@@dannysmith2806 That's actually true, iraqi couldnt afford HEATFS or APFSDS and even if they could, it wouldnt have changed anything, they were using T55 and about twenty T72, but the variant of these tanks were shitty af, no electronics at all, they had to move the turret and the canon with a crank, no thermal or night vision. They were no more dangerous than training targets or WW2 tanks. Iraqi lost everything in this battle, they only managed to destroy a Bradley with a BMP-1, that's all.

My uncle used to command these tanks. He has so many wonderful stories about his time in the army. He retired as a major. I really look up to him. I think he's so cool.

As a tank mechanic, i can verify the accuracy of that. If war thunder was historically accurate to a t, then that tank would be more deadly than advertized.

I have one with 8Gb ram and it barely runs WT after the new update. Just fine before that. I used to get 60 FPS in hangar and 45 in battle but both have been cut by 20%

The battle you were referring to in desert storm was the battle of 73 Easting which happened during the day in bad weather 9 Abrams and 12 Bradlies destroying 160 tank and bmp1 the battle lasted 23mins

When I was a tanker we were told that they actually stopped using the sabot because it wasn’t giving a report when they hit cause it was going through the enemy like butter, so they used heat instead which decimated them. Hello from Sanford lol

6 second reload time bested only by Type 90’s autoloader and the 2F has one of the top 5 best APFSDS rounds in the game as well as ACTUALLY EFFECTIVE ARMOR unlike the Abrams or the should-be-effective-armor-because-it’s-a-discount-leopard-2A4 type 90.

Yeah, it was a shooting gallery where the targets stood still. The enemy tanks would be nice & warm from sitting out in the sun all day and with our thermal sights we could plink them from multiple (ie 3+) kilometers away. Add in that they had no effective night vision or even defensive measures in addition to the infamous post-pen damage from DU & our FCS, we were brutally effective.
p.s. Don't even get me started on APUs and the latest IRL M1A2 ammo along with the original M1 having the M900 that the M1128 has in-game.
For real, is this guy invincible or just the enemy are full of muppets.

Recently finished a degree with an emphasis on Middle Eastern warfare: your comment on the use of the Abrams in Iraq 1 rings true af. The tactical implementation was basically an entire battalion of A1/A2s moving at full speed (at the time, top speed was classified) across the desert inward from Kuwait across most of the country without pause. Literally WT capture the flag. Very cool mention!

Hey Phly, I'm telling ya, the 75/46 m43 is a very fun, sneaky td to play. Just try it and see what happens, the hidden armor plate in front is actually surprisingly effective, imo
