality sound. This phone is simply amazing. If you got the cash I recommend buying it.

This phone rocks, my favorite feature is the ESS ES9218 DAC, powers my 50ohm Sennheiser HD558s properly. As a comparison, the $199 Audioquest Dragonfly Red uses the ESS ES9016. This is the way I've always wanted my portable audio to sound. I even tested a few DSD tracks on the V20, the difference between DSD and FLAC is highly noticeable on the V20 by the way.

At 3:03 colors on the V20 look a lot whiter due to its IPS display. LCD is absolete, once you have an Amoled display, you cant go back or your eyes will melt.
I've had my V20 for a few weeks now and for some reason the music on my HTC 10 is louder and just sounds better...I'm no audio file but I can definitely hear the difference...
JuanBagnell I think the amp on the V20 is the problem...I have both phones in front of me and I can go full volume with no problem on the V20 but on the HTC 10 I can't go past 80% without making my 👂 bleed..
Here's the issue I have with the Lg V20. A co-worker and I were really looking forward to this phone when it was announced, but with all of the hands on reviews and not having a proper released date the Google Pixel was announced and our interest started to sway a bit. We were starting to become conflicted as to which phone we wanted or liked more. It all came down to whichever phone was released first and that would be the one we'd get and it so happened to be the Pixel. Neither of us are disappointed with our choice, but we were willing and wanting to give the V20 a shot. As great and capable of a phone as it may be, it just got lost in the shuffle of news about the Note 7 recall and the Google Pixel release and great reviews. They just didn't a presence for customers to get excited about or actually put their hands on. It's a real shame to, as this should be the de facto Note 7 placeholder until Samsung makes it's next move. Missed opportunity on LG's part.
Robert Luckett I had to go to 4 different tmobile stores when I wanted to upgrade from LG v10, because all of the LG v20 were sold out. I tried to buy it online but once again they were sold out. I finally found a tmobile store that had the v20 and they only had one left and I got it.
Juan Bangell has some of the best quality reviews along side with Fisher and Marques that phone looks like a powerhouse haha but i think it's predecessor looked better keep up the good work
Great review, I have the V10 and hope to upgrade bout 6 months. You're right a huge population probably won't be exposed to this phone because of poor marketing on LG's part. As mentioned, the V series offers a bundle of cool features!
JuanBagnell, what new features the V20 will bring to the table ? I'm hoping for 💦 resistant and amoled display. Possibly fast wireless charging, I'm good with battery since having removable option. Some peeps dislike 2nd screen, I find it useful and convenient.
I got this phone right after launch because of all the videos you had posted about it. I am such a big fan of LG and their marketing is their biggest downfall. Thank you for all the information you provide about technology, from Jaime's jokes to the endings Juan puts on his videos, it reminds me of the couch scene on the opening of the Simpsons, you can't help but tune in or you'll miss it. I've seen a lot of videos about tech online but you all have a standard for quality and an unbiased facts that go beyond anything I've come across. I still demo this phone to as many people as I can because it is such a unique device but sadly it never gets any love. Thank you Pocketnow for all that you do, can't wait to see the next video!
I have the V20 and I got the Phone from Verizon for $372 with a trade in device. I don't really care much for the V20. The loudspeaker distorts and cracks yet my roomates V20 is crystal clear. Battery is okay but the screen is nothing special. Coming from Samsung the AMOLED crushes the IPS display in the V20 any day. Now the headphone DAC and Amp is really awesome. It's nice to have HiFi audio capabilities on the go. All in all I think LG did okay with this device but I wish they would've put an OLED display in this phone. I will keep it for now.
DJR5280 nah dude, I have the pixel xl and comparing the color accuracy, AMOLED screen is horrible compRed to my old lg v10's IPS LCD . forget the brightness, when I'm watching a video on a AMOLED screen , it looks like someone dropped diarrhea on my screen. bunch of yellow shit colors everywhere.
I want to assume Samsung makes the panels for HTC who made the pixel. The black levels alone are enough to justify amoled, on Samsung models you can change the color settings to other presets. No halos or ghosting and the amoled is better in direct sun.
I like the v20 screen. Coming from a Note 7 the v20 screen isn't as bright, but colors are more accurate and it's still plenty bright. I just wish the main camera was as good as Samsung's 7 series line of cameras. I wouldn't mind a stylus either.
Ever since the V10 came out I wanted to get one badly. I don't feel the same with the V20 though. The way I see it is LCD screen and average battery for 800 bucks, the glass is half empty.

