@American Freedom World Peace I sold mine using it only for half a year because of 'the screen retention', now using v35 and V20 is still in my heart.. loved it so much)
I bought mine December 2016, and still trying to break... (4 to 10 drops on daily basis) One time I was climbing the stair of my apartment, on top of the stairs it slided from my hand started flying over my head it as about to drop to the stairwell (from the 4th floor to the ground floor) I hit v20 with the bags on my other hand to send it to the wall, it hit the wall, and drop down to from 2 meters height. :) still working like hell. It tried to drink my hot and cold beverages,(2 cokes, 1 tea, and 1 milked coffee) All the way down, even when the coffee spilled all over, I answered a call talked for a few minutes, said that I had to start cleaning phone... I don't know if it is just shock resistant but this phone has MIL-STD-810G certificate, which is basically Pentagon gives this certificate to tell "this device durable enough to be used on the field by U.S. Army"
um it's not out in the USA yet & pre order was supposed to be mid Sept. Public doesn't even have solid pre order date yet. Tmo finally says 'coming soon'. I hope so
At first, I was planning to buy my first iPhone, the iPhone 7 Plus. However, because of the lack of audio jack, I was on the fence. I was very unaware of any LG products. (Always Samsung vs Apple vs Google) When I watched this video, Marques was very convincing, so now I've ordered the LG V20. I've done more research and the specs are competitive to the iPhone. Thanks Marques, your reviews are really helpful!
my lg g3 doesnt do any of that i find it to be a great phone other than the fact the screen doesnt get bright enough and can have heating issues if the brightness is to high although it was the first phone with quad hd display
Recently switched from an iPhone 6S to the V20 because I got one for $350 cash. I thought it was just another phone ! Boy was I wrong! the second screen is amazing it completely frees up my main screen completely! preformance is on par with the pixel xl I had. added a 128GB SD card too
I'm thinking of getting either this phone or an LG G5, I am using a 4-year-old Galaxy S3 right now and it is a perfect size, not too big not too small for my small hands. I'm kind of intimidated by the V20 as it looks absolutely huge in his hands and will probably be even bigger in mine. Anyway, which phone should I get?
@@munchkin4887 I also got it last year, its great. Zero complaints. The camera is good I still have loads of memory Idk. Its pretty nice as long as you dont pay too much for it. I got mine for 270.
It is actually a really good phone but its underated because most of the public probably don't even know it exists rather just iPhones and Samsung Galaxy phones.
I have to give back my Note 7 (even though I'm in love w/ it) and I'm thinking of getting this over the Pixel XL. I haven't had an LG since the Chocolate, lmao! But the removable battery and the separate display is super nice.
dont disgrace yourself with the pixel bezels and just get the v20. Don't worry about the smaller battery the software is unbelievably optimized, especially for a skinned android phone.
I WAS SERIOUSLY ABOUT TO GET THE IPHONE 7 THEN THIS BAD BOY COMES OUT! Wowwwww....I may very well just get an ipad and this. Huge fucking combo! This is the most complete phone I've seen.

