Best MBT? I think the Swedish Strv 122 is the best because it has very good armor, a good round and a decent reverse gear, unlike Russia lol. Plus you will get better teammates when you play Sweden
The Israeli tanks have front engines so even when you pen them its often just a mobility disable, they turn and blast you.
The Challenger is the worst. Its the Slowest. End of.

If you haven't already considered it, you should do a Reserve Tank Tier List after finishing the top tier list. Would pull double duty as entertainment and a less serious guide to newer players on which nations are easier to start out in.

18:26 apparently you can break barrels on dead tanks. It makes sense that the MErkava with less armor is at a higher BR. Mobility is always a huge influence on performance. But 100mm of armor when everything has 400mm+ ammo is a bad trade for the decreased mobility. It's all about angled plates and getting the first shot off.

As far as I know No ortther max tier mbt gets active protection system and 3th gen thermal + top tier apds round. So its only fair it also dosnt have a broken op frontal armor layout. + its engine is still a helpfull Shell stopper in the front.

Well, the Ariete has no armour, but the concept of having it as a light tank is made because of Italian logistics and border terrain (mountains), so that the army can operate it in the rough conditions Italian geography poses
Well said!!! Everyone always complains about Ariete's armour but they don't know why Iveco and Oto decided to make it a light tank, I bet most tanks would have a difficult time driving in our terrain.
Ariete: 54.0 tonnes
Leopard 2A4: 55.2 tonnes
Leclerc S1: 54.5 tonnes
M1A1: 57 tonnes
Type 90: 50.2 tonnes
T80/T90/T72: Less than 48 tonnes

@@ar0568 weight doesn't really matter, those tanks are not made SPECIFICALLY for Italian terrain, contrary to the C1 Ariete
Regarding the leclerc: it has more armour irl than it does in game. They still have not fixed it unfortunately.

Not surprising. Pretty much guaranteed that ariete and challenger 2 also have much better armour. Meanwhile, I'll also guarantee that leopard 2, M1A2 and all the commie tanks are weaker in real life.

In terms of the arietes, the AMV has the least armor but is the fastest, the pso has giant ad on era making it the slowest with no real good trade off for it, and the C1 (or what gaijin labels as just ariete) is a medium between the pso, and AMV with stock better turret armor, but also gets a turret armor add on making it’s turret able to stop a surprisingly good amount. Imo the AMV should be 11.3 with the rest and if they had to make one 11.7 it should be the c1, as imo from the amount I’ve played them, (from best to worse) goes c1, AMV, pso.
I always love those parts of the video where there's no music or any action happening. Just dollar driving, followed by an abrupt missle/bomb blowing him up. Then a hard cut to the next round. 😂
Superb video as always, the only thing that bothers me are the unrealistic French vehicles and especially the Leclerc tank which have an APSFD that only pierces 575mm. FYI Nexter manufactures ammunition for the Leclerc tank with 20% more penetration than any other modern tank.

That’s what they’ve said, but in consideration of multiple different rounds that have been released since the M829A3 round was produced not to mention the A4 variant that exceeds well over 1000mm of RHA equivalent. A 20% more penetration value on a round that doesn’t exceed over 1000mm in length is impossible. Even with DU rounds the penetration max value is based around the total length of the round that’s why the M829A4 is sitting around 1100mm in sabot length.
But also the biggest factor the Leclerc is missing is it’s armor which almost all NATO tanks are missing in game.

Hi Dollar, the Merkava Mk.4M has an internal ERA protection (with similar capabilities to the Relict ERA) and more one composite armor layer that Gaijin didn't add to the game - so acttualy the Merkava Mk.4M has way better protection in real life.
My totally unbiased (lmao) review of every top tier MBT (I personally grinded through USA, Russia, Britain, Italy and Sweden and got my friends help with the rest):
- M1A2 SEP: Firepower is good and mobility is VERY good but armor and survivability are kinda bruh. Had a lot of struggle with one. A or B tier.
- Leopard 2A6/2A5: insane turret armor, good firepower, medium mobility, good survivability, only gen 1 thermals. High A tier for 2A5 and S tier for 2A6.
- T-80BVM: very good overall protection, sometimes good survivability, good firepower, good mobility, bad reverse speed and gun depression. At least an A tier.
- Challenger 2E: a challenger with decent mobility? Blasphemy. Good turret protection, meh survivability, good firepower, good mobility, very weak hull protection. Solid B tier.
- TKX/Type 10: no armor, good survivability somehow, insane firepower, very good mobility, bad vertical guidance. At least an A tier.
- ZTZ99A/WZ1001(E): good frontal protection, overall weak survivability, good firepower, very good mobility, bad gun depression. Solid A tier, maybe even S.
- Ariete AMV (or any rank 7 Ariete in general): bruh, just bruh. No armor, no survivability, good firepower (used to be the absolute best, good times), medium or below average mobility. If you want to play an Ariete just get the Preserie version at 10.0, much better. D tier.
- Leclerc: everything just good, nice jack of all trades. A tier at least.
- Strv 122A/B and Leo 2A6: basically the same as German Leos but Strv 122 has better hull protection and different APFSDS (better post pen but worse flat pen). My favorite top tier tanks in game, S tier.
- Merkava 4.M: weak protection, good survivability, gimped firepower for some reason, bad mobility, has APS though. Worse than Ariete or not? D tier.

Let's see what the WT economy system brings. It might cost time but it will worth it. Please show how you stand with the player base, who should be respected by Gaijin.
Please start a new account with maximum paying $70 (a normal 3A game) to buy the premium account or premium vehicles (including Gaijin store and market premium vehicles). Or it's even better without any premium. This means no Lv-150 ace crew for tanks, no Lv-75 ace crew for planes, no unlimited silver lion in the beginning gameplay. The aim is to grind to a fully functional non-premium line-up at 5.7~6.3 for ground RB in any one tech tree. Any one country tech tree is fine. Without additional payment with GE, we will have maximum 5 crew groups.
For example, the German 5.7 line-up includes Tiger H (heavy tank), Panther D (medium or light tank), Ostwind II (anti-air), Bf 109 G-14 (fighter), and Ju188 A-2 (CAS). Or USSR 6.3 line-up of IS-2(1944), 2S3M (2 major battle vehicles), M53/59, La-9, Tu-2S-44. As a small little honorable mention you should rank the squadron mbt's of each nation that has them, there's very few I think just the AIM, 2PL, and 80UK. All 11.3 so maybe next list idk?
