So, Microsoft have made their exams "role-based" now. Which means that now, in Azure we have various exams very specific to the current skillset/job of an IT professional, like, Developer, IT Admin, AI, DBA etc.
That brings up a very valid question - What Azure Exam should you take?
Here, in this video, I explain how the Azure Certification Path looks like in the year 2020. Also, which particular certification/certifications would make the most sense for you if you're looking for a job involving Microsoft Azure/Cloud Computing.
I also go over realistic Prep Timelines for each test type, ie, How long would it take for you to clear each certification.
Various certifications here have been broken down into 3 levels - Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced.

Thanks for the video. As you have mentioned that it takes 1-2 months of prep. for passing each one of AZ-900 and AZ-104 but since I am new to cloud so it took me atleast 3 months to pass each one of AZ-900 and AZ-104 (without work) total 6 months for both. I took a lot of time to see the video lectures and sometimes it got difficult to grasp so many concepts then practised them (not all) on the portal to understand.
Just thinking if my method of learning is too slow OR is it okay OR should I try less thorough study for any next moderate certifications because when I see some guys passing 3 Azure certs (AZ-900, AZ-104 and AZ-500) within 4 months then I feel as if I am too slow and wasting extra months every time I prepare. Any suggestions plz ?
If you’re preparing for clearing the certain, put in a lot of effort in practice questions and labs.
You don’t have to know everything about everything bro. Try to be efficient and avoid going into rabbit holes in the earlier stages.
Being a Jack of all traits is a great approach for these certifications. Mastery will come eventually. :)

I'm hoping for a response because I'm completely lost. I'm almost done with some SSMS courses & was totally intending on getting certified, but as I understand it, MS retired SQL Server certs? It's Azure now? So are the DP-200 (Data Science) series of exams what's right for me? I eventually want to be able to query & do reporting off of a data warehouse at my job. Thank you in advance.

hello hello. just to make sure, to gt Az-400 u have to get AZ-104 as administrator first, and then u need about 2 to 4 months to prepare for Az400

Hi everyone, my query may look silly. But trying to figure out what others do to retain technical concepts after watching videos..... could one of us please guide me on this, iam new to Azure cloud. While watching training videos, it seems iam able to understand. But unable to reproduce whatever I watch as videos.... Do we need to take notes ? Taking notes is highly time consuming I believe.... Let's say I watch videos, read books from packt pub and try to solve questions from whizlabs, doing practical lab in Azure ... To some extent, yes. However, I'd suggest going through the Learn package for AZ-204 before you do.

You can start AZ-204 after AZ-900 that is great idea.

If you have a good grasp of both Azure Basics and Security Basics, then you can just skip AZ-104 and take AZ-500 directly.

104 is 50 times harder than 900. 900 is very basic, almost no technical. 104 requires deep knowledge in most main areas of Azure ; computing, networking, security, storage and disaster recovery.
I am a senior. net dev. After az-204, what should be the next step? az-400(devops) or az-303(architect)? The architect seems to be more pro.
For Architect, you'd have to take both AZ-303 and AZ-304.

It'll be better to book the DP-203 now. Since the older exams are retiring soon. Plus, now you only have to take 1 exam.

AI-900 is pretty easy, but 204 and 104 provide much deeper knowledge.

I mean to say, currently I carry an overall 6 years assistant managerial, employee retention & core U.S client coordination level work experience with an American Express & i graduated from an Arts stream (Pol Science Hons.) with a not to great 50% aggregate & to be fair, I seriously hate maths to the core which means I can't even think about "A.I, or M.L" as new career. I think specially in my scenario it will be a big career suicidal decision?

I think AZ-400 is leaning more towards administration than development. Therefore I think that people who took AZ-103 will have easier time than developers.

If you enjoyed the IaaS concepts then AZ-104 would be the next logical step. However, you could learn AZ-204 and start with cloud development too.
