Seeing Dr. Lydia cry over suffering horses that need the last act of kindness speaks volumes to me about where her heart is. God bless all the awesome staff at HPHS.
I am so proud and grateful to Horse Plus for not just rescuing locally but also spreading awareness and help to other rescues around the world. I feel my donations are well spent. Good luck in DC!
First, Tawnee, you should be VERY PROUD of the brochures!!! So professional and you obviously listened and learned from your last DC trip! What a great job! Can't wait to checkout the website!! To everyone else, you are HEROS! There are no words of appreciation good enough!!! Dr. Lydia, you have always had my heart since the fist time I watched you. We are all so very blessed you are now here full-time! Dr. Gina, can't wait to get to know you better...you seem lovely as well. THANK YOU ALL 💗💞🐎 ~Janice
When Dr. Lydia cries, you know that there is no hope for the horse she is examining will be able to be saved. Thank you for letting them become out of pain. Sometimes the last act of kindness is all you have left. You are heroes.
How can people see horses like this and not think they are in pain and need help?? To be 2.5 and be that bad is horrible!!!!I purchased a horse 4 yrs ago who was to be 10 and broke but she was 4 green and pregnant!!! Bod bless your team!!!
I just want to thank (in particular) Dr Lydia and Dr Gina. It's awesome how Dr Lydia explains things and says "Dr Gina and Caitlin did...". It would be so easy to say "we" but she gives credit where it's due. Also they are both so compassionate. It can't be easy to see what they are seeing. My aunt and uncle are vets, my uncle working for the university and running a university vet hospital also (in Australia). They saw some horrible stuff, particularly with pig hunting dogs, but even they have said they could never do what these vets are doing. I'm glad that Horse Plus is in a position to be able to finance vets so these animals get all the treatment and dignity that they deserve
I can see how rescue burnout can occur. I hope you can provide emotional support to the staff. It must be unbelievable difficult to do the right thing so often and adminster the last act of kindness when no one else would. We watch it, you guys live it. Thank you for doing the right thing, even when it often ends in tears.
I hope that this time these graceful horses get the protection from abuse act because our horses need to be protected from abuse and they need respect and love
I just want to say thank you to the 2 vets and vet assistant! You ladies are invaluable in my eyes and you did all the hard work and studying for the right reasons....my dream was to be a veterinarian. Ive had vets in my life that did it for the money and that's not the right reason. Once again, thank you ladies!
Thank you Tawnee and Jason for bringing the horses' plight to the public and now to legislators. It's so important and so necessary. That you just keep going is so encouraging.
I love that y’all don’t just talk the talk, but walk the walk!! Thank you for fighting for the rights of these beautiful and majestic creatures that we get to call our family, they aren’t just pets to us!! We support you!!❤️❤️
I've cried before watching your videos, but this one was super sad. So grateful for you all. Good to see the ones who will get healthy and find good homes. Too sad that the one was adopted, then put in the slaughter pipe line. Good for him that you found him! I hope that by subscribing, liking and letting the ads run that I can help in some miniscule way.
That sweet dark bay Arab cross, what a dream horse - I hope he finds a good home. There’s so many tragedies this episode… gorgeous young horses with nothing left to give… and senior horses who weren’t loved enough. Sad stories…
I am so glad Dr Lydia came full time she's such a good and caring vet Dr Gina seems like she's going to be good also I cry every time I watch an intake video but I'm so happy for the ones that get to find a happy forever home
may I make a suggestion -- outfit the stacks with straps so the politicians can strap them on and have them walk like the big licks are expected to do -- that should really drive the message home. Love the work all of you are doing!
When Dr. Lydia cries, I cry. There were so many rough, broken horses that came off that one trailer. 😥 33:07 I'm in love with this little 16 year old bay Arab mare with the mostly healed wounds on her hind legs. The fact that she kept coming to Tawnee for scratches and love just breaks my heart. Somebody loved that horse! How on earth did she end up in the slaughter pipeline? I'm just wrecked over the fact that horses like her have been thrown away. Somebody out there misses her. Maybe they have no idea what happened to her. What a sad, sad situation. But I'm happy that it appears she'll be adoptable and has a good chance to be loved again.
