Maybe, still it would be nice IF it would take a nice picture in manual mode (like other older/cheaper phones) as we don't always have time to tweak the settings when out and about before the moment is gone.

***** Okay? I like to do my editing in Final Cut Pro X. I use a V10 and it's quite useful. Good thing there's RAW and a Jpg toggle. The auto mode sucks. So I'm planning to get the V20 for better overall picture quality, durability, and RAW support. I'm in love with the manual mode.
Excellent review, as always Juan! I have had the V20 for about a week now and had come from a Note 7. I have not looked back ever since I got the V20 (and I still have the note 7 just in case I didn't like the V20), even camera-wise as I was thoroughly satisfied before with the Note 7. There definitely feels like there's A LOT more control on this camera than the Note 7 had. The Auto mode is definitely a disappointment comparing to the Samsung, but the manual mode is where it starts to actually perform seemingly better than the Note 7 (I did comparison shots for the first few days), giving a somewhat of a 'DSLR' feel like what my usual Canon 7D can do. The only thing I wish there was available on this LG was some kind of screen calibration option... The screen displays things in a slightly cooler temperature than how the actual camera and just everything else on the phone seems to display, and when transferring photos to computer or sending photos to another person, they appear a bit different than they did on my V20. I think the slight inaccuracy of the photo comparing to the real life colors, may be because of that. It is a bit difficult trying to take shots and adjust settings accordingly when your display may not be portraying the photo preview correctly. Think LG can update the camera software and display to optimize it a little better? Or will we have to wait for a so called "V30"? Another note though I do like much better on the V20 than the Note 7 is the true sharpness! Photos actually appear sharp and more true instead of having this annoying post-processing effect that iPhones and Samsung phones typically have; Especially when doing a 100% zoom on the photo.

I would really love to see a camera and audio comparison against the v10 because the v10 is now so cheap I can buy one for close to £150 which is crazy. Shifu Matt No I went back to my studio mic for the VO on the axon video. its tough to gauge "worth", but the V10 is still a formidable option imo. just know it's kinda slow, gets terrible battery life, and likely won't get a ton of software support.
Shifu Matt I've had a V10 for just over a year now and the phone comes with a few issues: first off, make sure you get a 2nd or 3rd batch phone made in 2016 as the earlier models suffer from the bootloop issue as the G4s did. 2nd the LCD tech that LG uses picks up a lot of screen ghosting after 6 or so months (I've experienced this both of my original and my 2nd replacement V10), 3rd the phones microphones aren't that great, but can be supplanted with a 3.5mm mic adapter if you so wish. As for it being slow as Juan said, I honestly don't see ANY meaningful difference in speed compared to my best friend's S7E or my girlfriends new iPhone 7.

Wow that experiment with the axon probably did more to show me the capabilities than the review itself did. I didn't expect you were using anything different in that Axon video. It's given me a lot more confidence in the camera on this phone I'm holding in my hand right now. V20 is great.

indeed . I have used the v10 for about a year now . Starting off with auto for the first few months and I was already impressed. Put it to manual in low light situations. My friends called me a photographer on the trip because basically I was the only one able to take these low light photos

Having used a pre-release and a retail V20, I think it's always a good idea (for any phone) to avoid buying during pre-sale. Less exciting, but you'll see more honest conversation about potential issues.

neosrt10 the slowmo is the only place where the V20 lacks. all the other camera features are excellent. and yes, theoretically a firmware update could improve the slowmo performance.

I don't see how notifications appearing are a deal breaker when snapping pics. If you have your phone set up in a tripod and are doing photo sets you are going to put it into airplane mode anyway. Or if you are recording in general for TH-cam or whatever else.
I only use full manual mode thats why I loved V10 and now V20, I never used auto mode [green box lol] unless if I gave it to someone to take a picture, so yeah V20 is the phone I'm looking for
Settings/Developer Options/ Tick on "Force GPU Rendering" makes an Android phone smoother/snappier, if root available try L Speed/Entropy/fstrim apps found on the Play Store! LG G5 & LG V20 both are snappy beasts. Also highly anticipated in 2016.

We've been talking about that. We're not quite sure HOW we want to try and test battery life, especially because it takes so long to test. For now, we're going to keep those benches simple, but we are looking at how to expand on that part of our reviews.
There is dual LED flash? I thought it was only one, while the other one is a color sensor. My sister's G4 only has one LED flash, but you'd think it has two