Got the Phone today. I'm definitely loving it. Love how all the camera controls I had on the Lumia 950 are also on this phone, even better with video having those same controls. Then on top of all that, Audio having manual controls and overlay, with the ability to fine tune it. They really outdid themselves with this phone.

Reviewer's who know nothing about a camera with manual mode, get to the reviews and say...the camera isn't that great because its not like the Samsung's or pixels! The V20 does have AptX bluetooth. Streams bluetooth at a higher bit rate when paired with a compatible device. This has nothing to do with the Digital to Analog converter though.
Who cares about limited battery? Get another with the battery cradel (cradle? cradal? Idk). Then while your on your v20 just charge one battery while using the other. Boom. Never need to charge again.

ALL manufacturers should stop teasing devices weeks before the actual release, but the V20 announcement was certainly the most egregious offender of this year.
I was just thinking why this phone hasn't had much more exposure, or why sales haven't been better. I'm a Note fan myself, but if I were to choose a second place, it would be this phone. Literally, it is awesome.
Not too many reviewers dig deep enough with this phone they just scrap the surface playing with auto mode and complaining about the ui and dull screen. It's not what I would call well built but it's a very capable phone if you're savvy. Another good review dude!
Mr2pint The v20 screen is not dull tho. if you hold it next to a note 7 or Samsung phone the Samsung phone screen is not that much better, the colors on the Samsung phone is going to pop out a little more because of the saturation in their Colours but it's not like the LG v20 screen is like the LG G3 washed-out screen. the LG G4 had a great bright screen I should know because I have the LG G4 and the LG v20. The LG v20 screen is better and more brighter than the LG G4 screen.
I purchased a htc desire pro 20. Ended up being to big my audio kept echoing, long story short i returned that thing in one day. I ordered my v20 it'll be here maybe tomorrow so excited
One of my son-in-laws has a V20. The glass over the rear camera has broken twice. The first time when it was brand new and AT&T exchanged the phone. The next time he had it for a little over a month and LG told him. 1. The repair will cost $80. 2. They were out of stock on replacement glass. That is really terrible customer support. He has been using another phone for the past few months. I recently ordered a new glass cover for the rear camera and will replace it for him. LG could have avoided this problem that many V20 owners are having by just designing the cover properly in the first place. Also, this is clearly a design flaw and LG's lack of addressing if this, very common, issue does not say much good about how LG cares for it's customers.
Yes the V20 is the ultimate best phone on the market! I've had it for a little over a month now and love everything about it, Plus with it having a removable battery and option for a SD card gives it a big plus for me! I'd suggest you try it out if your wanting a phablet sized smart phone that beast!

This coming from a samsung snob... The ONLY reason I got this phone *In 2018 mind you* is my refusal to give up an easily swap-able battery since I carry a spare to swap in when on the go. My original launch purchased note 4 is still kicking but I was ready for something new and it's showing it's age. I was going to buy a new note 4 to replace mine but then.. for some reason.. I decided no.. I want something newer.. but with the battery option. The LG V20 was the only option I was seeing that was newer with a big screen I'm used to from my previous generations of the note line. I must say... I am impressed... I didn't have high hopes at all.. I figured "well this phone is from 2016 it's not going to be that good" I was wrong.. even today I am impressed with the upgrade from the note 4.. Yes I miss my S-pen terribly ... But that audio from the headphone jack... I thought all the reviews were BS thinking... Audio is audio.. how can my $40 earbuds sound any better on a different phone... OH... wait it does.... a lot.... then I thought "oh look another fingerprint sensor.. but on the back.. well this is stupid due to it being a big phone.. (I was used to the thumb sensor on the home button and having to swipe) so I ASSUMED it'd be finicky and just awkward in my hand to fight with.... also so very very wrong again.. That sensor works so much better than the note.. Oh... hey... that second screen is awesome as well.... and wow.. the responsiveness is wonderful too..... TLDR: Me being a DIE-hard Galaxy Note snob.... I.. am Impressed with this LG v20... I really... really... like it.... I miss my Spen but I'll get over it.

Unfornately the main devices hit by the bootloop problems were the G4 and the v10, the v20 is almost like the redemption of LG's phone line up :)

I've had this phone since launch day. It's been amazing. The only issue is definitely the battery when being used, but the standby time is great.