Her size and body type are SO MUCH like the feisty little red Arabian/Welsh mare i got as a preteen and who spent 28 years as my confidaunt and best friend. Shammi (Shaw-mee) taught me (and much later my daughter) to be a real rider and horsewoman. She saw me marry a Marine and then traveled from duty station to duty station on both sides of America as my constant and my Home. We were separated physically by her passing at the age of 32. i hope whoever ends up with this little beauty enjoys a relationship and lifetime like Sham and i had. She may not of been the best horse in the world, but she was the best horse in the worldfor me. Thank you so very much to Horse Plus for stepping in so that this gal can now be the best horse, companion and confidaunt for someone else. 🩵☘️🥀
Yeah I haven't watched every episode but this is the worst case of horse intake I've seen. So many broken legs and untreatable diseases.. I can't man, how can anyone not care about their animals this much! Especially the colt and the 2,5 yo horse. They are babies and the owners didn't care.
Dr. Lydia is such an asset to Horse Plus. I am so happy to see that she is now a full time vet there. Her compassion and knowledge is such a blessing to the animals. You can tell that she really loves the animals and her work. I wish she was here for my dogs. I look forward to seeing more of Dr. Gina. She seems kind also.
And of course Thanx❤❤❤ to all workers of Horse plus. Dr.Lydia you are just such a sweet heart and so wonderful in connection and contact with the horses/animals. Thanx for being this special soft hearted angel you are.❤❤❤
Re intake - so many poor "babies" ... in pain, confused, scared ... transported so many times ... thank God that Horse Plus exists to help, and care for, them ... I cry just watching this ... the emotional toll it must take on all the staff breaks my heart as well. 💔
You guys are all Awesome 😎. Love love your organization Tawney. You are making a world of difference for so many animals. Good luck Tawney and Jason in DC. Love all the adoptions...it warms my heart 💜
10:58 Awwe!! It's like she's stepping carefully on purpose 😊❤ Spotted Heart: "Gosh I like this small human, better make sure i don't step on her! (And I'm SURE to impress them with my fancy-shmancy side-stepping 😊)" 😂😂
There are a lot of wild horses out here in the west. Here in AZ where I am there are several herds as well as wild donkeys. We deal with the same thing you do. The NF, conservationists, cattle producers and private sellers/buyers trying to round up these mustangs and sell at auction. They end up at slaughter just like the horses you rescue. We have two herds- the Salt River herd and the Alpine herd. The Alpine herd was recently rounded up, shipped to TX for auction and no notice was given to the rescuers for a chance to save these precious horses. The rescuers got wind, donators stepped up and they rescued all 27 horses and saved the Alpine herd. More power to you going to DC to correct these injustices with legislation.
To see Dr Lidia cry.. For Horses that is suffering... Getting her amazing heart broken 💔 get me a little bit wordy for her.. God bless her.. She is tough when it comes to giving the last act of kindness, because she knows she is helping..but will cry.. like me ..😢when an animal is suffering .. and she can't help..🤗 Please Take care of each other 🤗 You are doing an amazing job.. Love seeing the smile on Kimberlys Face, when she works with a Horse and also Dr Lidia when she is able to help.. she would just light up the room..
Dr. Lydia, I’m glad that your heart is not calloused. It is a very challenging job and you do it with integrity, compassion, and professional competency. I thank you for being who you are! Horse Plus is lucky to have you… and the rescued horses, mules, donkeys, ponies, and others are so lucky to have you and Dr. Gina to care for them!!!
Every time one of the adopters says they'll be using the horse for barrel racing I feel so heartbroken and disappointed. Barrel racing is incredibly abusive for horses and destroys them physically and mentally. Once Big Lick has been banned, barrel racing needs to be the next thing that gets targeted to be banned.
There are so many other horse sports that should be banned.. like steeplechase, horse racing, jumping, polo, trick riding, cutting, fix hunting just to name a few.