If you got it already let us know your thoughts. I'm a note person. I got this because of explode gate of note 7. But honestly note 8 or note 9 would be a awesome upgrade not this.
I'm considering getting one to have it as a backup phone. I found in (supposed) like new condition for $70 on eBay. Oh, the difference a couple of years make! ;-)
Yea for android there is only Samsung phone that so called the best, but there is more android phones and most of them are underrated. Not only Samsung
It's battery and processing power are just not enough to keep it in 2019..i got the V40 as an upgrade and it's my favorite phone ever.. It's sleek beautiful and light.. That snap 845 blazes.. Shit any 835 and up SD phone is ⏩... Life's Good.. Love the wide angle love the quad dac once u go LG u will never go back... I said by to Sammy after the s7.. All hype.. The s10 is alright my bro just got it... The iPhone 11 pro max is a pretty sweet device.. LG started the wide angle craze with the g5.. They had the first notch on the V10.. They're innovators...
I'm in love with LG phones. I used to have a Galaxy S4 and I switched to the current one LG G4 and it seems pretty up-to-date for me and will last for a while.
do back up. I really like LG (I use Sony), but both my sister's, and my uncle's G4s (both recommended by me. woops) died withen 1 week 5 months after thry bought them
Can someone please help me! I can't get any universal remote app to work on my lg v20 to turn on my tv or yamaha receiver. Do I have to enable something?
4 years since release of this video. Got my V20 yesterday. Still feel underrated, that thing HAWT. Didin't expect it to be even bigger than my siblings Iphone 11. For 110$ for a near-new used one, coudln't have beaten that.
Watching it on my LG v20 right now haha. Still waiting on a phone to "upgrade" to but it will need to really be amazing to get me to get rid of the v20. Every year I just replace my cheap clear case, rearrange some apps and wallpapers, and stuff a new battery in it and it just keeps chugging and feeling new. I def recommend it for anyone on a strict budget to look at a refurb v20.
The year is 2020, I still have an LG V20. This phone was an underrated beast when it came out, and it still is pretty much the same! Camera rocks (Especially the video features!)😎 The quad DAC is a music lover's dream!!!🤩 The second screen is one of the best quirks (that actually matter) ever seen on a phone.🤩 And it breaks the floor when it falls (Old Nokia vibes) 🤯 The only problem I ever had was the battery, had to replace it. And because it has a removable battery, i still carry around the old one as spare! Its a win-win actually! Don't like the UI? Get a launcher ! If you don't care about having the latest software versions, and about invisible bezels and curved displays, this phone can compete against pretty much any latest phone in the features and quality department even today! I just can't let go of this phone, and i'll be using it till it becomes absolutely obsolete. And then I'm gonna lay him down to rest in the absolutely lovely retail box he came in! (would still live in my cupboard 😍🥰) Easily the best phone I've ever had! I'm thinking about getting a new lg V series device, but the V60 is a bit too pricey for my budget😪 Edit: And it has an IR blaster! 😎🤩😁
@@TheDarkness344 I use mine for music nowadays... the display has some issues. All in all, its an absolute legend of a phone! They don't make them like they used to, do they?!!
@@alanjohns_415 yea kinda sad XD it's very consumer driven now days and at the moment is all about cameras lol. @@alanjohns_415 yea they can, buts its kinda impractical having the phone able to be opened hard to waterproof and it would also mean there would be no wireless charging unless the back part had a connector to the phone.
DAC is not an amp. Having a good DAC doesn't necessarily mean it has adequate power to drive a high impedance headphone although I'm sure LG couples it with a good amp anyway. By the way any idea who made the DAC?
Well im getting this phone now since my note 7 went kablooyey. honestly this is a great phone, has abetter camera than the note, and some kewl lg features. And great audio. Gonna miss the spen.
I'm torn, but I am thinking that your action plan is best. I've waited on exchanging my note 7 and now, just maybe, an excellent option has presented itself.
I also have a Note 7, just got my replacement four days ago, and now I'm researching for a new phone. I'm torn between the LG V20 and the Galaxy S7 Edge. I think the Edge is the more obvious choice, because it's almost the same phone, but I LOVED my LG G3 when I had it, and now I'm considering this one too.
+Tyler Sokanoff I also have a Note 7 and I am considering the S7 Edge and the V20, I feel like the S7 Edge is basically the same phone without USB C, the Iris Scanner and S Pen. The V20 is very different but still seems very good. I am torn.
i actually had the s7 edge, its a good phone, you will either hate the edges or love it. But the v20 comes with nougat, and its software ui is much cleaner than samsungs. The s7edge is good but the ui is kind of ugly it isnt like the note 7 or v20.
Kazara Digital ill misd the note 7. the refunded me but i still have the phone. maybe ill send a riooed up box with no phibe and keep it as a wifi only device.

