My thoughts exactly. When my brother was in the army he cam across an M2 with a manufacture date of 1929. I'm sure that it had been rebuilt a few times.

@@daemonknight9413 read somewhere.. the NEW .50/338NM will be basically a M2 with fixed headspace.. No need to use a HS Gage or trigger timing gage when changing the barrel.. ..
And to add on the fact that the M2HB is still fundamentally the same gun with only minor changes. John Browning made a masterpiece.

Just incase anyone wasn't aware, the 50cal M2 Browning was put into service shortly after WW1. It's been in service in some form for pretty much a century. Granted it's roll has changed drastically (it was originally designed as an anti-tank weapon).
IDK how Phly edits the tank models for the thumbnail but he's having WAY too much fun with it. Keep up the good work.

I subscribed not only because of the content you create but mainly because of the way you present your content through your dialogue. I’ve never in my 28 years of life and 15+ years of watching TH-cam creators come across one like you.
The way you go from incredibly upbeat, to dead silent, then somehow low voice ferocious intense. Was the reason I subscribed. Cause i stopped playing war thunder 5 unrecoverable tail spins ago. 😂 but I’m here damn near every day watching these videos for the charismatic dialogue alone. ✊🏾

8:10 the only difference between an MG3 and the original MG42 is tge caliber. The MG42 was chambered in 7.92x57 mauser and the MG3 is chambered in NATO standard 7.62x51 (.308)

8:10 MG3 in Germany, MG74 in Austria. Basically a MG42 with the 7,62 NATO instead of the 7,92x57 rounds and at least for the MG74 a slower rate of fire to make it more controllable. But still heavy as hell, if you have to run with that thing...😅

Funny thing, it's a modernized Browning .30 that's the coaxial MG on the CV9040A and B, with the MG3 as Ksp94 that's the coax and turret top MG on the Strv. 121& Strv 122 XD
Only the US and probably some random latin america/east asian country used the M1919 and it was only good as a Tank MG, maybe you meant M1917 browning, as it was later upscaled and became the M2HB 12.7mm machinegun.

About old MG's...did you check when the M2 was made, the little 50cal...or 12,7mm, depending on where you are in the world...and...if it was not for the Kongsberg group, it would have been removed from service some 20 years or so now :-)

Where are 1911s or BARs used outside of nostalgic recreation? Can agree on M2, though.
Mostly correct: the MG on top of the tank is an MG-3 - the weapon mounted in the turret is called "T-MG" (Turm-MG or Turret-MG). Only difference being that the turret variant does not have a stock, only a "bumper" to keep the bolt in the weapon - which makes things interesting, the weapon (at least in the APC i served on) always comes out "racked", for disassembly you only need to rotate the stock/bumper 90 degrees. Leads to many "hilarious" situation where you get an enema from your superior while walk (of shame) to collect the spring etc 100 yards down the range because you rotated the stock while the spring was compressed. The MG-3/T-MG of today are a different (smaller) caliber compared to the MG42 (7.62x51 NATO vs 7.92x57 Mauser).

8:58 I think you had already lost your external plating which may have contributed to fact that he penetrated your turret. The death cam shows you had it but if you go back a bit earlier it was actually already blown off