Why did a horse from a rescue so quickly end up at auction? It would be interesting to know which rescue that was, and who got the horse from them. Looks like they might have just tried to make money off this poor horse
I am happy that your showing others about the lives these animals go through, I believe that's important. Thanks to all those who made a difference in the lives of these animals!!! .
I think the darker bay you turned out first into the 10 acre pasture is at least an Arab cross if not a purebred.Gorgeous horse. I am so sad that so many horses who had given their all had to be given the last act of kindness. God bless
If that draught horse is a Suffolk Punch it is incredibly rare as the breed is in danger of extinction. There's only about 400 left in their native country of England. More in the US, about 2000. There are breeding programs trying to restore their numbers. The name of Suffolk is the county from which they come from and Punch is an old English term for short and stout
It's great to see that you're so well prepared for Washington. Brochures and leave-behinds with nice, clear bullet points and graphics are really helpful for the people you talk to. And bringing the stacks is really smart. Info on a page is great but those things leave a really strong emotional impact. Good luck, Tawnee! And good for you for going back again. The more you make yourself seen and heard, the more influence you can have.
Most positively the best of luck, but not just luck may God go with you and may He help you have the words to say to motivate the ones who make the laws change to protect these wonderful animals.
Wow Tawnee, what a professional booklet!!! Full of all the information these Committees need to pass legislation to pass laws to benefit the horses. Be very proud!!!!😍😍😍😍
This is literally so heart shattering along with infuriating!!!!! I will never understand why or how any human being can do this to any animal!!!!!!💔😭😡 THANK YOU FOR ALL THE AMAZING WHEN YOU ALL DO!!!!!
Give them the brochure After you speak to them, not before. If you give it before they will be looking at the booklet, not you. They will be seeing and hearing at the same job and thus doing a poor job of both.
I LOVE that big red draft so much!! It’s hard to see Dr Lydia struggling like that, I wanted to give her a hug… 💔 I’m so grateful she’s there for those horses she’s extraordinary and would be a delight to work with! That first group of buyouts was really rough… I had to rewind and watch those kids carrying around Wonton to adopt!! 😂
Oh guys… so very heartbreaking to see the AWFUL conditions of the horses that came in. My prayers are with you as you act as ANGELS helping these poor babies to move on to a better place. God be with you. I feel so deeply for you all and am so proud of what you are doing to help in so many ways! 😞🙏🏻😡
Dr. Lydia my heart is so touched about the passion you all have. The tears....it's awesome. God bless you all. Love love your videos and what you all do. 😢❤❤
We are very proud of you too Tawnee! Great job on the booklet that you put together. Hopefully it really touches the lawmakers that have it in their power to make such important changes in the equine world. I am so thankful to HPHS for your continued perseverence ...in spite of so many road blocks ...to saving these precious horses and in far too many cases, ending their excruciating pain. There were definitely a lot of very sad cases in this week's buyout. Oh how I'd love to go after the former owners that let these horses get in such horrible condition. They obviously have no conscience and will answer to their Creator one day.
Seeing all the horses that couldn't be helped was hard, honestly everyone is so strong being able to do this. Its so heartbreaking but without you all they would have suffered more. ❤❤
Thank you for all you do and another excellent episode! 💚 The whole intake process was both heartbreaking and reaffirming, as it so often is, and Tawnee's D.C. mission is inspiring! Having worked in D.C., I can vouch for visuals and solid examples. They will do well. Sending all the positive, progressive energy I can your way! One suggestion: The donation/info segment at 41:43 could be clipped and posted to Instagram and TikTok, with the donate number and link throughout, and a link to the TH-cam channel in the description. It's such a powerful minute, and I and I'm certain many others here would be happy to help it get shared around. If you have shared this already and I've missed it, please let me know, but I know ads like this make their rounds regularly on my Instagram feed, and on repeat for months. If you can get locked into the algorithm, it would get attention. I do see the HPHS posts and stories, the latter often offering merch, but having this segment and more like it (more meaning perhaps about calling your reps re. the bills in D.C.) playing out between a viewer's other stories would be impactful. Just a thought.