Here's the issue I have with the Lg V20. A co-worker and I were really looking forward to this phone when it was announced, but with all of the hands on reviews and not having a proper released date the Google Pixel was announced and our interest started to sway a bit. We were starting to become conflicted as to which phone we wanted or liked more. It all came down to whichever phone was released first and that would be the one we'd get and it so happened to be the Pixel. Neither of us are disappointed with our choice, but we were willing and wanting to give the V20 a shot. As great and capable of a phone as it may be, it just got lost in the shuffle of news about the Note 7 recall and the Google Pixel release and great reviews. They just didn't a presence for customers to get excited about or actually put their hands on. It's a real shame to, as this should be the de facto Note 7 placeholder until Samsung makes it's next move. Missed opportunity on LG's part.
Robert Luckett I had to go to 4 different tmobile stores when I wanted to upgrade from LG v10, because all of the LG v20 were sold out. I tried to buy it online but once again they were sold out. I finally found a tmobile store that had the v20 and they only had one left and I got it.

Great review, I have the V10 and hope to upgrade bout 6 months. You're right a huge population probably won't be exposed to this phone because of poor marketing on LG's part. As mentioned, the V series offers a bundle of cool features!
It's a shame. I know there are people out there who are missing out.
JuanBagnell, what new features the V20 will bring to the table ? I'm hoping for 💦 resistant and amoled display. Possibly fast wireless charging, I'm good with battery since having removable option. Some peeps dislike 2nd screen, I find it useful and convenient.

I got this phone right after launch because of all the videos you had posted about it. I am such a big fan of LG and their marketing is their biggest downfall. Thank you for all the information you provide about technology, from Jaime's jokes to the endings Juan puts on his videos, it reminds me of the couch scene on the opening of the Simpsons, you can't help but tune in or you'll miss it. I've seen a lot of videos about tech online but you all have a standard for quality and an unbiased facts that go beyond anything I've come across. I still demo this phone to as many people as I can because it is such a unique device but sadly it never gets any love. Thank you Pocketnow for all that you do, can't wait to see the next video!
True LG v20 is clearly the best of 2016 that phone carry almost every thing you looking for in a smart phone
I have the V20 and I got the Phone from Verizon for $372 with a trade in device. I don't really care much for the V20. The loudspeaker distorts and cracks yet my roomates V20 is crystal clear. Battery is okay but the screen is nothing special. Coming from Samsung the AMOLED crushes the IPS display in the V20 any day. Now the headphone DAC and Amp is really awesome. It's nice to have HiFi audio capabilities on the go. All in all I think LG did okay with this device but I wish they would've put an OLED display in this phone. I will keep it for now.
Yeah. I would have prefered an OLED too. We know LG makes some great displays. I wonder when they'll try an OLED on a phone again...
DJR5280 nah dude, I have the pixel xl and comparing the color accuracy, AMOLED screen is horrible compRed to my old lg v10's IPS LCD . forget the brightness, when I'm watching a video on a AMOLED screen , it looks like someone dropped diarrhea on my screen. bunch of yellow shit colors everywhere.
I want to assume Samsung makes the panels for HTC who made the pixel. The black levels alone are enough to justify amoled, on Samsung models you can change the color settings to other presets. No halos or ghosting and the amoled is better in direct sun.
I like the v20 screen. Coming from a Note 7 the v20 screen isn't as bright, but colors are more accurate and it's still plenty bright.
I just wish the main camera was as good as Samsung's 7 series line of cameras. I wouldn't mind a stylus either.

Ever since the V10 came out I wanted to get one badly. I don't feel the same with the V20 though. The way I see it is LCD screen and average battery for 800 bucks, the glass is half empty.
VoloKin Project battery is not average. in the LCD screen does not suck flossy Carter one of the best reviews on TH-cam held the v20 screen up against the Note 7 screen and the screens are right on par with each other with Samsung screen being a little bit more brighter and saturated because of the colors.

Got the Phone today. I'm definitely loving it. Love how all the camera controls I had on the Lumia 950 are also on this phone, even better with video having those same controls. Then on top of all that, Audio having manual controls and overlay, with the ability to fine tune it. They really outdid themselves with this phone.

