This was such an underrated phone. Probably one of the last phones to have a removable battery, has great audio, and a great alternative to the Note 7.
Yeah, a few friends have it, and they've been suggesting it. Finally caved! It's been incredible, so far in the week and a half that I've had it. I do miss the V20s audio capabilities, but that's it.
Yahya Rahman Really? Couldn't it be because there's a class action lawsuit against LG? No to mention that the V20 is included in that list. www.girardgibbs.com/lg-g4-bootloop-class-action-lawsuit/
When I bought V20, most of my friends and colleagues were like 'dude! what phone is it!!! ' LG is kind of infamous for their poor marketing. Same goes for Sony.
I had my V20 around audio and video professionals (and not the youtube kind - the high production kind) and the V20's wide angle helped us completely change camera placement and made a shoot work. The phone blew them away. Even the people at my office ask me about the phone because of what they see me do with it and my confidence when I use it.
@@funnyfoodreviews the comment is old, i know, but the v20 is way better for video. depending on who you ask, an s7 (especially with zerocamera mod installed) is better for photo. wide-angle is cool on the v20 though
Skyler Hernandez Same here, i watch all Juans videos as i love smartphone cameras, it just shows how far camera have come in the last few years, remember the 2mp camera on the first iPhone??

Liked before watching and didn't have to take it back. The V20 has been my favorite phone out of any I've owned. I'm getting the Hyperion 6400mAh extended battery for longer days outside. I love that we have a phone that still gives us the option to add some functionality to our devices. I wholeheartedly agree on the update side of things though. Didn't realize just how far behind the V20 was until I watched a recent comparison with the Pixel and saw the software version number.
I originally purchased the LG Stylo. The port wore out, so I recharged battery in a wall charger. Then the plastic back cracked. All I wanted was a metal back. The LG V20 turned out to be a dream! It fixed all the flaws the Stylo had. The best by far is the global dual sim H990ds model. Durable metal backplate, removable battery, C charging port, great camera, great audio... this device is a dream!
Not gonna lie. Once i saw that some of your reviews were shot on the v20 it immediately sold the phone to me. Have it now and don't regret it in any way.
And whats the big deal with all the security patches? Its not like phones get malware or viruses much really. And without actually rooting it, malware cant do much of anything.
Love the v20. Removable battery, really impressive dac, great camera, ir blaster.. Im afraid its going to be the last flagship that has all of the features I really like. Im keeping v20 as long as I can.
i've had my lg v20 for about 5 months now after switching from an iPhone 6S. i love it! somehow it made a smooth transition to the unknown for me. as much as i love my v20, i'm probably gonna switch back to an iPhone when it's upgrade time
I use this phone mostly as replacement DAC. It drives amazingly my sets of expensive headphones so well that it is really hard to believe such high quality music it's coming from a phone. With the removable battery and couple of spare ones with charging kit I always have extra juice to keep playing my favourite tunes on all my travels. Thanks to this LG V20 I saved nearly couple thousand dollars on a similar quality DAC that could not make phone calls and less lasting battery. An happy LG user here.
I had a G3 back in the day and I missed it when I sold it. The V20 looks amazing and has all the things I loved about the G3 and more. Just need to get an extended battery.

JuanBagnell currently using the v20 and it's great! I also own the the LG's battery kit bck 5200. This combo is killer! I hope they don't loose removable battery with v30.

I bought a V20 on 20th of December, 2017 - one year after the release. I Badly wanted this phone after seeing many reviews on V20. It the gadget which I ever hold on!
Sp Wr bruh not all lg phones boot loop had a g3 g5 and now the v20 and I have abused all of them and the only thing that went wrong with the g3 and g5 is I broke the screen.
Great video. I left the iPhone 7+ and purchased the LG V20 and I love my phone. Hopefully LG will get it right in the marketing department and do more promotions on their next LG (V30) phone. 😊
We all have personal reasons for picking a phone. Back in December after a bit of research, I sat at the checkout with a boxed S7 Edge. The clerk said the V20 was a better phone and talked me into switching. I'm really glad she did.