I admire people that can do these types of rescue. I could never do rescue. I would be so far under the jail house seeing these animals in such rough conditions. I would be cussing worse than a sailor, I would be hiring someone that does voodoo to put a hex on the horrible people that mistreated these poor animals. I definitely would never see the the light of day again because I would be beating the heck out of the heartless people that turn a blind eye and not try and help these beautiful creatures. With all of this being said, May Go bless each and everyone of these beautiful people that are taking a stand to help these animals to relieve their suffering and giving those that are save able a new lease on life. Having trouble with typing because I’m crying from watching this video. Thank you for all that you do.
Thank you for blurring open wounds. I need to be in the right headspace to see those, and gives me an excuse to watch Horse+ Vets when I'm in that mindset.
Those booklets look amazing!!! Fantastic job. Best of luck in Washington DC. As always Dr. Lydia and the rest of the team do an awesome job. I'm really happy that Dr Gina is working so well. Cheers from South America Uruguay 🇺🇾
All of these babies are so sad I just look at those poor legs and the condition of these horses is just falling. How can anybody do such a thing and leave these so unattended and neglected thank you guys for all you do.
Tawnee und Jason sooo great your work in Washington DC. You are such hard working people on your mission . Thanks for all you are doing❤❤🐎🐎 Greetings from Germany
Tawney----DAMN nice job on those legislature brochures----kudos to you for taking the action you see needs to happen, based upon your years of experience and service!
I hope you guys know how very special you all are. I can tell the Vets are struggling, but I want you both to know that you are AMAZING!! please only focus on the positive. Your work is so very important to the animals and to us animal lovers. Thank you❤
Tawnee, good luck in Washington. This is such important work you're doing to get laws changed. You new pamplet looks fabulous. Good information and explanations contained inside. I'm saying prayers for your success in your presentation getting through to those that can change laws.
Every animal deserves love and kindness and it just breaks my heart to see the abuse that some of these animals have to suffer through. God bless you for everything that you do. And as soon as I can I will donate to you because I firmly believe in everything you do. 💔🙏💕🐎🌹
That would be a real crime if this is a Suffolk Punch, they are still on the endangered list of rare Breeds….unbelievable how these Horses end up in such situations…I truly admire Dr.Lydia and Gina for doing this sometimes Heartbreaking Job…for sure there are a lot of new Chances, but for the worst cases it’s really tough…❤
an amazing team doing amazing things doing amazing documentations while being an illiterate - brilliant show guys I am so proud of the shared sisterhood we share - you never knew that this would came to this - amazing 😀🥰🥰😀😀😀🥰🥰😀😀
I hope the other rescue where the white gelding came from gets ahold of the people who adopted him an again ended up in the auction and tells them we're to go. They should have returned him to the rescue. People are disgusting poor horse.
@@meaganhoffman8255Unfortunately not all “rescues” are good. Sadly many of them are not much different than the places they rescue from. This is why legislation is so important. Going piece meal will never work.
You guys are doing a great job for the horse 🐎 and dogs and cats 🐈 and you guys are doing great job for the horse 🐎 Nanette and I like what you guys do for the horse 🐎 Nanette
Dr Lydia seems like such a great vet regarding her knowledge and to see she truly cares too makes her the total package. As a vet tech I wish I lived closer
Wonton and the kids are too cute, made for each other. Thank you all for your love and all you make possible for the animals, Tawnee,- you are amazing!
Tawny, wonderful booklet to hand out in Washington DC! Loads of respect for how you're taking your rescue strategy to the next level: trying to prevent suffering. All your experience and knowledge being put to use for the greater good. It's very inspiring to see. And your workaround to rescue horses in spite of being banned from the auction is admirable. Even with the horrendous shape some (or a lot!) of the horses are in, at least they arrive in a place of peace and love at HPHS, where their needs are being met by a wonderful team with true compassion.
Seeing Dr. Lydia cry over suffering horses that need the last act of kindness speaks volumes to me about where her heart is. God bless all the awesome staff at HPHS.
Couldn't agree more! ❤

Yes but making her a barrel racer I don't like. Barrel racing is not good for any horse, in my opinion it's cruel
To see Dr Lidia cry..