I have been saying what you just said in this review for the last few months. OMG! Reviewer's who know nothing about a camera with manual mode, get to the reviews and say...the camera isn't that great because its not like the Samsung's or pixels! And my response is...LG never said that they are the best for point and shoot in automatic mode. I don't understand how these people who have a higher level of understanding don't get it! That's why i love LG, they don't give a shit about fitting into the norm of what's going on with everything else out there. Thank you for explaining what this phone is about its about, people who aren't afraid to try something new while allowing you to take full control. What it shows me is people love saying how they are in control until they are in control, then it becomes a problem! As i said...It doesn't mean a car is bad because it was only made with a manual transmission and you only know how to drive an automatic! And that's the problem, people love saying how they are in control but yet when control is handed over to them then they don't like it! I'm so tired of hearing that the V20 camera is not as good, because you can't shoot in manual mode makes it bad! Then they'll say...the pixel, Samsung and Apple does it better! Well i'm sorry you don't know your way around manual controls Content Creators! I guess i'm having problems comprehending what Content Creators means. I heard that within the next few years an award-winning documentary and or movie will be shot on a smartphone, well that won't happen if you don't know how to set the mood to the scene! The V20 does have AptX bluetooth. Streams bluetooth at a higher bit rate when paired with a compatible device. This has nothing to do with the Digital to Analog converter though.

Who cares about limited battery? Get another with the battery cradel (cradle? cradal? Idk). Then while your on your v20 just charge one battery while using the other. Boom. Never need to charge again.

I was waiting for this phone to launch back in September but I got impatient and bought the One plus 3. LG should stop launching phones a month after their announcement.
ALL manufacturers should stop teasing devices weeks before the actual release, but the V20 announcement was certainly the most egregious offender of this year.

Not too many reviewers dig deep enough with this phone they just scrap the surface playing with auto mode and complaining about the ui and dull screen. It's not what I would call well built but it's a very capable phone if you're savvy.

Mr2pint The v20 screen is not dull tho. if you hold it next to a note 7 or Samsung phone the Samsung phone screen is not that much better, the colors on the Samsung phone is going to pop out a little more because of the saturation in their Colours but it's not like the LG v20 screen is like the LG G3 washed-out screen. the LG G4 had a great bright screen I should know because I have the LG G4 and the LG v20. The LG v20 screen is better and more brighter than the LG G4 screen.

I'll wait a year for it to go down in price. My lgg3 died due to the screen going. So I hope this will do better.

One of my son-in-laws has a V20. The glass over the rear camera has broken twice. The first time when it was brand new and AT&T exchanged the phone. The next time he had it for a little over a month and LG told him.
1. The repair will cost $80.
2. They were out of stock on replacement glass.
That is really terrible customer support.
He has been using another phone for the past few months.
I recently ordered a new glass cover for the rear camera and will replace it for him. LG could have avoided this problem that many V20 owners are having by just designing the cover properly in the first place.
Also, this is clearly a design flaw and LG's lack of addressing if this, very common, issue does not say much good about how LG cares for it's customers.
Yes the V20 is the ultimate best phone on the market! I've had it for a little over a month now and love everything about it, Plus with it having a removable battery and option for a SD card gives it a big plus for me! I'd suggest you try it out if your wanting a phablet sized smart phone that beast!

I only use Lux because that's what my light meter measures in. Essentially I'm just trying to find one consistent measuring output relative to the GS7 at 50%.

This coming from a samsung snob... The ONLY reason I got this phone *In 2018 mind you* is my refusal to give up an easily swap-able battery since I carry a spare to swap in when on the go. My original launch purchased note 4 is still kicking but I was ready for something new and it's showing it's age. I was going to buy a new note 4 to replace mine but then.. for some reason.. I decided no.. I want something newer.. but with the battery option. The LG V20 was the only option I was seeing that was newer with a big screen I'm used to from my previous generations of the note line. I must say... I am impressed... I didn't have high hopes at all.. I figured "well this phone is from 2016 it's not going to be that good" I was wrong.. even today I am impressed with the upgrade from the note 4.. Yes I miss my S-pen terribly ... But that audio from the headphone jack... I thought all the reviews were BS thinking... Audio is audio.. how can my $40 earbuds sound any better on a different phone... OH... wait it does.... a lot.... then I thought "oh look another fingerprint sensor.. but on the back.. well this is stupid due to it being a big phone.. (I was used to the thumb sensor on the home button and having to swipe) so I ASSUMED it'd be finicky and just awkward in my hand to fight with.... also so very very wrong again.. That sensor works so much better than the note.. Oh... hey... that second screen is awesome as well.... and wow.. the responsiveness is wonderful too..... TLDR: Me being a DIE-hard Galaxy Note snob.... I.. am Impressed with this LG v20... I really... really... like it.... I miss my Spen but I'll get over it.
