I'm not a gacha player but ZZZ definitely got me hooked into the game, technically this is my first hoyo game but people keep saying they hate Z3 I seriously have no idea why, I like the TV mechanic its enjoyable some of the TV mechanics you actually have to think and I enjoy puzzle its a unique puzzle for me, the fight combo is satisfying especially when you manage to combo with all include bangboo, I,m an mmorpg gamer Z3 felt like Warframe when its first release where all the mission are instances and to me this is where Z3 shine it have lots of room to expand and grow, if you start a game based on open world the game can't grow because it has pretty much what other game has nothing new, nothing unique but Z3 have the uniqueness it also have the room to grow for someone like me who play Warframe for 10 years I can see Z3 become one of the best gacha games in the market, if people say I should play genshin impact or wuwa I watched people play it never got me attracted because I play tons of open world mmos, to me if a game have an open world but no one to interact with will feels like a dead mmos where you only interact with npc this is why I don't play genshin or wuwa, if they decide to remove TV then people like me would quit I already have a tons of game with open world element and fancy battle system like Black Desert or Lost Ark why would I want to play another game with the same element? This is my honest point from someone who play Z3 as their first hoyo game.
ZZZ is a breath of fresh air for me in the gacha market. It feels like a game Hoyo would make before genshin came out, and a spiritual successor to HI3(I know it’s still getting big updates, but you get what I mean). I've put in a lot of time and money into HI3(well over 1000hrs) and this game reminds quite a bit of it(minus the very dramtic story tone differences), and that definitely means that the game is probably going to have some growing pains. The game is definitely trying to be it’s own thing seperate from other hoyo game troupes(besides it being part of the imaginary tree) and that is a good thing. They are not using template character designs(genshin and star rail do this ALOT). They have surprising hiphop?/rap?/dubstep? soundtrack(even more surprising when you remember this is chinese game. That's not often seen there) instead of a orchestra based ost(don'tget me wrong genshin and Hsr have really good ost, it'sjust nice to have verity). And they're making a more lowkey story that doesn't take it self too seriously(so far at least. We know how gacha games get). The combat that people complain is too simple, still need to keep in mind that it's new and underdeveloped. No one is in the end game proper yet and all the games that they're comparing it started the same(genshin, hi3, pgr, ect.). I mean genshin meta literally started out as pumping as much attack power and crit into one character, not even considering reactions. Let the game grow and turn into a proper game The tv mode is definitely can be polarizing to alot of people. I personally don't have a problem with it, but I can see why people dislike. I could see this being somewhat but not entirely mitigated somewhat if the animations where faster(without fastfoward mode on) and the camera was zoomed out more by default. The sidequests are also super nice and simple. It's just go meet guy, they ask you to do X thing(usally fight some hollows) and then you fight them and you get the rewards without having to speak them again after. And you can stack up a whole bunch of side quests and when you go back to the video store you just complete them super quickly one after the other in like 10 mins. It nice to have a side quest that feels like a SIDE quest(looking at you genshin with multi hour long sidequests with too much dialogue) My actual concerns and problems with this game lie with games rewards, and grinding for matierals -I noticed while playing that in game we are not getting many polychromes from story, side quests, and weekly content, and that we might be relying on events to fill the quota. It currently doesn't feel that way right now, but that is mainly to do with fact we are getting alot of free stuff just for logging in because it's the launch of the game. But once that is all collected and spent, I'm concerned what our weekly payout is going to be and how thay will effects our ability to save for future characters we want. Star rail was abale to get around thus problem for the most part by having puzzles, chests, and secrets all around the world, but zzz barely has reward chests and they don't give much. This will most likely be fixed in the future with gamemodes they add in the future, but as it stands it doesn't seem great -my other issue is the stamina. There is not enough stamina, and doesn't recharge fast enough, especially considering the high stamina cost of all matieral grinding and discs grinding. 60 free stamina from the coffee everyday is nice, but I could see the small amount of stamina greatly effecting fun and enjoyment the daily grind. They either need to increase the rate it recharges, the max capacity of stamina, or add a overflow function similar to star rail. Main take away from this is that it's a new game and it hasn't even had to chance to grow into something crazier and bigger. I personally really enjoy it and give it good 7.5/10, but if the game isn't your cup of tea, that's completely fine(just don’t calling it a bad game cause you didn't vibe with it)
Wow this was actually a really well thought out analysis of the game. I didn't mention it in the video cause I hadnt noticed it but you are absolutely correct about the stamina. Everything is SO EXPENSIVE and its gonna make building characters take FOREVER. I feel like even just making the daily coffee give more stamina would be enough. Maybe instead of 60 extra it could give 120. When it comes to the currency we can earn, its a tough topic imo. I think since the world is so small and dense, they will probably spread premium currency rewards among the many side quest and events. I figure that since this game isn't open world like Genshin or Wuwa and it uses the TV system to navigate story missions, they can focus more on things like quest design and unique events to dish out rewards and keep things fresh. Thanks for the comment!
I feel like if this game came out before WuWa there wouldnt be much hate. Also people gotta realize that Hoyo games always start out easy as hell then they start getting experimental with character mechanics and boss designs. Overall great video very fair judgments with good explanations.