I've been super satisfied with my V20. It's led to me becoming one of "those people" who constantly have their phone to take photos and especially record video. My only criticism is that LG, like most other manufacturers, does not care all that much about their unlocked devices. My unlocked variant of the V20 is on the December security patch and 7.0. At the prices this phone is going for nowadays, both used and new, you'd be doing yourselves a huge favor if you check this phone out before any 2017 flagships. Once you hop on the removable battery bandwagon, there's no getting off.
Completely honest, you are the reason to choose this phone and have it right now. A powerful masterpiece! The last month i was searching for a new smartphone after 4 years with my HTC One M7 which was one my fave. From my 2 weeks now with LgV20 i am extemely happy to own this phone.
Yet another stellar review Juan, well done. But you do nail the answer to a great question that manufacturers have not yet answered for Android (maybe a bit except with the Pixel or Px/Mate x): Software and not hardware create a great experience when using the phone. Hopefully they will start answering to that, regardless of how much i always drool after my S7 Edge and S8+.
I'm from Denmark ordered from Hongkong as well - no phone had what I wanted but the V20. Removable battery a must, jackstick, SD micro card and that pretty much was my 3 main concerns.
I can tell you that Since the LG G4 all LG phone has become unbelievably underrated. However, when you first got a hand on it, you are absolutely speechless for how light and comfortable it is in hand regardless of how it looks.
I have loved this phone. I had an issue with half of the screen going out and LG got I back to me in 3 days. I might be an LG guy for life if they keep going this direction.
All of your review on LG cell phones has led me to want to purchase this phone. I think I might watch a few more reviews on this phone then make the purchase. Thank you for all your awesome reviews on the LG cell phones on the market.
Same thing I said when I had my V10. It eventually experienced the bootloop a year after I bought it. And then the replacement went through the same four months later. If you have the V10, the bootlloop WILL happen eventually. So don't be surprised when it does.
JuanBagnell I would never have known about the V series if it wasn't for your Camera and Audio reviews. REALLY LOVE YOUR AUDIO REVIEW GAME it means a lot for musicholics (like me)
Been debating whether or not to buy this the last 3 months. There are currently 3 issues circling the V20, tho I dont know just how widespread they are. 1.Bootloops (LG fruitylicious) 2. Camera glass breakage. 3. External speaker either blowing out or audio suddenly becomes distorted even at low volumes (sounds like line out shorted terminals).
Bruce Wrigleys Gumchewz I've see a video here in TH-cam before that if you removed the glass covering the main glass of the camera lens of the v20 then you'll have that camera glass issue, if you haven't removed it, then you're on to go. But if you want added protection, just go get a case.
These phones are user friendly when it comes to DIY service. I own two of them and remain amazed at how rugged and yet easy these phones are to own. Batteries are quick change, I keep spares charged, ready to go, using a separate charger to keep the spares topped off. I accidentally washed and dried my first one in the laundry, discovered when I was taking the clothes out of the dryer. The touch screen wouldn't work correctly but was an easy swap. My prior phones were iPhone and Sony Xperia.
If it had a BIN at the end of the video, he would sell one on every view as this is the most convincing and honest review about such underrated mobile phone.
Got my v20 and one of the best phones I've ever had, no problems, and I have a extra battery so I get through the whole np. Can't wait for the v40. Gonna keep this phone for a while.
I bought this phone based on the reviews from you guys, I'm happy with my choice! Keep up the awesome reviews, especially the 'real camera review' series
I hope they stay true to the v-series with removable batteries, etc., and not fall under what new phones are doing with no headphone jacks and all that
I always can't understand what you actually want to say about v20. yes this phone has great audio dac. But can it beat pixel xl in photography? or can it beat iphone 7 plus in videography? what about video stabilization. is it the best out there? yes manual control is great but most of us will not spend 5 mins before taking a photo
Tanveer Ahmed Saurov i mean he did mention that he used it to record 4k videos on the channel and no one ever noticed. Smart phone cameras have improved so much that really you cant go wrong with getting a pixel, iPhone, Galaxy, or the lg v20
Tanveer Ahmed Saurov youre not the person the v20 is geared towards. if you want it to just be a click away from good photos and videos then other phones will beat out the auto mode one the v20. for content creators or hobbyists though, the v20 on manual mode will vastly outclass all other phones. there just hasnt been the kind of control on a phone camera like this before and it doesn't seem like the other companies are worried about manual mode either. id say any phone coming out this year or late last year will be great for you but if you care more about water resistance and auto mode than removable batteries and options when creating content then go with an s8 or iphone.