Tawny. You are the most incredible woman in this world. Your continuing passion amazes me. What a difference you have made to this 🌎 world.
So so sad. To many mistreated!. Praying for your mental health. Rescue work is not for thr faint of heart.

i lovexthat your rescue-cats run free and choose the humans they feel attracted to. 😊
I LOVE the chestnut stallion, and the horse that loves scratches!
I can't understand how any human could let these poor souls stay like this.
Because those people who owned these horse's are selfish and have NO conscience
@@francineherron1940 I know your right but it is horrible
Dr. Lydia my heart is so touched about the passion you all have. The tears....it's awesome. God bless you all. Love love your videos and what you all do. 😢❤❤
Good for you Tawnee, you are an angel for horses. Thank you so much, you add so much heart to all of this. 💖💖😃😃😃💖
This was a bit of tough episode. When Dr. Lydia gets THAT upset, its BAD. 😪
I cant wait til those laws are pushed thru - Go Tawnee, Go!
Vet is amazing. 😊
Ty ty ty for doing not just saying things n hiding out behind the camera. You guys Def Do awesome things. I'm so proud of u guys. ❤❤❤
I'm so excited for you guys!!!
Washington DC with real brochures and an improved website!!
Woo hoo!! 🙋🏼♀️
A heartfelt huge hug of appreciation from the UK. ❤
Tawnee und Jason sooo great your work in Washington DC. You are such hard working people on your mission .
Thanks for all you are doing❤❤🐎🐎
Greetings from Germany
Tawney----DAMN nice job on those legislature brochures----kudos to you for taking the action you see needs to happen, based upon your years of experience and service!
You have every right to proud of the brochure and website work. It takes hours and a lot of money to hire someone to do that work. Good luck in DC!
Thanks for the updates! Great information. Thank you all for your hard work. Thanks to all the donors for prayers and monetary donations. ♥️🙏😔
Seeing that sweet little girl with her new horse is just a tear jerker!
@Tawney & team....Even though the loop holes, I do feel that the Lord is bringing you the right horses to help despite auction drama. ❤❤❤
I cried with you grateful that you have a vet there to relieve suffering as soon as possible. Love adopters also hero's ❤
Hello from the U.K. I am very excited for another episode. 😊
Rose sends greetings from the State of New Jersey.
an amazing team doing amazing things doing amazing documentations while being an illiterate - brilliant show guys I am so proud of the shared sisterhood we share - you never knew that this would came to this - amazing 😀🥰🥰😀😀😀🥰🥰😀😀
I am sure you will smash it x. And your team ❤
😊 3:45 You're a great couple of Honourable people ❤❤
I hope the other rescue where the white gelding came from gets ahold of the people who adopted him an again ended up in the auction and tells them we're to go. They should have returned him to the rescue. People are disgusting poor horse.
I'm surprised that the rescue didn't ask or want him back
@@meaganhoffman8255Unfortunately not all “rescues” are good.
Great to see Spotted heart got a forever home❤
Thought about volunteering at a horse rescue in my area, just know how emotional it can be. Thank you for all you do,God Bless.
So proud to support this organization!❤
Kimberly's my favorite
This was an outstanding video
Wonton and the kids are too cute, made for each other. Thank you all for your love and all you make possible for the animals, Tawnee,- you are amazing!
I was just wondering why we haven't had an up to date video. These shorts just don't cut it. I love you guys!!
Agreed
The mule acted like he wanted to go home with the family. I think he loved the attention of the children.
Tears of sadness falling as they come off the trailer. Thank you for all you do.
What a tough rescue. Sorry for your difficult rescue.
Just heart breaking show
What horses do for people, horses are Deserving of far better treatment than they get!
Hooray for Gus! And Spotted Heart. I hope they all have long happy lives with their new people ❤
Reet reet reet! Little pigs are so cute!
Hey Tawney and Jason have safe trip to Washington DC. And Dr Lideu you did awesome tonight. And everyone else too. All ❤❤❤❤ my 💗💕🥰 😘 to all.
What the hell. Where do all these horses come from. So many 😭😭😭
Great job Tawnee!!!