4:06 thanks for pointing out MKBHD I agree with you 100% if I am an app developer I would be utilising that big navbar space on android; designing a quick navbar swipe to the left/right for switching b/w different customisable toggle/shortcut; something which apple dont have (on-screen navbar) and can be a big selling point for future androids but right now I can only hope
You can put whatever app shortcuts you want on the second screen once you unlock the device with fingerprint. He is either wrong, or talking about when phone is locked.
I dont know whether android has a customisable navbar apps or not so far I am using : Muviz Navbar Apps Softkeyz (root) on MM 6.0.1 Gravitybox (root) but none has a way to make a new navbar space
So far i had this phone for few months n i must admit the experience has been fantastic. Decent size screen, sleek design and overall g8 phone for price u pay. Only downside is battery as i purchased Perfine brand from amazon for £14. This is great battery as it last all day even after heavy use. I hope it helps. Cheers
I've been using this phone for nearly two years and I feel no reason to replace it with another phone. Everything works just fine and never fails to deliver.
i love being able to keep my phone for more than 24 months and being able to replace the batteries myself for $20 and it takes 30 seconds to do so no new Galaxy or iPhone can do that
@American Freedom World Peace Looking back at this 3 years old comment (and I still have the v20)... well, let's say the screen burning + the removable battery make this phone 60% worthy. Raise that to 70% if you take in consideration the cheap prices by buying it refurbished
@@patrickpenick3637 Kinda, but the notch is located above the main screen, with the matching black secondary screen. Soo i pop out soo much less and dosen't interfere with the main screen.
I don't know if anyone commented for this already but and extra screen at the top can be modified to change the apps. to remove one of the apps you just hold it down and then move it to the removed section on the screen. to add another at you just highlight that you want and dragged it into the empty space. so that section at the top of the screen of the LG v20 is customizable
so after all the trouble my Note 7 gave me, first the recall then getting a loaner phone and then after all that also tracking down a replacement Note 7. Now the safe Note 7 having issues I'm gonna have to part with samsung this year and go with the V20.
Pedro Macário LG currently has no plans to release the phone in europe. I both tweeted and emailed LG and no response so just what the news sources say.
Still using the LG V20 modded up with a 4125mAh battery. The SD821 frequency bump so all 4 cores run at 2.4GHz with Adreno 530 running at 700MHz. Replaces the thermal paste with something more reliable. The qDAC is still pushing my 250Ω Sennheiser's like the day i got it. Although I jyst snagged the LG V50, i still find myself using the V20. I have a 55in VIZIO 4K TV that doesn't have a remote so the IR Blaster definitely comes in handy which most people forget about. It also has Slimport support, so the 1440p signal gets upscaled perfectly to 4K and no lag what so ever with a high HDMI cable. Being able to swap out the battery with another 4125mAh one is awsome. Again another 1st for the V20 was that it supports BAND 66 with 3CA. On T-Mobile that's a great thing. The LG V20 is pushing the 4year old mark but mime still runs just as fast if not faster than most mid-rangers of today. The Adreno 530 thermally uncapped so it doesn't throttle and cause micro stutter makes it suitable for gaming, which i find funny. The Adreno 530 without frequency drops is equal to the Adreno 618 in the Snapdragon 730G used in upper mid-rangers. Not to shabby for a phone that can be purchased new for $100.
december 2015, if this phone bootloops on me and lg just just ignores my pleas then i will be done with lg. but all i can say is that for now the phone has been amazing. i bought it unlocked btw.
Alot of LG phones have been getting bootloopes, which basically puts your phone in an endless restart mode and basically bricks your phone, it has something to do with the heating of the phone and the motherboard. Lg hasn't really done much to solve this, so I'd be careful when buying an LG phone
I was going to buy either a LG G6 or a Samsung Galaxy S8 and I actually ended up settling for this LG V20 instead. I got one factory unlocked for $420 in Titan Grey. I didn't even think twice with the LG G6 and Galaxy S8 to most likely be around $750 off contract I think this was a smart move because while those are great phones, I don't think those phones are worth $300 more than the V20 I currently have a G5 so I'll have to get that sold.
This will be replacing my Note 7. Apparently, the new Notes are also having issues. Just to be safe, I'm getting rid of it. No more Samsung phones for a while and fuck no Apple products for a longer while lol.
PutridCarcassDeathMetal So far the only issue I heard about this phone is battery life related. But at least we can change it when it dies so not to big of an inconvenience. I know it isn't water resistant either but that's no biggie for me.
Well with battery life, for my LG phone I but a second battery and a battery "cradle" (charger) and I'm good to go. I can charge my a battery at home while I'm at work, and stitch when I get home.
it's not underrated, LG is just stupid with marketing, I'm still getting the phone, been interested in it before the announcement last month, but god LG is TERRIBLE with marketing the thing.
If they are going to market it better, the device will be either more expensive or it will have a cutdown in specs, or build quality, whatever. marketing costs a lot of money, so be happy that lg is putting most money into the phone itself.
Bas Bastiaansen so let me get this straight...I understand what you mean, but why take the time to develop and make the phone if no one knows about it...you know how many people see my G flex 2 and have no idea what it is and think my phone is broken. I'm not saying dump all your money into advertising, but just let it be known that it's out there and coming, don't make an announcement then nothing for a month (especially during an iphone announcement and launch and not taking some of the market from exspoldsung), then I bet if it doesn't sell well, it will be for "other reasons"
Nah it's just that no one cares about LG. Commercials won't help either. The only way for them to get the main stream audience to use their phones is buy paying famous people or even basic Instagram models (thots) to take selfies with their phone every damn day. Apple does it, Nike does it. LG should get on aboard
great looking phone, but I'm just dying for Samsung to put removable batteries back in the galaxy line. don't make me switch to LG for something so simple lol
I have the v20. I love this phone but the camera is not as good as the S8(my new phone). But everything else is good. I recommend it if you just need a phone for texting, calling, or YT... But for pictures and video you are better of with an iPhone, Samsung or Pixel.
its not coming to europe, but you can import it from asia/us make sure you check the 4g bands for the network that you use and buy the model which has them bands. and then you can decide on what model you want. The H990DS seems to be the best so far. www.techwalls.com/lg-v20-model-numbers-differences/
LG was not the first brand introducing dual camera, I think was htc like 2 or 3 years ago but was a fail and no one use dual camera again until this year
When note7 screwed me not once but twice. I got my LG V20 to replace them. I am still using it. Batteries are easy to find on ebay. Love the double touch on and off. Plus the IR blaster turns it into my handy remote for several items. Nothing on the market compairs with it. The only minor drawback is screen burn in. You will see ghost images of last things on the screen. However unless something comes close to it I won't be changing anytime soon
after the news they have stopped production. and my pre order of he note 7 in the uk due at the end of the month i think i will cancel and pick up the v20. looks solid
hahaha! yeah.. but I think apart from the quad DAC, it has built in ampifier, too? idk.. but one thing i know is that this phone can drive high impedance headphones, which is a good thing! :)
Figured he would have known DAC VS Amp but as Nuvianto said it may have a higher powered amp if sound is louder. Makes me curious about how loud average headphones get on it...
Oh wow, built in amplifier, that thing that Android Vanilla has had since the beginnings of time. Having it as a software too, and it does an excellent job. There's no use for this phone. High quality DAC is not a feature lmao
sync f, you are completely wrong. not all amplifiers operate as good as the v20's amp, and a high quality dac is definitely a feature for a phone, it can provide a better signal to the amplifier