Drew No one on this channel ever wants to talk about the stabilization issues with the V20 (insufficient OIS, but bad EIS). It's primarily what kept me from immediately buying two. Then again, the stabilization on the S8 and S8+ aren't exactly wowing me, either.
Tanveer Ahmed Saurov auto mode = good results. manual mode in the hands of a professional = unrivalled results. clearly this is not meant for you. letting the program to dictate the outcome of the contents of videos/photos is just bad for those who truly cares about the qualities. but for the average users, they'll be happy with just 1 button press for good auto mode hdr pictures of other phones on the market. unless you learn what manual modes does for the photography/videography world, you'll never appreciate the v20 like most professionals do. one might argue, a professional shouldnt be using a phone to create his contents anyway, but this phone is just as capable as Juan's professional Cameras as proven by the videos shot by the v20 in his previous videos since his camera died. not to mention this phone's audio capability is insane, both capturing/playback.
It actually fairs pretty well against those phones. It does have its downsides. Check out Krystal Key's channel. She has a nice camera review of all 3 of these phones. And shes also a cutie too ... ehhhh heh
I heard that on XDA. I dont know if its true or if LG just doesnt want to fess up that a few of their phones actually did exhibit the bootloop behavior and was NOT a fault of the cable?? I mean.... how many V20's has this been reported on? It might just be a few stray units. I know its nothing like what happened with the G4. lol holy that was an epidemic like Samsucks C4.. errr Note 7
I got my v20 yesterday and I am very happy with it. I've seen all the renders that are out,and if the v30 kills off the removable battery and ir blaster and headphone jack the price of the v20 will skyrocket. Sooner or later the trend to remove features that many people want, just to appease the Samsung/Apple fans will stop, especially if reviewers like yourself stop preaching for it. This phone is a beast, and those who insist that it be less are just out of touch with reality. These people just don't know how good this phone really is,and don't know how to utilize it's features.
Still Rocking my LG V10. Still working great good battery life still and no boot loop issues. have seen to many vids on the V30 about what people are saying it will have this and that but every one is saying something diffrent.
Your voice tone literally made me feel like the V20 is really a some kind of kind monster which is hated by the society, but within its heart its capable enough to do some good for the humankind. Wow. Will surely pick one up if get within my affordable price range. 😍
I have recorded close to 100 hours of music, since I got the phone in October. 24\192 recorded music, played through an HD 650 (or any other high impedance HP), is breathtakingly good. Playing it through my endgame home theater system, is just jaw dropping incredible. I hear many things I didn't hear live. It's microphones are better then my own ears.
I use my LG V20 mostly Friday - Sunday. The camera is great for when I'm out and want to get a great shot of something. Also I have fallen in love with the wide angle selfie and rear lenses.. so useful !
Mr. Riko Hermansyah my is not, love the screen, but I do love the v20, removable battery and something I really like ( ir blaster ), but no waterproof it was a deal breaker for me, just like the Htc 10
yep, i do love it bro, but some of it has yellowish color screen, but i still love it, and then about waterproofed phone, nah i just like using my phone on land not in the water, LOL.
Or disgruntled V20 owners... like myself. I have a V20 that I'm about to take back to get a second warranty replacement. This one lasted a couple months longer than the first one. I'm getting temporary screen burn in and 1-2 hours of screen on time.
I just got the replacement last week and when I took it in and finished the LG backup process, the battery read 53% on the old phone. I put the same battery directly into the new device and it registered 22%. I'm now on my third V20 handset. That's 2 lemons. At a certain point you wonder if there's a difference between bad luck and a shit device. LOL I'd gladly go back to a recalled Note 7 and roll the dice at this point.
