I love that you have a timer for the WHOLE process! So many sewing videos skip cutting and ironing so that the video is shorter, but then what looks like a 20 minute project is actually 40 minutes!

Happy to say I did complete week 1. The hardest part for me is selecting the fabric as I don't do red so mine is going to be in blue and white. I am excited to start the Ice Crystal Block. This is my first sew along and Kim makes it look so easy and perfect. I am really enjoying this project. Thank You!

DUH, I read the comments before watching the video. I thought you came up with the name Ice Crystal because you were going to be using blue & white! haha
I love blue and white, too, and I was going to make this in shades of blue and creams...BUT then thought I would step our of my box...going to do reds and green.

Printed off pattern first so if any notes needed I can write them on the pattern, so know where they are. Never thought of half yards cuts would make it easy to starch it. I cut 2 one yards and the half to starch. Will go back to cut the yards into half now. Love the patterns so far, this is my first Jelly Roll Christmas Mystery quilt. It just started to rain here so will be sewing now. HAPPY HAPPY
Oh this has just crept up on me! I have the first blocks.....just need to find some time to sew! Off to printing the pattern and maybe I will catch up today! ❤️

This is my favorite block. However, I discovered that I do not have enough background in my stash. Any excuse to shop!
When you starch maybe you could start on a large cookie sheet or something so the starch pools and then you can just set them right in all the extra.
love this so so cute and I love this Block can get going on Christmas things but right now it's so hard to find fabric anywhere
My Walmart has a sm but nice fabric dept that is getting ALOT of different holiday fabric selection in. We now have Halloween & some Christmas FQ & JR !! May not the BEST but its there & i appreciate it!! Im using last years selection & its good practice.

Kimberly, Big Lots sells your starch for $1.35 per can. You can order online and pick up order free at the store. You can include an alternate pick up person (hubs!).

Hello Janet! That is completely up to you. Kimberly chose strips from one jelly roll that she really liked for this quilt.

I think i will triple the pattern to make a full quilt.
I love it! I actually bought a Jolly bar instead of a jelly roll will i be able to get all the fabric from it? Thanks for all your help and hard work! #fqsrocks
Hello Marcia! This pattern was written for a jolly roll but you can use fat quarters or fat eighths. A jolly bar would not work unfortunately.
In block one you used a special flying geese ruler, but you didn’t use it this time. Does that mean I can do the first block without the ruler as well? Also, what cutting mat are you using? Thanks for sharing these! I can’t afford all the fabric yet, but watching these makes me want to save up faster, lol!

When making the flying geese and sewing on the line, when I fold the green back is not big enough at the top.
I never see on the line. The block will be too small
Try to sew a couple of threads inside the line. That allows for the fold over. Hope this makes sense.