Its more of a ghosting since it goes away/isnt permanent. You can reduce/fix it by using somethng like sFilter app to adjust the display certain way.
Yea the ghosting was a sad issue for the V20, got it myself - although I learned to live with it and nearly never notices it anymore. It has just become a norm for me :P
But that LG just moved on and did not see it as an issue, is horrible. but not surprising - who cares, we got your money, now go buy something new of ours.
lmao what are you doing here
@@TheMasterWanker not really true.

A removable battery and is shock resistant, I'm sold! Plus all those other features. This is the ultimate dream phone for me
Aubry Tubuhan does shock resistant mean “drop” resistant?
Army"
Lg are somewhat underrated as well.

LG: How can people have their own names over the screen?
- oh lets put a second screen on it🙌👏👏👏
The year is 2020,
I still have an LG V20.
This phone was an underrated beast when it came out, and it still is pretty much the same!
Camera rocks (Especially the video features!)😎
The quad DAC is a music lover's dream!!!🤩
The second screen is one of the best quirks (that actually matter) ever seen on a phone.🤩
And it breaks the floor when it falls (Old Nokia vibes) 🤯
The only problem I ever had was the battery, had to replace it.
(would still live in my cupboard 😍🥰)
Easily the best phone I've ever had!
I'm thinking about getting a new lg V series device, but the V60 is a bit too pricey for my budget😪

@@TheDarkness344 yeahh
It is true.
But I think they can manage to have a headphone Jack even with waterproofing.