Bad luck, sorry mine is alright, and im enjoying my new k7xx with phone which shitty overrated s7 s8 sammy couldnt do that. Im not lg fanboy, but this phone is a beast for sure, and im not going to change my phone till there's another beast phone come out. I like sammy, but only note series
V20 user here. Totally loving it and can't see myself using another phone without the quad-dac. I use IEMs and an Audio Technica ATH-M50x. Both of those sounds pretty damn perfect on the V20. I also owns a mirrorless camera. But after getting the V20. I see myself bringing my camera out less. Because the camera on the V20 is super useful, adding in with the side angle lens. This phone really can produce some pretty awesome photos. With features like removable battery, micro SD expansion and a pretty respectable display. Overall a really very good gadget 👍
I'm so sad that this is the last flagship that has a removable battery. Most of the time, the only problem I have with my is battery. Now that most smartphones have nonremovable batteries, I have to buy another phone just because the battery is not good anymore.
I just got this phone. 2 years after it was released based on all the reviews like this one. I am switching from iPhone X to android and this phone is a perfect one to switch to. I do not know where LG went after this phone, but it should have sold a lot more. Still kills it after 2 years. Also, running on Oreo which is nice.
the v20 is still the best phone to date. solid, well build and a powerful sound system when plugging in headphones..beautiful screen with camera options..the v20 is the king.

Norskebanan huge complaint from me on most "premium" options. I want more reliable updates.
Alex Moise it's like we can't ever get both great software and compelling hardware...
love how you guys continue after the buzz
This phone should've been sold in Europe. I feel like LG keep on failing on their approach to phones :/
MarconiTeknoCAE region restrictions like that are dumb.
MarconiTeknoCAE I'm european,i live in Europe,and i have a V20.F*** y** LG,jajajaja..
However, when you first got a hand on it, you are absolutely speechless for how light and comfortable it is in hand regardless of how it looks.
watching this on my v20
I have loved this phone. I had an issue with half of the screen going out and LG got I back to me in 3 days. I might be an LG guy for life if they keep going this direction.
I'm still rocking my v10 works great
Dee Black My V10 is still a tank.
Dee Black V10 toughest phone I've ever owned. Fell 30 ft onto gravel, popped apart, snapped right back together with barely a scratch.
My v10 falls literally everyday, still going strong. Maybe not a tank in terms of battery performance, no updates, still love this puppy.
Juan should feature a lot more in this channel, what an amazing, amazing reviewer, his voice only just keeps me in the vídeo until the end.
Chopper Wolfpack 🙂
love my v20
All of your review on LG cell phones has led me to want to purchase this phone. I think I might watch a few more reviews on this phone then make the purchase. Thank you for all your awesome reviews on the LG cell phones on the market.
watching this on my V10... no complaints here.
MuvoTX my V10 is such a tank.
Yeah mine too, runs like a champ. I guess we got lucky as far as the boot loop thing goes.
Same thing I said when I had my V10. It eventually experienced the bootloop a year after I bought it. And then the replacement went through the same four months later. If you have the V10, the bootlloop WILL happen eventually. So don't be surprised when it does.
Just bought a second one. €295 at the moment. It's a no brainer. Awesome phone, just with the battery was better.
so what did we learn?
OUR FAVOURITE REVIEWER RELIED ON THIS PHONE AND SET IT AS A STANDARD.
Still hard to understand? BUY IT BRO!
LOL I was trying not to yell that when recording this.
Bruce Wrigleys Gumchewz boom there you go evidence... its just negative propaganda 😉
My prior phones were iPhone and Sony Xperia.
omg i 100000000% agree with this video
C.Y Changhee yoon ☺️
If it had a BIN at the end of the video, he would sell one on every view as this is the most convincing and honest review about such underrated mobile phone.