The s7edge is good but the ui is kind of ugly it isnt like the note 7 or v20.

if I am an app developer I would be utilising that big navbar space on android; designing a quick navbar swipe to the left/right for switching b/w different customisable toggle/shortcut; something which apple dont have (on-screen navbar) and can be a big selling point for future androids
but right now I can only hope
You can put whatever app shortcuts you want on the second screen once you unlock the device with fingerprint. He is either wrong, or talking about when phone is locked.
I dont know whether android has a customisable navbar apps or not
so far I am using :
Muviz
Navbar Apps
Softkeyz (root)
on MM 6.0.1 Gravitybox (root)
but none has a way to make a new navbar space
I picked up a V20 to use while my Note was in the shop for repair. I am now using the Lg in place of the note. Lg setup is alot nicer in my opinion.
Cheers
I bought the perfine battery but the 10000mah battery
I've been using this phone for nearly two years and I feel no reason to replace it with another phone. Everything works just fine and never fails to deliver.
Removable battery makes this phone 100% worthy
i love being able to keep my phone for more than 24 months and being able to replace the batteries myself for $20 and it takes 30 seconds to do so
no new Galaxy or iPhone can do that
@@22chachalaca the third party ones are pretty good. I change them out yearly just cuz I'm kinda addicted to my phone
@American Freedom World Peace Looking back at this 3 years old comment (and I still have the v20)... well, let's say the screen burning + the removable battery make this phone 60% worthy. Raise that to 70% if you take in consideration the cheap prices by buying it refurbished
This phone looks SO much nicer than all the weird Notch phones of 2019
This is actually the first mainstream phone to have notch of sorts
@@patrickpenick3637 Kinda, but the notch is located above the main screen, with the matching black secondary screen. Soo i pop out soo much less and dosen't interfere with the main screen.
Please do a review of all your Tesla's most cool features
I don't know if anyone commented for this already but and extra screen at the top can be modified to change the apps. to remove one of the apps you just hold it down and then move it to the removed section on the screen. to add another at you just highlight that you want and dragged it into the empty space. so that section at the top of the screen of the LG v20 is customizable
so after all the trouble my Note 7 gave me, first the recall then getting a loaner phone and then after all that also tracking down a replacement Note 7. Now the safe Note 7 having issues I'm gonna have to part with samsung this year and go with the V20.

Not have sd821 but sd820
One word. Bootloop.
yeah i bought a g4 but with fear with the bootloop. so far so good
but lg just appears to ignore this problem
how long ago did you buy it?
whats the meaning of bootloop ? please tell me because i'm considering of buying an LG V20
december 2015, if this phone bootloops on me and lg just just ignores my pleas then i will be done with lg. but all i can say is that for now the phone has been amazing.
i bought it unlocked btw.

I can charge my a battery at home while I'm at work, and stitch when I get home.
it's not underrated, LG is just stupid with marketing, I'm still getting the phone, been interested in it before the announcement last month, but god LG is TERRIBLE with marketing the thing.
true I hardly see any lg advertisements
If they are going to market it better, the device will be either more expensive or it will have a cutdown in specs, or build quality, whatever. marketing costs a lot of money, so be happy that lg is putting most money into the phone itself.
I don't know, that LG G5 Jason Stathom commercial was hilarious and more than likely helped sell the units.
Bas Bastiaansen
so let me get this straight...I understand what you mean, but why take the time to develop and make the phone if no one knows about it...you know how many people see my G flex 2 and have no idea what it is and think my phone is broken.
I just come back every once in a while just to remember how good LG phones were 🥲

Plus the IR blaster turns it into my handy remote for several items. Nothing on the market compairs with it. The only minor drawback is screen burn in. You will see ghost images of last things on the screen. However unless something comes close to it I won't be changing anytime soon
BRING IT TO CANADA
The V10 wasn't released in Canada, otherwise I would have bought that instead of the HTC 10
watching this on my v20
watching on my g5
Noice me too
For those burned by the note 7 (literally and figuratively) this is probably the phone to get as a replacement.
I have a replacement note7, but will prob get it replaced with this

My thoughts exactly
WHO ARE YOU?
Funny seeing this now. Nov 2019 and I'm watching this on the V20.
Got a new battery and dont see a need to get a new phone.
@@MAdilK Amazon. But my V20 finally died a few weeks ago. I got a new phone. Samsung Galaxy A20 I think.
what headphone you are able to drive is determined by the amplifier. de fuq does the DAC have to do with that??????????????
ikr?
hahaha! yeah.. but I think apart from the quad DAC, it has built in ampifier, too? idk.. but one thing i know is that this phone can drive high impedance headphones, which is a good thing!
Just bought this phone in 2018, can not wait for it to arrive!