I have a v20 and I don't want to change for a new lg g6 or the galaxy s8
It's a beast :-)
This was your best review. So well crafted
I have the V20. Great camera! but missing my note 7! patiently waiting on NOTE 8!!!
Erick Yanez refurbished Note 7 is being released but not available in the US. Battery has been reduced as well.
Lindt Br I heard of these rumors. I just can't wait. can this be official pls????
Erick Yanez that makes 2 of us
Erick Yanez I hate my V20. About to get my second warranty exchange... Battery life is shit.
MistPassiert I had to get mine replaced 2 weeks after I got it because the speaker went out... Can't wait to get my hands on the Note 8!
Got my v20 and one of the best phones I've ever had, no problems, and I have a extra battery so I get through the whole np. Can't wait for the v40. Gonna keep this phone for a while.
I agree 100% I love my v20
I bought this phone based on the reviews from you guys, I'm happy with my choice! Keep up the awesome reviews, especially the 'real camera review' series
I hope they stay true to the v-series with removable batteries, etc., and not fall under what new phones are doing with no headphone jacks and all that
Fingers crossed, but I worry that the G6 will be the direction we head for batteries and losing the IR blaster.
You did not hope enough I guess. I still rather have the v20 even tho I could easily get the v30. Removeable battery is a must-have.
Still have this phone in 2021 and still loving it.
Drew
No one on this channel ever wants to talk about the stabilization issues with the V20 (insufficient OIS, but bad EIS).
And shes also a cutie too ... ehhhh heh
Love this phone and have recently taken April security updates. Gave my old Note Edge to my teenager.
If only v20 have stylus it would be the perfect phone
John Spotto An integrated solution would be ideal.
Victor LG Style V2 is a bit old and still bested by the Note5
Victor LG Style V2 is a bit old and still bested by the Note5
John Spotto I'm going on the basis of an integrated stylus
Mr. Duck Ahem *Note 4*
Watching this on my V20 and loving it.
Jason Johnson ☺️
I'd like to see huawei jump onboard with a better dac for audio
Jerad Johnson I really wish Huawei would improve there. the Leica camera game is super strong.
I just bought this 📱 on offer up not long before having bought the fly G6 but already this one my baby
Get the 4200 Mah battery and you don't have to replace the back cover, the get a 256 memory card and if you haven't already update to 8.0 Oreo
Boot Loop proof? Like my G3 or what
Well obviously my V20's haven't...
I hope so. Im really considering getting one..ive had my S4 far too long and im really impressed with V20's audio/video capabilities and cpu specs.
JuanBagnell heard LG say something about cheap Usb c cables causing some V20 phone to bootloop how on earth is The Oneplus 3t charger cheap?
I heard that on XDA. I dont know if its true or if LG just doesnt want to fess up that a few of their phones actually did exhibit the bootloop behavior and was NOT a fault of the cable?? I mean.... how many V20's has this been reported on? It might just be a few stray units. I know its nothing like what happened with the G4. lol holy that was an epidemic like Samsucks C4.. errr Note 7
Bruce Wrigleys Gumchewz Just Googlw Lg Bootloop Lawsuits its quite a few
I got my v20 yesterday and I am very happy with it.
I've seen all the renders that are out,and if the v30 kills off the removable battery and ir blaster and headphone jack the price of the v20 will skyrocket.
Sooner or later the trend to remove features that many people want, just to appease the Samsung/Apple fans will stop, especially if reviewers like yourself stop preaching for it.
This phone is a beast, and those who insist that it be less are just out of touch with reality. These people just don't know how good this phone really is,and don't know how to utilize it's features.
watching on my v10
Still Rocking my LG V10. Still working great good battery life still and no boot loop issues. have seen to many vids on the V30 about what people are saying it will have this and that but every one is saying something diffrent.
finally!! now let's spam lg with this video and hope that they giveus software update! at the very least... the security patch...
Ordered my V20, hoping it won't have any issues and still lives up to its potential!
Watching on my V20 and it's an awesome phone!
Ashwath Raveendra same here :)
Your voice tone literally made me feel like the V20 is really a some kind of kind monster which is hated by the society, but within its heart its capable enough to do some good for the humankind. Wow. Will surely pick one up if get within my affordable price range. 😍
Nooruddin Musayib mission accomplished then 😉
Yeah, u deserve some 'pickle' for that. 😂
Galaxy s6 still need some love..... I still have it and I don't want to upgrade to s8
Jakari Porter have it too. my battery is dreadful though. I get about 1 hour screen on time.
I can barely get any battery life bro
You can only have about 11 hours on it
Jakari Porter It doesn't it's aweful. Battery life is abysmal and performance sucks.
But the best way to save your battery is airplane mode
I have recorded close to 100 hours of music, since I got the phone in October. 24\192 recorded music, played through an HD 650 (or any other high impedance HP), is breathtakingly good. Playing it through my endgame home theater system, is just jaw dropping incredible. I hear many things I didn't hear live. It's microphones are better then my own ears.
Dartin Bout seriously good performer. it feels like such a step down moving to other phones.
Why do LG hate Europe?
I dunno man. Regional restrictions like this are lame.
I use my LG V20 mostly Friday - Sunday. The camera is great for when I'm out and want to get a great shot of something. Also I have fallen in love with the wide angle selfie and rear lenses.. so useful !
MasteredTheUniverse super flexible
indeed, but S8 stole my heart with its screen..
Mr. Riko Hermansyah
yes but yellowish color.
yeah, what can i say, but still, samsung done a great job that makes other company think about next inovation.
Mr. Riko Hermansyah my is not, love the screen, but I do love the v20, removable battery and something I really like
( ir blaster ), but no waterproof it was a deal breaker for me, just like the Htc 10
yep, i do love it bro, but some of it has yellowish color screen, but i still love it, and then about waterproofed phone, nah i just like using my phone on land not in the water, LOL.
ji p i like the ir blaster for the gym when the tv has some annoy ing news
awesome video Juan!! LOVE the V20!!! nice i hope V30 will have ALL V20 features and G6!
3 dislike from poor sammy fanboy
Reki Agiseptana lg g6 was a shit phone.too bad it couldnt stand against the mighty s8..😂
Or disgruntled V20 owners... like myself. I have a V20 that I'm about to take back to get a second warranty replacement. This one lasted a couple months longer than the first one. I'm getting temporary screen burn in and 1-2 hours of screen on time.
That's NOT good. Sorry you got a lemon.
Great re-review, like many watched on my LG V20! That kickstand is pretty keen Juan, might try and purchase. Excellent word selection btw.
yes, it is an absolute beast i had it for 4 monthes and its amazing👍👍 nice video
What are you SERIOUS, all video was on on that V20,what a Monster she is.AWESOMEEEEEE!!!
Just got mine yesterday. LOVE it!
Great multimedia device. Amazing DAC with a removable battery and IR blaster... I love it.
Still rocking my V20. Great phone!!!
Tay Zhao Yu yeah, with those cans the V20 would be right up your ally 🙂
Bought this phone 2 weeks ago and I am very pleased with my decision. Excellent phone.
Xhale glad you're enjoying it ☺️
I'm so sad that this is the last flagship that has a removable battery. Most of the time, the only problem I have with my is battery. Now that most smartphones have nonremovable batteries, I have to buy another phone just because the battery is not good anymore.
I got a V20 instead of a G6 because of this review. I don't regret it.
I just got this phone. 2 years after it was released based on all the reviews like this one. I am switching from iPhone X to android and this phone is a perfect one to switch to. I do not know where LG went after this phone, but it should have sold a lot more. Still kills it after 2 years. Also, running on Oreo which is nice.
the LG v20 camera is great like I have said in the past I haven't noticed that the reviews were any different
the v20 is still the best phone to date. solid, well build and a powerful sound system when plugging in headphones..beautiful screen with camera options..the v20 is the king.
Buying one tonight. Upgrading from my G4. Thanks for the review.
Great After the Buzz video! You just fell in love with the V20.
Maria Elena Cabrera I get excited when a manufacturer targets a specific market and then really delivers what they claim.
